Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Another Happy Sanding. (Released)
Time

Octorox,

I am not entirely sure what to say here because the link to your cut list is not working for me. I do not want to vex you with recommendations that you have already incorporated. So here are some possibilities that may or may not work with what you are looking for.

 • If you want a much darker ending, you could incorporate some of the Vader lines similar to this clip where he indicates Padme “means nothing.” The musical score needs to be restored and some words can be trimmed out.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Li9FA3I5zqw

 • I have always felt that as much of Grievous coughing as possible should be removed. It makes him too much of a sideshow. I would also suggest removing Windu labeling Grievous a coward who hides when talking to Palpatine. This helps make Grievous a more serious villain.

I am not sure if you would also include the deleted scene as upscaled by Bobson Dugnutt where Grievous assassinates Shaak Ti as well.

 • Remove Windu labeling Anakin as “young” during the Jedi council scene. Likewise, remove Windu’s later line calling him a boy on the gunship while talking with Yoda. If my understanding is correct, you incorporated elements from the New Canon Cut where Anakin is referred to as a general. A general should not be referred to as ‘young’ nor a ‘boy.’

Ahsoka (live action series) - general discussion thread

Vladius, you raised several excellent points about Luke Skywalker - where in the Star Wars galaxy is he?

How could your primary protagonist, and hero of the the Original Trilogy, basically become an afterthought in these shows that take place shortly after ROTJ?

I mean, Luke was supposed to be the last Jedi and rebuild the Order, except for the fact that we now have Jedi magically popping up on every block. There was an obvious storyline here that people would go for as you stated.

Can we please make Luke a bit more useful in the post OT shows and movies? Is there a reason why Anakin will not talk about his own son that brought him back to the light on this show?

Animated Adaptation of Star Wars: Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn
Time

https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIXGhtpYcgXdpREUecruJR1Yy3h8w4d-s

I am not aware if a thread was made for this, but a YouTuber named DarthAngelus made an animated series based on the work of Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn trilogy. It is ongoing project and continues to be developed.

I thought this was very well done considering it was made from scratch. I wanted to bring this to the attention of this community who may find this as the “original” sequel to the OT.

I am curious to hear some thoughts (particularly from editors) about the quality of this work.

The Clone Wars: Refocused [COMPLETE] - Renewed focus on your requests!
Time

Patali,

If you are looking for a very solid Rebels edit that removes the silliness you referenced, then I would strongly recommend asking g00b if he knows one that solves most of those issues. I suspect he may know of an edit out there that removes the childishness, filler episodes, and gives you the high quality “meat” of the show so you and the wife can enjoy it in the quickest way possible.

g00b definitely knows an editor who really put his heart into the edit of the show, and went through multiple versions where he always kept providing constant updates to make the show as close to perfection as it possibly can. 😉

As for the Clone Wars, I do not have anything further to add because g00b’s post effectively why the EddieDean Clone Wars is by far the best bet. I will say this though, Eddie clearly spent a significantly larger amount of time editing his Clone Wars series than most other editors will do on a movie or TV show. He put his heart and soul into it. That, I believe, was a major factor as to why his edit is a masterpiece.

(The Mandalorian+BoBF) The Way of Mandalore | A New Mandalore Movie Saga (v3 Release Out Now)
Time

Book 5 was a masterpiece much like your other work. It was hard to notice Grogu missing with the VFX work that was done. You clearly had to put forth quite a monumental effort to get that done. Excellent work. You can really feel quite the time lapse going through the various battles with imperials, pirates, and the adventure into Mandalore. This is a must see for everyone.

The heavy restructuring of the saga by and large flowed rather smoothly.

There a few minor issues that may be addressed in a future cleanup, but not really major:

 • I thought it was a bit awkward for the New Republic pilots to stop Din for flying next to a commercial ship after he flew back down to Tatooine and back up.

==> It may be best to have the flyover moved over to the moment where he leaves Tatooine. You can jump straight to the pirates while he is testing the ship.

 • I liked having the pirate space fight outside Tatooine. However, I thought it was a bit strange that they would be there all the way from Nevarro without any explanation considering that is where it originally took place.

==> Would it be possible to quickly slip in some dialogue such as, “We have been tracking you.” One of the pirates can mention that to briefly explain how they knew Din was on Tatooine.

 • As we approach the ending, the volume of the soundtrack noticeably increased to a point where it became very difficult to hear a few words of dialogue between Ahsoka and Luke.

==> A slight decrease in the soundtrack while they talk should get this cleaned up. There is no issue with the soundtrack being louder in of itself.

Ahsoka (live action series) - general discussion thread
Time

Based upon some of the reviews here, it appears this show is becoming what I somewhat expected - disappointing. I was expecting it to come across as boring, and use the characters primarily for nostalgia baiting those who liked Rebels rather than telling a compelling story.

