One minor nuisance I have for this movie is Leia’s line too Tarkin before the destruction of Alderaan about him “holding Vader’s leash.” I know it was meant to insult him, but it implies that Tarkin outranks Vader in the chain of command.
I think many of us look at Vader as only taking orders from the emperor.

I thought Adywan had a great idea at some point in the past when he discussed his ideas for the prequels. I forgot exactly what he said, but in the Phantom Menace, the purpose of the Naboo treaty would be to extract resources that would secretly be used in the cloning process. Those resources would go through the Trade Federation to avoid directly implicating Palatine in any nefarious plot if they are caught.
This would be the way to solve a serious plot hole in that movie that does not involve speculating about Palpatine’s real motives and plans - considering he became chancellor in spite of everything he tried failing badly.
AI plus other tools used should be able to generate something along these lines. Perhaps Palpatine briefly discussing this with Nute Gunray would work?

Does it ever drive you crazy at the number of times you watch the exact same material? You must have watched the entire show countless times over the years, and that does not not include the number of times you rewatch specific segments while editing.

Someone made what you are requesting regarding Anakin unloading his feelings to Palatine instead of Padme. It is a bit clunky, but it does work better from a narrative standpoint.

I had a chance to watch this, and will share some thoughts.
I do not have the best expertise on this, but I did not notice any jarring cuts or audio issues considering all the cuts, rearrangements, and new audio inserted. That was a plus.
This edit was a fun and fast-paced movie. A major factor in this was the significant reductions in the action scenes. These were dragged out in the regular show, and I suspect because of the need to hit a minimum runtime. In a fan edit, that concern goes out the window.
I thought the AI voice change for Dryden’s character to match his live action counterpart was largely well done. I am not so sure that the reptilian voice for Daki adds anything positive or negative, but maybe someone else will find it interesting.
The complete removal of the Pykes subplot was done smoothly. Looking forward to season 2, I suspect we will not revisit the Pykes considering in the Solo movie Dryden mentions a tenuous truce with them. I suspect that means we will not see any further hostility from Maul against them. Therefore, it’s unlikely that removing the Pykes will be a problem in the future.
Removing the Mandolorian subplot was mostly well done. However, I did find their absence a bit jarring considering a large number of Maul’s gang just disappear at the end without explanation. I would be be curious to see if a first time viewer would notice their absence. Perhaps leaving a portion of them getting blown away could help this.
I think the tip to Lawson from Daki could be trimmed further. It came across as awkward that Lawson would flip flop on accepting the anonymous tips a few seconds after he was told that it was directed towards him. He can just accept it without dispute.
I did miss the Maul visions in the tunnels. These were not essential to the overall plot, but I thought added critical emotional depth to his character without needing to watch or read outside material. The childhood visions give critical insight into how Palatine abused Maul in his childhood that robbed him of his innocence. It demonstrates to the audience why Maul is a damaged person.
In my prior comment, I noted that I thought would miss some of the removed Lawson family material. After watching this, it was not as notable as I expected. You kept in just enough to avoid any plot holes or potential problems with the 2nd season as I suspect Mrs. Lawson and Riley will play much larger roles. I do believe more screen time for Riley and the one appearance by his mother could assist in setting them up for the future a little bit better. However, this material contradicts your stated goal of focusing on Maul and Devon.
Overall, this was a nice cinematic experience. From the opening crawl to the closing with the standard Star Wars credit music. I enjoyed this and hope others can give this a chance as well. Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work.

Thus guy is showing his AI as a tool can greatly enhance filmmaking. I hope this can be used as a model mixed in with real human actors and creators to bring filmmaking to the next level.

I am definitely interested. I have not seen this in a while, but there were strong moments that were heavily dragged down by too much excess baggage (much like the counterpart CW shows)- such as the romance you are removing.

Removing the Mandolorian “rebellion” is an obvious plotline to remove as it just ends with them getting killed by the Empire as opposed to Maul. That was a let down.
I thought plenty of the action sequences and lightsaber duels were dragged out. More good choices.
I am personally neutral towards the Pykes removal, but I did believe the Lawson family feud added extra flavor to their characters even though I did feel it got dragged out a bit.
The potential voice changes, if they work, would be nice - in particular the consistency for Vos to align with Bettany’s voice in Solo.

