I agree entirely! At least Fox had the right idea once upon a time... they would release the nice 'collector's' editions FIRST, then later when sales dropped they would re-release in a cheaper, single-disc version for the more casual movie buyer. But not now. I almost *always* wait a bit to see/hear if a better edition is coming out. Or I just buy the better edition from Amazon.UK (shipping isn't bad to the USA really).

whoops.... didn't know sorry...

I scanned it at 300 dpi and saved as a .PNG which came out to about 25 mgs, give or take. Is that about what you were looking for? Email me at : greencapt-at-yahoo.com and tell me where I can get it to you!

It *used* to be, but I'm not sure if it is still in print. There was even a pretty cool RPG based on it (not video game, pen and paper RPG) at the time. At its core it was a parody of Frank Miller's (creator of 'Sin City') run of Daredevil from the 80s. Hence the ninja bad guys (originally people NOT robots), the Sensei named 'Splinter' (Daredevil was trained in martial arts according to Miller by a Sensei named 'Stick'... get it?). In fact, if any of you are familiar with the origin of Daredevil (in the comics at least) and the Turtles they are the same 'event'- Young Matt Murdoch was walking down the street when a small canister of radioactive goo gets thown from a vehicle and hits him across the eyes. In TMNT, the canister falls down a sewer grating and lands on four poor little discarded pet turtles and a rat... mutating them into... well, you know.

OK, I know *I'm* a geek...

It wasn't *too* mature, but gritty and funny.

But do you remember G.I. Joe issues 27 & 28 ("The Origin of Snake-Eyes" parts 1 & 2)? Those were some great comics. Back when G.I. Joe was cool.

Hell yeah! They whole first couple of years were hot. After what, about issue 35-40 it became a little *too* toy advertisement-ish. I mean, yes they were toy ads but at least they were fun ones and Snake-Eyes, in black head-to-toe, will always rule!

PS: I still have my family trained to, whenever anyone says "And now I know..." to reply with:

c'mon Bossk! What is it???

Snake Eyes is a classic G.I. Joe character. He is actually a Ninja and armament expert who works for the good guys. Deafened in a Vietnam-era helicopter accident. Blood brothers with and studied ninjitsu with Cobra Ninja assassin Storm Shadow.

That came from an April Fool's joke, and they meant Spider-Man 3 not 2...lol. How a simple typo can ruin someone's joke! At least I didn't fall for Peter Jackson's 'Son of Kong' joke like many websites and one of my friends did.

It may have been, but I agree that the whole thing was not needed unless it played a major plot point. Might have been cool to have the poison from the dart make her shrivel up, like the nazi at the end of 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'. Of course that wouldn't have been needed either, but it would have made Jango look like a mean mamma-jamma!

Hi YodaIYF! I read you were looking for a copy of that image. If no one gets you one by tonight (USA eastern time) I'b be happy to scan the cover from my book if that's ok- or are you only looking for a 'clean' textless copy?

More Info On The Star Wars TV Series

I know that there’s been word on this whole Star Wars TV Series and that George Lucas went as far as confirming it, saying that one way or another Star Wars will continue. Plus, Lucasfilm's Jim Ward confirmed that a "Star Wars" TV series is on the way in the near future but didn't say when it would be a go. We’ve been provided with a little bit more information on the TV Series. Below is what our “Anonymous” source tells us.

First, I work for Hasbro. If you're not familiar with us - we do the Star Wars toys.

Without getting anyone's butt in trouble, especially my own, I wanted to let you know that there's a "Star Wars" TV series in the works - because we've just got the contract for the new line. Barrage of new characters in the show that I've never heard of (sans a couple), but someone said it's along the lines of 'Young Indiana Jones' and it could have Mark Hamill reprising his role as Luke Skywalker for several episodes. George Lucas is involved, but only in the creative sense. A Lucas Film rep told another of the guys here that they're going to be testing a mass of young actors for the roles. I'm keen myself to find out who's playing [hint] 'the original owner of the Falcon'".

We will keep you posted!

Thoughts? Lando? When the heck is this supposed to take place?

lol. I have to agree with Chaltab here. I *do* understand what trooper said about the lightning and the 'contest' aspects though- it slows the pace waaaay down. So may I suggest having Dooku make to leave... the Yoda footsteps and approach (still a nice dramatic moment), a quick reaction cut to Dooku and then back to Yoda drwaing his lightsabre... etc.

Just my 2 cents

It stands for 'Prime Minister'. You can relay a message to your country's Prime Minister and the PM will call you and let you know what the message is.

Just kidding- it stands for 'personal message' and its a system that you can send little in-forum 'emails' to each other.
Look for the 'message' indicator at the upper left-hand corner of your screen.

Hey no problem! I found that site a bit back and was floored by all the info there! Just about anything you want to know about encoding, decoding, recoding, precoding, mecoding, treecoding, dvdloading, etc can be found there... the mind reels!

LOL. True that! The problem is we have the LOUDEST pricks in the world, so those are the ones everyone else in the world sees and hears. The rest of us hide... in shadows.. lurking...

We mostly come out at night..... mostly.

This whole project still sounds cool! I'd offer voice as well, but I know what you mean about not getting them read the correct way. I'm an amateur director and have the same problems.

What if you did the read and used SoundForge to post-process your voice ever-so-slightly to keep the acting but to make it 'not you' so you can enjoy the experience some more.

Also, if you DO decide to redo alien voices maybe some of us could help out with that as A) it would save you from having to do all of them, B) those would be 'lines' could be trimmed or sped up/slowed if need be and C) it would just be fun!

Aha... once YOU were the Masters and *I* the learner! LOL

Gentleman, start your buying! Everyone take a look at which DVD you currently own... seriously the cheaper the better! Then hop on over to kindly ones at VideoHelp.Com. For DVD player 'hacks', start here:

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

You can enter in the make/model of your DVD player and see if there is a hack for it. Around Christmas, I went out to my local stores to see which players were currently available. The reason I said 'the cheaper the better' is that many of what we consider 'off-brands' here in the USA are really 'ON-brands' in many other countries- countries that often sell multi-region DVDs as mentioned above. So let's take the player I chose for instance. For $40 at Target I got a Daewoo DVG-9200N. Search for it and voila: Here is the info for that player

Read down, see peoples comment on which codes work and which don't and try the ones you feel safe with. On this player it was as easy as:

1) Turn on Player

2) Open Tray

3) With the remote, key in the numbers 1,3,7,9. They will appear as "X's" in the top left hand corner of the screen.

4) After keying in the numbers, promptly choose your region code you'd like, from 0-6. The region code you select will appear as a number, not as x's, as did the 4 number hack code.

5) Throw in a Region 2 Pal or NTSC dvd to try it out.

And it voiks lak a cham!

Since then I've bought different Region discs from all sorts of world-wide retailers. There's many UK programs and films I'm interested in. (everyone here at OT.Com HAS to see the series 'Spaced' from the same crew that did 'Shaun of the Dead'- there are some HILARIOUS SW references as well as other genre fanboy stuff) I've bought many a disc since then from Amazon.UK as they have decent shipping to the USA.

Anyhow, I digress.

You also want to look for if the player is listed as doing internal NTSC/PAL conversion. Just click on the 'DVD Compatibility' link and you'll get something like this:

Spec Page

On that page it'll tell you every bloody thing the DVD player plays, reads, encodes, etc. Look for a player that says 'Multisystem PAL/NTSC Convert' which will mean it can do internal conversion. Some players do better job at this than other. This particular Daewoo converts in true progressive scan while some others just interlace the converted image...

But perhaps I have spoken too much. LOL.