We know the folks of Disney can tell a good story if needed (see Andor). Andor also benefited from the fact that there was no motivation to force nostalgia in your face. Also, thanks to some of the good folks around here, the weak points of Andor were edited out to make it better (with Smudger’s being my favorite, but I believe all the Andor edits are solid). I will only watch an edited Ahsoka, but I was hoping a fanedit would be used more for tweaking a few weak areas rather than having to “fix” it. I would like the show to stand on its own merit.

I am happy for those who enjoy it. It is fine to have different tastes. However, based on the spoilers I read and saw, this is probably not the show for me.

Return of the Jedi Fan edit
Time

As I was looking through some of my old posts, I bumped into this thread.

It appears as though you toned down some of the more “radical” changes. The edit will no longer have scenes rearranged (Dagobah at the beginning) or other major changes such as Boba Fett’s involvement at Endor, and starkiller base.

While I am slightly disappointed, I am speculating that you had a change of heart along with time constraints. Your changes could have taken years potentially to pull off. Keeping the story largely intact obviously simplifies the process so you do not open up a new set of problems with each major change.

I do really like some of your subtle changes involving the plaques and cylinders. I commend that excellent attention to even the minute details.

I am looking forward to this (and your potential Rogue One) edit when released.

The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread

I don’t remember if it was someone here or on YouTube, but someone achieved this exact idea before, so it is definitely doable without voice Ai or anything.

EDIT: I did find a version of this idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GvpT_7BMAc

This is a great find. The dialogue of him indicating that he knows the power of the dark side can effectively “justify” his outburst as a display of power - for those who want to keep in the rampage he displays in a future edit.

CAN ANYONE THAT KNOWS 3D HELP ME?
Time

Were you ever able to receive support for this request?

I wonder if the 3D modeling you are referring to can be learned. The website Humble Bundle is offering a couple of software deals that may be relevant here for $25. One is for several courses to learn 3D modeling and the other for Unreal Engine, which could potentially be used in the scenario you are looking for.

I wonder if somebody else with more knowledge could provide more information. I may learn this on my own if I could open the necessary free time in the future.

Revenge of the Sith: Refocused - a Clone Wars: Refocused Companion Edit (v3.03 Available now)
Time

This edit of ROTS is certainly unique in that there are a few others that are super extended versions, but this one incorporates ideas from others for the purpose of improving the story to give us the Anakin of The Clone Wars series.

I would like a link at your earliest convenience.

I also have a question that is hopefully not a stupid one as I am just learning that you incorporated an edit by Crimson Maul of Vader confronting the temple guards. Did you include exactly what is in the published YouTube video or were any changes made, even if very minor?

Hal’s Rogue One edit (a half-assed version of DigMod’s) (Released)
Time

Waiting for Andor’s next season is a good call. Unless I am grossly mistaken, the final season has a timeline of a few years to lead into Rogue One. I just hope it is not significantly delayed by Disney’s current issues and the Hollywood strike drama.

As for Vader’s voice, can anything be done using AI to replicate Jones’s voice from A New Hope? I can see where Hal is coming from wanting to use the actual voice of JEJ. I wish it were possible to use his younger voice.

ROTS 4K HDR Regrade

This is neat. Are you doing this with the deleted scenes as well, or just the theatrical movie?

Tbh I tried originally upscaling the deleted scenes using Topaz, but the results were very janky. And even still, there isn’t an HDR release of these deleted scenes to go along with this. It sucks cause I think the deleted scenes especially in ROTS make it 10x better and tie in neatly with Rogue One/Andor.

It is unfortunate that these deleted scenes were left out of the theatrical release. However, for your personal viewing pleasure, I would recommend the Bobson Dugnutt expanded edition that incorporates the upscaled deleted scenes in case you may be interested.

Good luck on this project.

Wow. I am little late to the party here, but these look amazing. Take as much time as needed to complete the trilogy DrDre. Thank you so much for giving us possibly the best versions of the extended edition even after I see you worked on the theatrical releases.

I wish it was legal for us to support your work. An excellent enhancement for a truly spectacular trilogy.

Thanks for the work you are putting in. However, the link directs to Luke eating instead of any saber training.

I apologize if I am confusing things here.

Revenge of the Sith - Vader Edition (WIP)
Time

I think Vader having his tantrum in the suit in front of Palpatine simply does not work. I agree with g&gfan that Vader is better suited hiding his feelings from the emperor as it fits with OT Vader.

However, if someone could perform VFX work to have Palpatine leave the operating room, then at that point Vader’s rage could be justified as he now can do it privately. I am not so sure if someone would be willing to go through all that effort though.

Star Wars Rebels Recut - A Fanedit TV Series
Time

It could get a little ugly, but your best bet may be to mix and match her different lines. That could also get disjointed based on the tone and inflection of her voice.

Here is a line from S1, Ep. 15:

“Maybe this mission doesn’t make military sense. But Kanan is family. And we’ve all lost enough family to the Empire. So rescuing him makes sense to me. I’m not ordering you, any of you, to come along. But you need to decide now. In or out?”

You could find her mentioning Fulcrum elsewhere and get a line like this: “Fulcrum is ordering you to come along this mission. In or out?”