Once again, I realize this edit isn’t “for me”, but at some point there comes a time where these fan-edits Ship-of-Theseus an Academy Award-winning film into something that its not, and that will always rub me the wrong way.
I usually do not like to attack others, but it looks like you just created an account on this website only to attack somebody else’s fanedit. This is an entirely harmless hobby. Nobody is forcing you to watch this or waste your time on this forum. I doubt Lucasfilm designated you as the originalist protector of the original trilogy.
There is nothing wrong with exchanging and debating ideas - I have done so myself, and others on this forum do so all the time. If you have no interest in this, then please kindly do not come here just to say, “I don’t care about this and here is why.”
I do not think it would be much of a risk too give Din a noble death in an edit of the movie.
It is highly unlikely Din and Grogu make an appearance in Ahsoka season 2 next year. Season 1 of that show was a dud, and thus far the Mando-Grogu movie is not exactly shattering any box office records.
Lucasfilm has an extensive track record for not following through with planned movies. No guarantee that the Thrawn or another set-up movie ever gets released. This will become increasingly likely given recent disappointments in the Mandoverse.
Even if we do get the Thrawn movie several years away, Filoni will likely want Ahsoka and the Rebels characters taking the lead in the fight against him. I suspect Luke and the OT characters will play secondary roles in that movie. That leaves very little room for Din and Grogu. At best, they will have very minimal cameo appearances. They both could just be cut out in a future fan edit anyway.
By all means proceed with your preliminary plans for this. Star Wars really could use characters dying off in a dignified manner given its history of characters repeatedly surviving fatal injuries.
Both very nice. However, the sandcrawler one is a bit too dark. It looks like the whole screen goes black about 12 seconds into the clip you posted.

I think it is nice personally, but my eyes do not notice as much of a difference with animation as compared to live action.
Smudger, I am curious to see your cut list when you have the chance. The show has about 3.5 hours of runtime without the intros and credits.
I know you mentioned all those lightsaber duels. I can easily see about half an hour cut there - there were too many of them and they dragged out. It’s the other half hour that I am curious about. I only watched the show once so I lack the familiarity of what should be cut elsewhere, such as drawn out scenes and excessive or redundant dialogue.
What replacement music did you use?
Also, I really want to express thanks and gratitude that someone is cleaning this up to fit into the movie rather than a video game.
I really enjoyed the first season, but a few things really annoyed me.

Did Maul need to have his robotic legs damaged 5000 times? We get the point.
Maul, who was trained as a Sith lord since his childhood, cannot handle the inquisitors? I never liked the inquisitors when introduced in Rebels, but Maul’s inability to take them out made them way too powerful. That leads to my next major problem.
Too many drawn out lightsaber duels that end up in stalemates. You could cut them mostly out and nothing would be missed.
A few others already mentioned it, but the appearance of ‘Him’ was pointless. My favorite aspect of the show was the characters. Why bring ‘HIM’ in to just be a silent very scary generic monster? His only purpose in the finale was to kill the Jedi master to push Devon over the edge. This could have been accomplished with the same result by the inquisitors. Please only bring in this legend if it lead to his or Maul’s character development.
Please do not kill yourself over a fanedit. If it takes a few more months everybody here will understand and accept it.

What changes did you make to the crawl?
A major issue I had with this movie was that it took way too long to be introduced to the hero of the trilogy. I suspect you likely thought about it, but what are your thoughts about the deleted Luke binocular scene? I always felt just showing him briefly with a condensed portion of the scene looking up sends a strong signal to the audience that Luke will be important to the story.
Did you make any changes to the droids magically walking through an onslaught of blaster fire?
When you say you removed Tarkin interrupting Vader, do you mean his order to stop the choking? (I think that is a good change - Vader should only answer to the emperor.)
Did you make any changes regarding the stormtrooper search for the droids when they knock on a door and leave because there was no answer? I always thought that was a bit too much satire for my liking.
Considering you mentioned some level of continuity with the prequels, and you likely thought about it, what are your thoughts about the
scene 38 reimagined? I know some of the common valid criticisms such as CGI characters, inconsistent color and background sets with the movie, and other issues.
Overall, the gallery images look stunning and other changes listed look good. Keep up the good work and it definitely looks like a job well done.
Should adywan abandon these revisited edits given that he seems to have ongoing chronic health problems these last few years? His health is not worth the physical and mental exertion required to finish these.
