Am I remembering correctly that something similar happened before?
Am I remembering correctly that something similar happened before?
Are you changing the introduction and audio for every episode of your edit?
I hope you have plans to complete your edit while you are still alive. Sarcasm aside, the constant improvements are much appreciated.
Broom Kid,
I apologize if my post came across as aggressive. Unfortunately, the internet does not allow us to show emotion or intent.
I am glad about what you are attempting to do. I will be looking at your upload in a bit here. However, I think it could be useful for some of your changes where cuts and trims are made to show a before and after so we can get a sense if the cuts feel natural and flow smoothly.
My impression here is that you are making your own edit with Hal’s as a base, correct?
Hi Broom Kid,
Very excited for your changes.
I think you made enough changes for a new thread. I also do not want Hal’s thread to get sidetracked here. I would like for him to retire from editing like he stated a while back. He has contributed more than enough to the fan editing community.
Anyway here are some thoughts for possible additional changes (I am open for people to tell me why they disagree):
I think an opening crawl could be helpful and make this movie feel more like another Star Wars “episode” and Part 1 of 2 of a New Hope.
I would cut Lyra telling Jynn to trust the force. Why would their family care or be aware of the force anyway?
Later in the movie, I would cut or trim Jynn praying with that necklace she received from her mother. She is not a force user nor should she have any familiarity.
Check out the new created line for Krennic discussing the Geonosians. This could be a possible addition, but there would be an obvious lip sync issue and hard to realistically fit in.
I think Saw was portrayed as excessively eccentric. I think he should be toned down a bit to appear more stable and similar to his Clone Wars form. Much of his eccentric behavior was removed with the early Bohdi scenes. Maybe cut using his breathing apparatus before Jynn. This content really made me cringe.
Not sure about this, but a potential trimmed reinstatement of the scene where Bodhi was dragged in front of Saw.
Best of luck on this edit.
ANYWAY: If you need 5.1 audio for both “Fuck the Empire” and the re-voiced Vader/Krennic scene lemme know, I can shoot that over to you no problem
Are you referring to the Ryan Golden Vader voice on YouTube?
- Force new users through a rules acknowledgment step, especially emphasizing “no link requests.”
I think this should be universal for all fan edit forums. It will prevent a lot of confusion for new users.
I would not take the attacks over at the Fanedit Reddit forum personally. A few of those folks tend to get a bit puritanical when editing certain movies.
Besides, my fanedit philosophy has always been that if you are not interested, then no need to comment or attack. We have way too many real problems in this world to get upset over fan edits.
Anyway, I have enjoyed some of your edits. Keep up the solid work.

Someone made an AI video right after the twilight of the apprentice episode of Vader having a brief discussion with the emperor. I wonder if this can be animated by someone to be incorporated into the Rebels series. I know that would be highly unlikely though.
I have been eagerly looking for this for a long time.
I think a few months back you were going to have Vader’s fighter light speed away after getting shot by the Falcon. Is that still accurate?
Is it realistic to wrap up all the plot threads that go unresolved?
Either way I am fully on board with your focus being on Andor. I fully expect it to have stronger content versus Bad Batch season 3.
I am interested in the new Maul show. However, I think the show is effectively redundant with what we got out of Maul in the Clone Wars.
He becomes head of a crime syndicate, takes on a new apprentice, and then inevitably loses everything.
This is effectively the same plot.

This animated preview of Son of Dathomir could be something to pay attention to as it could be very relevant for this edit.
I agree that version B just feels more natural.
On another note, do we really need Finn’s constant interruptions? It breaks the flow and tension.
Best of luck any way this turns out.
Years ago I proposed that the film started with Luke on Dagobah completing his training by creating his lightsaber telekinetically. Yoda dies, having trained Luke and not just in mid sentence. Luke returns to Tatooine only to discover that in her inpatience Leia has already attempted to rescue Han and failed. Luke then has to rescue the rescue. It means shifting some scenes around and construction of new shots. But the technology to do so is almost upon us.
You actually don’t need new shots (If you assume Luke has been training the whole time and built his lightsaber sometime between V and VI). That’s pretty much how my cut runs. You just need a new crawl that says Luke is now a full Jedi Knight and will soon leave Dagobah to join Leia in a daring plan yada yada. If you wanna see that section I can render it out and post a link.
*It looks like you posted thus multiple times by accident.
I personally would love to see how you worked this out.
The Padme’s father scene is really quite good. If you look at it carefully, it does look off. However, a casual viewer probably would not notice anything if they were not staring off to the side.
Working with acbagel to align this show with his excellent Way of Mandalore is absolutely spectacular news. This whole edit has taken leaps and bounds these last few years. Every time I think there cannot possibly be more, we get a new surprise.
Best wishes to both of you on the edit and your personal lives as well.
This is a solid work print here.
I think for the musical score it should be changed up a little bit. I think some aspects of this variant Vader theme would work after Boba informs Vader:

I also like the opening voiceover and flying through hyperspace in this animated version of the Vader-Boba interaction. It really draws in your attention right away and gives the audience a quick introduction to Boba and his mission. It could work.

==> One way or another, thank you for the work and looking forward to the finished product. I am glad someone is attempting to get this nice moment into a live action scene.
Will there be major differences between the movie(s) and episodes?
==> Thank you for the continuous hard work. Always appreciated.
You snuck in some fairly serious news in there g00b.
Nice to know you are working on the clone wars canon series. Looking forward to it.
The stuff posted was impressive.
I am in Los Angeles and consider myself “fortunate” to only have a blackout the last two days and hope this is the worst of it.
Unfortunately, people have died and thousands of people have lost their homes with nearly everything they had.
The color correction in the photos look solid.
I do like your stated intentions in the post about the over-explaining problem in this movie. Eliminating the entire opening sounds good. It helps getting that same information gradually as the movie goes on.
HOW DARE YOU REMOVE MAUL! . . . this is a joke. 🤠
I was wondering about other possible cuts you made:
There were various cuts like these that I think worked well in the edit of this movie by Digmodification.

Did you change the origin of how he got the name Solo?
I think the movie could use a title change and even an opening crawl (if feasible). The title “Solo” is not something that makes you think, “I want to watch this.” Also, Star Wars movies are always better with the crawls in my view.
Examples of both would also be in the edit by Digmodification.
Anyway, please do not take these as demands. Just curiosity. Always happy to have more fan editors explore their personal visions.
I think he is updating all the animations for consistency throughout. That will take some time.
It will be a while for the rest of the Thrawn trilogy, but the wait is worth it considering the quality.
As long as the same people are involved I agree completely.
In the world we live in throwing more money at something does not mean better results.
https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Phantom-Menace-edit-Jar-Jar-RE-DUBBED-Completed/id/70825
I would check out the redubbed Jar Jar and Neimodians in English. I think it mostly works. It is much more convenient than heavy use of subtitles.
