When it came to ESB and ROTJ, obviously he had others write those scripts entirely.

I was under the impression that he wrote full scripts for both films, but had other writers do subsequent drafts.

For ESB he basically wrote the initial script, while Kasdan fixed the dialogue.

That’s not really true. Brackett wrote the initial script based on his story treatment (that they developed together). Much of what was in that script made it to the final film. And Kasdan did more than “fix the dialogue.”

Well Brackett’s draft was essentially completely discarded.

Obviously it was more than dialogue but I would say that was Kasdan’s main/best contribution. Then again Lucas and Kasdan were meeting regularly so the input was mutual.

Having to sit through the prequels after the cliffhanger in Empire… now that’s something you need hospital drugs for.

Exactly. I do not see why would anyone want to put shit in the middle of the best sandwich.

I guess sitting through that sh*t would help make ROTJ seem like a movie of the same quality as eps 4 & 5 😉

While ROTJ is certainly of higher quality than ANH and ESB, that might actually make it look like same quality. 😛

What can and can't be changed by Disney?

Disney simply isn’t Lucas, who (like it or not) was still an “artist”. Disney is pure corporation and what they care about is making the profit. Releasing OOT is simply unnoteworthy compared to the profit they get from making new stuff.

To paraphrase : Disney only cares and money. Therefore, they won’t sell a product that costs practically nothing to produce and that will sell like hot cakes at $100 a pop.

When you operate in billions, several millions is unnoteworthy profit. All it would do is basically steal lots of publicity and attention from the things that make them billions now.

also wanting their new films to be of a standard, feel and quality more akin to the Original Trilogy, than the Prequels.

But it eventually ended up being worse than PT. TFA “plot” is a complete trainwreck and any PT plot seems like a “masterpiece” in comparison. It takes a lot more than rehashing stuff from OT and randomly throwing it together in order to come close to OT quality.

No, I don’t. I don’t post in this thread often

and I rarely comment to agree or disagree with them.

Like you said, you do not post very often and you rarely comment on anything useful. When you do post it is usually childish BS and false accusations:

Funny how the above applies just as much to you as it does to me. All except for the “do not post often” part.

I have just checked some of last posts for both of us and your post frequency is evidently higher.

No, Original Trilogy is completely original.

REHASH!!!

There are a few other films Lucas bit off of in small ways but this is the most notable of them.

Quite clearly that was just a bad prediction of OT. Just because I can predict momentous events, such as solar eclipse, it does not mean I can take credit for the event itself.

You literally posted the exact same thing two weeks ago.

Just like Mala and Alderaan, that he dislikes a movie isn’t enough; he doesn’t want anyone else to like it either. So like the petulant man-child he is (and they are), he has to keep coming back, rubbing his dislike in our faces until we get with his program.

I have merely posted a ranking list in “Ranking the Star Wars” thread. I did not even give any comments regarding my dislikes, let alone any persuasion aimed at other people.

And before you call other people “petulant man-child”, you should first stop being one yourself.
