He originally planned to have one, but shortly before it was finished he said he ran out of space and had to drop it. So no, there is not an Easter egg on the DVD-5.

I did not bother to check because I thought I had read the same thing about running out of space as C3PX did. It is a full DVD....and the 3D Jaba scene is fun

It looks like just about 10 to 13 more files on the REPACK version being uploaded.....and it will be on. Hopefully I will get to download tonight so I can watch in the morning like Old-School Saturday Morning Cartoons....but with Stars Wars Revisited

Ady,
I wanted to know your humble opinion on......How do you feel having fans all over the world? I think I have now heard from over 100 people just in Texas wanting copies of this thing and now from Atlanta as well. The NTSC version is being downloaded and copied in huge numbers. I had asked the question a page or so back but it got caught in the bickering that I apologize for

gavin77 - EDIT: carbonunit beat me to it and actually posted the link I saw the other day......gotta love the peeps here

I use Easynews.com.....since it is web based you do not a client that works on MAC. You could also use giganews as well. Same type of situation.

Both sites have a small monthly fee...usually priced by GB.

A few pages pages there were a couple of posts that had links for people new to news groups and I think it had a list of the different places to sign up as well as other instructions.

I have been using easynews for several years now and the only problem I have had with them is recently......they do not show incomplete files anymore....and the first posting of the NTSC version had some incompletes and it was hard for me to get those few so I could repair them. I ended up using a client to connect to easynews as they had the files.....just do not show them in their web interface.

Hope this at least gets you going

The more I think about Empire and Ady Talents.......there has never been much that really bothered me about Empire.

I can't wait to see what Ady does here though......

More AT-ATs & AT-STs

The ateroid chase cleaned up more....can still see the squares around the TIEs.

Would be cool if Obi-wan's ghost did not touch "real" objects when Talking to Luke..........oh wait....is that only in Jedi when he actaully touches the foliage hanging down....that is always caught my eye

Fix Han's shirt before getting frozen.....

Hans Tongue going down Lea's throat Just kidding.....

This is all just too exciting!!!

Not here.....but I did put the files on a USB drive and gave it to a friend with a MAC.......I will see is he used his MAC or his Windows box tomorrow and post back!

Wow.....in less than a week I have given a physical copy of this edit to almost 25 people and not a one has been less than thrilled about this thing. I gave copies of the Xvid to over 40 people.....most included in the 25 previously mentioned and it has rekindled this Texas land back to the feelings of 1977 all over again. I just got 6 more emails requesting copies. And yes......I am paying for every one of them because this edit is more than worth it.

I now have 7 friends with HD-DVD players that I told to wait a few days and I would get them a copy now that will play on their machines as well.

This is going to be a great Star Wars Year!!!! Revisited......The Force Unleashed.......The Clone Wars Animated Series (In the Theaters no less).....Wow!!!!!

just read through the last few pages,I mean holy crap!

the only reason I still read this thread is for Ady's posts, and that is it,but there are always a bunch of whining, crying, demanding posts in between.

so let the flames begin on me all you want,we can compare contributions to the scene over the past several years, but please start a new thread for it,leave this one for Ady's comments and news.

thanks

What in the world are you replying to? I never said anything about the torrents, credits, or any of the whining Nor have I been requesting torrents, xvids, name in the credits....any of that. Actually I would agree with you on those.....but at the same time do you have to keep being the mommy and feeding into the bull?

Actually I was referring to your comments imediatley after I posted the playback problems I was having like it was YOUR thread and YOUR decision on how to handle any comments being made. I have seen how Ady can think for himself and is very well respected around here by you, I and well...everyone else here. I was merely stating about a problem I was having and then I watched you argue with BMadden over something you do not know anything about....since you do not have a player like that anyway. Each person on these threads contributes something different and you should set back and look at how you are taking others contributions. Just because you have a lot of posts does not really mean alot. From what I have seen you spend a lot of time bitching at the people bitching.......I would probably have alot of posts if I did the same.

I get tired of coming here wanting updates and seeing all of requests that have already been closed as well. I also get tired of after every comment YOU make after them saying, "Make the XVid yourself", or "Learn the News Groups", and so on. Just do not mind or reply to those posts.

Unfortunaltely in the end I am doing the same thing to you that you do to others and I apologize......I am just tired of you bitching out others constantly.......it must really stress you out.

I will not speak anymore to this and like I said.....I am just as tired as you are seeing the bull.....but when there are fans here posting true problems that were not even being requested to fix but to inform others.....take it for what it is and do not turn it into something you can use to lash out to show how many posts you have.

Well i'm pretty sure that it is the fact that the "put the system header on each pack" option is not available or even present in the NTSC template in procoder, but it is in the PAL template i created. So i have created a new template based on my PAL one. Because the PAL one plays ok in your HD-DVD player but not the NTSC one it looks like this is the problem. I know when i was doing test encodes my PS3 had problems playing the PAL tests if this option was un-ticked. I would have thought that the official NTSC template would have had this enabled by default especially with it not being present in any of the settings that could be modified in that template.

Ady....you are the man....Dark_jedi me had feeling bad for even bringing it up since he likes to police this thread and sometimes chastise those trying to help others know what works and what does not. I salute YOU for actually looking into it even though we did not ask you to. It is nice to know that you care more than most. I really do appreciate this extra effort as it does make since that you did find a difference between the PAL and NTSC settings. Obviously I will be downloading again and testing it on the 7 machines I tested on before a post the results.

On another note.....I have made over 20 copies of this DVD and everyday someone comes by my cube and comments on how fantastic this edit/DVD production is.....and these people are not crazy Star Wars fans like ourselves

Did you ever think you would have Fans in a Small City in Texas?

