Legend - Lost 125 min Director's cut (Released)
Time

Attention…

The anonymous editor of DUNE Redux 2022 has struck again with a new version of the 125-min. edit of LEGEND. With certain exceptions, this combines nearly all footage from all four versions of the film, incl. the TV prologue (with narration), the original workprint opening, and the ending of the UK cut (without the final shot of Darkness in the US version), and although a majority of the film has the original Jerry Goldsmith score, there are a few scenes with the Tangerine Dream score that had to be left there for artistic reasons, but otherwise this is the most complete version possible without compromising any of the three different existing endings.

If interested in it (and I have seen it, by the way), PM me.

Hey. Has anybody seen this trailer before? It’s really good.

The person who uploaded it says he found it on an old UK rental tape. Do you think it would be possible to add this on to the extended director’s cut dvd, if the footage could be acquired?

This trailer is now available (in remastered form) on the new Arrow Blu-Ray release of LEGEND.

I have seen this so-called edit on archive.org . Beware ! This is not the Selutron edit and does not contain the revised changes you saw on Oliver Harper’s vlog. This is apparently the work of one other fan who had too much time on his/her hands. This is one fan’s way of combining the theatrical cut with the Donner version. Wait a bit longer, folks, before attempting another version of S2.

Huh? What about the VFX changes that Selutron did? Were they just select scene tests to pitch a conceptualized idea, or are they scenes from his project?

They were scenes from his project.

D U N E - D E L U X E E D I T I O N ( R E L E A S E D )

I already gazed through the DUNE SE and have now seen just about every fan edit of the film that attempts, in their own way, to do justice to what David Lynch himself would have come up with had he been given Final Cut.

By now, however, most of you fans will have seen a new edit that is out there that attempts to merge all known available footage shot by Lynch into a 185-min. cut. While the structure is based on the SpiceDiver cut, it otherwise does it’s best to avoid the controversial edits and changes of the Allen Smithee TV cut while providing a cohesive story to order to be the most complete version of the film possible within the digital realm. Sections of the male narration heard in the Smithee version had to be left in for continuity purposes. Plus, most of the intended Toto musical cues have been restored here and there, most notably in the Sandcrawler, Betrayal, and Paul Kills Feyd scenes.

The creator of this edit produced this in response to the upcoming Koch German deluxe import which will include two extended cuts—one the Smithee cut (for the first time in an HD format), and a second extended cut whose details are not yet revealed except for the people behind this new set. The new 185 min. edit was intended by its creator for those fans who may be unable to get the Koch set, possibly due to region lock.

Now that you understand, I can tell you I do have this edit. If any questions, PM me.
