Star Wars prequel comic - * now in Script Writing section *

All of those ideas are fine.. Still need an artist though. I can do stick figures, and that's about it..

Wasn't that, like, George's main mistake when he made the PT? That he focused primarily on the whole artistic aspect of those films?

It's easier to get help when you have quality material backing you up. So I say, forget about the artist. Get the story right 1st.

Maybe you should start off by gathering information on what people expected and wanted to see in the prequels. Write down ideas that you think can work and are acceptable in a Star Wars story.

After that, write a story outline. Post it on here and let others rip it apart - let them express their opinions and suggestions. And then - after the received criticism - rewrite your story outline and let them rip it apart again. And then again and again - until you have a story that is acceptable for at least 70% of the people.

It's impossible to please everybody, so you have to focus more on what you want. Cause, ultimately, it's gonna be your take on the Star Wars back story.

I wish you good luck with this and - just so you know - no one is going to judge you if you decide to drop this idea/quit this project. Cause it takes a lot of time and patience to create a good Star Wars story.

His critiques of these films run so deep - I am not sure how any fanedit can address the problems he finds, the ones which are clearly at the core of the problem with these films. Any thoughts on that?

Making them somewhat watchable is, I think,  the best we can do right now. There's just not enough resources to fix them...

Maybe if a studio took over - with CGI wizards, voice over actors and a decent budget - maybe then it would be possible to fix them.

Ok, I'm back with another suggestion. It's more of a question actually -

Why are Sith Eyes bad?

Aside form the fact that they weren't in The Original Trilogy and that in most cases it's used as a gimmick - why do we hate them?

They could actually serve the plot! They may be of some use. I was reading haljordan's post* about Why He Hates Prequels and - while I understand he's kind of a weirdo - he made a pretty good point -

... in the 80s lucas always said  anakin  was seducded  to the dark side through no fault of his own.  like a person who tries drugs.  they try it and then they become seducded by it because it is too powerful for them to handle or control. in the original return of the jedi script   ben tells luke  that "as a part of a jedis training he must confront and then  move past the dark side of the force and that anakin  when he confronted the dark side  became seduced by it because he thought he was strong enough to control it and in the end as with drugs it was too powerful for him to control and it took him over"  hence when vader would always go around saying  "if you only knew the power of the dark side"

If we go by this logic then in this scene, for example - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwpTE1ckgEs - Sith Eyes work every well. He becomes angry and lets the Dark Side take over - he just cannot control it. He's at a point where most of us would be pissed and vulnerable [for anger to take over].

And those Sith Eyes really help us imagine that there's some powerful force controlling Anakin.

What do you think?

I think bobgarcia has either run out of creative energy or has become bored with the project. It's too bad since most of his reworkings were the best I've seen.

Dude, come on. Taking a break is not a bad thing. It's like drawing. You can't draw 4 hours straight - you'll mess something up.

Draw for 2 hours, take a break and come back fresh. :) It's better that way.

So I was watching ABdirector's  Alternative Ending of ROTJ -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTYYzwf2anA - and I was thinking:

at the begining, those flying asteroids (or whateverthefudge they are) that are flying in the viewer's face - they look pretty cool, don't they?

How possible would it be to incorporate something like that in the ROTDS' crawl?

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the original - it's awesome. But if Bob is thinking about changing/altering the opening crawl  - then maybe this can give him some kind of inspiration.

I just like the idea of trying to create a feeling of flying/traveling forward into another universe. That kind of fits with the opening " A long time a go in a galaxy far, far away... " line. There's this line and then BAM! ... STAR WARS!!! ... and we're moving forward, all excited and stuff. XD

^Fixing that is ok, but the one up there isn't? ;) This is about nitpicking, you know... There are things Adywan and others have found that even hardcore nitpickers have missed and yet he's fixing some of them anyway.

Man... just when you thought the ESB was a flawless movie - you find all these goofs and errors. Just imagine how much work is there to be done with ROTJ... not to mention the prequel trilogy! But, OK, that's off-topic. What I wanted to say was - kudos to Adywan for trying to fix all these things. That's some serious patience right there.

Inspiring stuff.

Darn it! I just took a look at it and... I can't get it out of my head! It's there! Every time! Why?! Why did you show it to us? XD

It's not exactly a problem for me, so if it stays - it stays, but it would be cool if it got fixed.

I'm down for whatever. :)