Well it has been reported that it works on the Xbox360 HD-DVD player both here ( the PAL version) and the NTSC version from someone i know in the USA so its looking more like the problem is lying with the Toshiba players

That is correct.....I have tested with NTSC 360, PS3, Sony Upconvert, Toshiba Upconvert, & my 3 Toshiba HD-DVD players.

Problem only exists on the 3 HD-DVD players.

and as far as hd dvd players being the best upconvert players in the market,I beg to differ there.

I agree....I am just a nerdy techy guy and wanted to figure out why I could not watch it on my 3 HD-DVD players.....as I am a perfectionist when it comes to my viewing pleasures

on your differ though.....do you have an HD-DVD player? I have several different upconvert DVD players as well as a 360 and a PS3 and none of those compare to the upconvert chipset on the Toshiba players. Actually the XA2 is the best one but I do not have one of those.

Dark_jedi,

Just to be clear.....I never stated I wanted Ady to "Fix" anything.....I would just like to understand why it is not working by knowing what was used to make the DVD. I have both Blu and Red and love them both and I am able to watch the DVD just fine on other players.....but the HD-DVD players are the best upconvert players on the market and would be nice to watch this masterpiece on it Blu players right now are still POS except for the PS3 and would not recomend anyone buying a stand alone Blu player until this summer. The Toshiba HD-DVD players are top notch and even though HD-DVD is dead....the players are cheap, the movies are now cheap, and they upconvert better than anything else you can buy.

Ady, Love you man and thank you soo much for your work and this DVD is fantastic.....I am not ranting about the problems I am having so you can work on it.....I wanted:
1. to make sure I was not the only having the problem with these particular players and
2. wanted to find out from you the software you used to actaully create the DVD. ----Thanks for the reply above...I was writing this while you replied

thanks again for the hard work and if anyone has any suggestions about making this work on HD-DVD player please share and I will give it a try.

Did you try Ady's suggestion of changing dvd player output to 60fps? I'm still at work (yes, working hard!) and would love to know if that helps at all...

Yes I tried that...I actually took all of the way down to 480p at 60fps on all 3 players.......and still the same thing.

I think it is a lost cause......must be the software on the HD-DVD player Vs. the software on the DVD its self

Ady, What software are you using to emulate the menus of the retail DVDs? The retail menus and movies play fine and yours look just like the retail ones but obviously something is different as well as the movie structure.

Is it a variable bitrate or constant?

Sorry for all of the questions.....but it is bothering me why it is not working. Usually it plays fine or does not recognize it at all....this is in the middle....recognizes fine...plays somethings fine...but mostly locks up.

More on the HD Front.....

Have now tried two other types of media and they all lock up in the same spot. I even tried different burn speeds.....it almost has to be how the DVD is structured....these players do not really understand it.

In the first menu transition you have you hit the Next button to get it continue to the actual choices of Play the movie....it actually freezes right after it shows "Revisited"

At 2:13 it locks up....what is weird is that the time counter stops at 2:13 but the movie plays to about 2:17 before it freezes.

Same situation at exactly 5:30 and then freezes at like 5:37.....I can only get to this by skipping chapters though.

I lied last night.....it does the same thing on three of my HD-DVD players HD-A2, HD-A20, & HD-A30 Last night I had a false positive on the A2.

It plays fine on my other units though(360,PS3, sony Upconvert DVD)......it just looks much better on the A20 and A30 than any other but cannot watch.

Covenant, So what is the HD-EP30KB equivalent to.....A30? Do you have the latest firmware updates?....I do and was wondering if one of the updates is what is messing this up.

I guess it could be an NTSC thing as mine will not play the PAL at all

If anyone has any advice or extra knowledge please share as I would love to watch it upconverted to 1080p/24

By the way, what type of blank media did you use? Some brands of blank discs don't work well on HD-DVD players(in my experience at least) and also it won't work well if you burned to a DVD+R instead of a DVD-R.

Memorex 16X DVD-R - I have been using these in the past and not had any problems with them......I do agree those players are very picking on the blank media. Do you have a recommendation of what has consistently worked for you? I usually just buy what is available but these players are just too picky......maybe Sony blank media would work best

Has anyone tried watching it on an HD-DVD player?

It locks up in the menus during the transitions and at 0:02:13 of the movie....once it locks up the first time it then locks up every few seconds.....scan forward a little and then it locks up again.

I have tried turning off all of the upconversion and such but no luck.

I have an HD-A30, HD-A20, & an HD-A2.

The only one it works on is the A2.......and also the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and the regualr Upconvert DVD player my Son uses. I like to test on many machines bucause I give copies to friends and like to tell what it will work on.

I watched(PS3) with the changes subtitle on.....very nice Ady

Very impressed again

I wish it would play on the HD-DVD player though....the picture looked superb in 1080p/24. On the PS3 I got 1080p/60 and of course did not complain

Have a good night all and enjoy this wonderful piece of work.......

Oh....the 3D jaba thing was cool.....it took me forever to find some old glasses......I found a pair from the past (JAWS 3 in 3D)

Here what is funny.....in the usenet guide I have been using the top ranked one for 3 years now and I am having problems with the incomplete files not showing up at all. I have plenty of experience with incomplete files but for some reason it is like EasyNews did not get the "incomplete" ....they think it never landed...or they do not show incompletes any more. So.....if someone would not mind posting the few files that are messed up in their fixed format I would appreciate it.....more pars will not help this problem. I already have everything but the parts 27-34 of the NTSC.

Thank you in advance to who ever could upload the 8 messed up files....I hate torrents and am not quite sure why EasyNews is not showing these incomplete files.
