At the very least it show’s just how the film was cuts to shreds in post and slapped together in an almost DIY fashion.
Continuity error with Rey and the saber.

Yeah you’re probably right.
Welcome to the OT forums! You’ll never find a more wretched hive of talent and passion.
I don’t know. I’m a bigger Anakin fan than many, but I think this would’ve been absurd. Why spend two and a half movies building up two compelling new Force-using characters, Rey and Ben, and developing their dynamic together, only to sideline them in favour of the same dude who killed Palpatine last time? I would’ve liked Anakin to have had a slightly greater presence in the movie (rather than getting the same size role as Luminara Unduli), but I think anything more than
the support role he gets alongside the other ghosts in jonh’s edit would have robbed Rey and Ben of their moment. Besides, to a certain extent, the ST is about the two parts of his legacy: Kylo idolises Vader; Rey is trained by Anakin’s children.I agree, but I don’t think Idir was being serious!

Fascinating. What if we had a scene like this during the “be with me” scene showing the relevant ghosts legs crossed as they speak, so when Obi speaks we cut to him on the circle, when Anakin speaks we cut to him on the circle etc etc.
F canon this is the ending we deserved: https://youtu.be/DH9ZkDOxnqk
Mama Mia that’s a good idea.
Actually it’s “Mamma mia”.
If you want stereotypical phrases, do it correctly, haha
Grazie😉
Mamma mia* that’s a good idea.
Reading through this thread and looking over the results of the TROS poll got me thinking about the idea of having Rey be responsible for her parents death. I know that keeping Rey as Palps granddaughter is a less popular option than Rey Nobody, but if an editor were to have Rey kill her parents I think the Rey Palpatine angle works.
This way we keep Rey’s parents as good people who were doing all they could to protect their daughter, and in a fit of uncontrolled childhood rage, she causes their death. When she accepts the truth of this it would serve to compound the feelings of inner conflict and fear she has regarding her own power
They sold you to him: https://streamable.com/6042d7
You wanted your parents dead: https://streamable.com/lmidv9
I killed my mother: https://streamable.com/ot407gThat’s seamless. Great work!
Clavis how’s that Achto sequence coming along? Curious to see what you’ve been up to with that.
This guy on youtube does some crazy good space battle animations, really worth checking out.

So I watched TROS again a couple of days ago and took some notes as to potential edits:
- Since Kylo is oddly communing with Vader’s mask after Palps tells him he’s been ‘every voice in his head’, it might work to place this scene right after the opening crawl. The mask could be Vader telling him exactly where to find the wayfinder on Mustafar. Cut to him slaughtering the Cultists.
I tried something like that here: https://vimeo.com/417019357
I’m thinking of using the pan to Coruscant - 1313 footage - DOTF concept art and the bridge shot of Kylo Ren as Palpatine’s message plays across the galaxy, then cutting to him meditating on the helmet - setting up his search for Exogol.
I really like what you have done here, its amazing. Would it be possible using some fan film footage and some of your wizardry to have an interaction with Vader’s mask be the impetus for Kylo’s turn in episode 8?
I really hated the luke tries to kill his Nephew angle, and felt it would be more fitting that Ben finds Vader’s mask at Luke’s temple (not knowing Vader was his Grandfather a la the Bloodline novel)
I feel like your skills would be well suited to something like that, just awesome work.
Wow that is very kind of you, I really appreciate it.
I definitely agree with you on emphasising the role that Vader’s helmet/palpatine played in Kylo’s turn. It’s an idea worth pursuing.
Lol by no means am I a wizard, in fact I only started editing February of this year. I invite everyone to give it a shot, all of my editing is done on Davinci Resolve 16, it’s free and easy to use, with a few tutorials on youtube anyone can jump right in!

I really like A.
What if the “destruction” of starkiller base causes the destroyers to rise from beneath the surface
I was thinking that the search for the map to Skywalker could be turned into the search for the wayfinders, thus introducing Palpatine at the end of TFA.So what happens to the entirety of TLJ?
This would probably works best in a duology edit.
Looks like a fresh new take, very promising. I’m looking forward to checking it out.
His appearance likely changed a lot after his injuries.
Hmm a kinda jedi civil war. Would be great subject matter for a TV show.
I always imagined Snoke as a Palpatine figure, someone hiding in plain sight, kind of a wise mentor to Luke and a friend of the Solo family, perhaps even aiding in teaching the jedi at the temple, a hidden poison, slowly but subtly corrupting Ben solo and some others until ultimately causing a split. In the aftermath Luke would confront him, leaving him for dead. Hence the deformity.
This will sound dumb, but what if Starkiller Base isn’t a planet-killer, but an ancient Sith bioweapon to resurrect the dead?
The First Order’s plan in TFA is to bring Palpatine back to life. This explains how he comes back in TROS and avoids “yet another death star”. Although it sounds dumb in concept considering what we have to work with I think it’d tie things very smoothly.
Alternatively, the FO could be destroying the Republic as a mass-sacrifice to enable Palpatine’s return. I remember something like this in SWTOR.
I like where you’re head’s at.

I have a download link to the original TLJ Anti Cringe Cut if you want it.
Yeah that would do just as well.
What if kylo finds the wayfinder in coruscant? Instead of mustafar … In the jedi temple
According to the Rise of Skywalker concept art that was JJ’s original intention.

I like the DotF concept piece, but I think if we were to use it, I would remove the massive ship and replace it with a regular FO destroyer. If we are going to show a destroyer blowing up during the victory montage at the end of the film, I think it would be better to set up that moment by showing that destroyer hover above the city at the beginning of the film, rather than this big boi right here. Unless we showed it blow up or on fire at the end.
I think aesthetic wise the huge flying “capital” brings something new aesthetically to the table, which the ST really needs.
I was thinking, what if we use the DOTF concept art but when we get to the shot of Kylo on the bridge, we see the jedi temple in the distance with a destroyer hovering above, this way in the board room scene we cut to the destroyer, with the jedi temple’s pillars in the background or whatever and in the end we have both the big boy and the destroyer blow up or Holdo manoeuvred.
Edit: Rough concept of Kylo facing the temple:https://vimeo.com/417422513
Played around with that Coruscant concept art from DOTF: https://vimeo.com/416679459
It might be usable with some added lights and sfx. This could be useful: [CVPR 2020] 3D Photography using Context-aware Layered Depth Inpainting
Similar project: 3d-ken-burnsIt can be ran in Google Colab, but unfortunately, the resolution is quite low since the runtime is limited.
The result would have to be touched up obviously, but this is how the Coruscant concept art turned out.
Wow that’s leaps and bounds better than what I thought was achievable.
This software could probably be used to create a new establishing shot of Mustafar using concept art and the like :https://www.deviantart.com/skybolt/art/VADERS-CASTLE-657587543
I think the added dialogue is a good idea, at least it gives hints of the kinda characters that are underneath the masks.
I like the dialogue choices but maybe give it a more comedic touch, “It’s luke’s walking carpet” - “I get the fur”-“I get the teeth”
The comic sucks, and I plan on ignoring its storyline. The KoR in my edit will be the students from the razed Jedi Temple.
Agreed, the comic was comically bad.
“Oh poor Ben, he didn’t kill the jedi at the temple, and the one that he did kill was only by accident!
The poor boy did nothing wrong!”
🤮
