Let me get this straight:

Eccleston was pretty excitable. It's actually one of the things I liked about him.

Then Tennant comes along, and he's just as excitable, but less little kid-ish about him

And Smith is even more kid-ish than 9 or 10? I've managed to avoid any previews of 11, hardly the impression I got from the plot I've gleaned (its hard to be 4 years behind on a show).

Eccleston was more thuggish than excitable. But he would get excitable at times.

Tennant was a lot more excitable and running around-y than eccles.

Smith is like tennant X 2 on acid turned up to eleven. I do like his doctor sometimes though.

Read the whole thing. Like the interplay between Skywalker and Kenobi, the action opening was a good choice, and the ship going to light speed and tearing up the clone vessel was a great touch.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed those bits.

Certain elements feel a tad too reminiscent of ANH, so it might help to go a different route with them. Maybe the ship they get looks great, but runs terribly in contrast to the Falcon. The test with Anakin isn't him with his senses blocked, but perhaps overloaded with either sight or sound so he has to focus his abilities and mind on one thing. Just an idea.

Cool, I think I think I'll try those ideas.

A decent portion of the dialogue has excess unnatural exposition but you already admitted that.

Yeah, sorry about that. My choice to not have an opening crawl meant that the characters had to talk about what the hell was going on.

Finally I think it would help to get just a bit more development between Anakin and Obi-Wan before they leave Tatooine. Doesn't really seem like the former sees so much force potential in the former, and that he's along because he's just a helpful pilot. I guess I just think that Anakin's decision to be a Jedi needs a seem a bit more meaningful, because it feels more like him choosing a career choice.

Maybe there could be hints of Anakin's force abilities for when they are packing to leave anchorhead. Or maybe on the way to mos eisley the speeder breaks down and they have to continue on foot, leading to more character development between the two. I do feel there needs to be more character moments between Anakin and Obi-wan before they arrive at the Fleet.

Overall I will say there's tons of potential with this.

Thanks again.

What other things do you think could be tweaked or changed?

Watched The Tree Of Life again today. 10/10 rocket frogs. God I love this movie, and find deeper connections and more allusions to other films and books each time I watch it.

Visually, it's a great movie.

But the story is just, bleeugh.

And it's overwhelmingly pretentious, but that's to be expected from Terrance Malik.

And it doesn't have any rockin' 50s tunes in the 1950s segments, which was disappointing. This movie needed a bit more Fats Domino and Bill Haley. But that's probably just personal taste.

Like 2001: A space Odyssey, I view this film as more a motion painting, than a motion picture. If that makes sense...

What do you LIKE about the EU?

The Last Command

*No spoilers*

I finished the Thrawn Trilogy last night with the completion of the third book The Last Command.  In a word - unbelievable!  Absolutely the best anything to carry the name Star Wars I've ever read.  Zahn has surpassed Daley as my go-to for personal canon.  This trilogy really captures the magic I felt back in 1977.  Command was particularly hard to put down.  The character depth of Luke, Mara, and Leia was fantastic. The character arc of Mara made the novel for me.  Zahn is definitely Star Wars for adults. No doubt the Thrawn Trilogy will be a yearly read for me.

Next up is Spectre Of The Past, which I started literally about 60 seconds after I finished Last Command, around 3:00 AM last night.  My EU and personal canon continue to grow. Reviews as the rest are completed.

Side note;  Last Command also carries a second distinction in my world.  It was my first foray into e-books.  My thoughts so far are that nothing can replace an actual book, but I was much more comfortable with it than I thought I'd be.

I have the Thrawn trilogy in paperback, but decided to give Kindle reading a try with Command so I could read later into the night without keeping anyone awake with my book light. It went well enough after a day, so I went ahead and downloaded Spectre and Vision.  I'll get used paperbacks for travel, but electronic is going to be fine also.

Glad you enjoyed it Anchor. Out of all three The Last Command remains my favourite (aside from the contrived Luuke Clone).

I peeled a few potatoes and a cucumber.

Who the hell peels cucumbers?!

Me, apparently.

Weirdo.

*proceeds to peel peppers*

But it was a demand request.

That's not an excuse! You still have access to common sense, don't you?

Obviously you've never been in xhonzi's kitchen.

Well, yeah. He won't let me in for some reason. Even when I do have clothes on...

After three minutes of hitting the remote it worked again. So I was able to watch The Walking Dead, but still so much:

I blame George Lopez for never being funny to start with...

Greenie, I am pretty sure Dav was saying that he thinks there should have been more than one Bond film with George Lazenby in it, hence the blaming him for only doing one.

^That

Oh... That movie had a cracking soundtrack, didn't though.

STAR WARS: The Oncoming Storm
Time

Hey, earlier today I was working on this script. I've pretty much typed non-stop on this. Reviewing it, some of it needs work. Also, it's not finished yet. But I thought it would be an Idea to post it, just to get your guys thoughts.

I also heavily, and shamefully rip-off numerous things as I don't have an original bone in my body (well, not all of my body) for which I apologise. Some of the dialogue needs work, and some scenes need to be longer, but you should get the gist of where I'm getting at. Most of the terrible dialogue and stupidity you can chalk up to lack of sleep and a particularly nasty headache.

Enjoy! (or don't...)

EDIT: Having problems uploading script. I'll see if I can upload it as a PDF somewhere...

EDIT: Sorted! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZENHWZHS

How would YOU re-do the prequels?
Time

For my prequel re-write I've been thinking about casting and stuff.

Due to the fact that nearly all the bad guys in the OT have English accents and the good guys have American accents, How about all the 'good guys' in the prequels have British accents and the 'bad guys' have American ones, because technically the 'good guys' aren't the bad guys yet... if that makes sense.

The higher up people would have 'BBC' accents, whilst the lower down people would have Welsh, Irish, Scottish 'cockney' and american accents. Maybe a couple of Canadians as well.

Also I've been thinking that filming for scenes that are set on the Clone's homeworld should be done in a quarry (a la Dr Who) It would give it a barren landscape... thingy.

Also, What do think of 'The Oncoming Storm' for the title for Episode One?
