Sith at the Oscars.
Time
My 2 (or three) cents:

I also doubt that ROTS will get any Oscar nods at all. That's just the nature of the beast and frankly there was nothing more or less remarkable in ROTS than any of the prequels before it.

As for 'Narnia', I liked the BBC series a lot and am looking forward to the film. To some degree I think the filmmakers have no choice in how the movie is sold and I agree they are trying to cash in on the LOTR success. If it gets butts in theatres than I suppose this is ok. I will see it but I hope they focus more on the story than on the trappings and scenery.

I too join ADM in the Aging Flatus Brigade (aka AFB) as I am 34. I also used to rent VCRs long before my family bought one. Ah the good old days.... when movies were movies... when music was music... and when you had to got to stores and BUY porn instead of being able to download it from the internet!

I'm surprised there weren't any listed. They list the one for 'B & R' (which I doubt would help my edit) but that's all.

Looks pretty nice!

svenge- I grew watching re-runs of the Adam West 'Batman'... pure cheese, but heck- I *like* cheese!

klokwerk- yeah, they scrapped the idea for Schumacher's director's cut for whatever reason. Probably they were afraid that it would be too much effort for something that too few people truly care about (much like I told BatmanMD when I started this prokect )

MBJ- *does the campy dance* Whoo-hoo!!

There has been LOTs of soundtrack tweaking, though I didn't use any music from previous films. Actually the majority of the themes in the film are very good- it was just what was going on on-screen that made them sound bad.

Very true! I think this helps actually. When I sat down to re-watch the film prior to edit, I took note of every time I cringed at a line, or a butt-shot, or an action. That and looking at what really *happens* in the story and what didn't need to be there.

BatmanMD tells the story much better than I do, but he was walking into the theater when I walked out of 'Batman & Robin'. He says I looked as if someone had just gang-raped my grandmother or something judging by my expression of shock.

I hadn't re-watched it until he encouraged me to try the edit. Now I've watched it *too* many times, but it actually improves each time.

Now keep in mind that there is just *some* levels of ass that couldn't be helped. But as ourly dearly departed engineer Mr. Scott said- "I'm givin' her all ah've got!"

So... uh... coffee is Satan? That explains a lot.

You only drink decaf, Chaltab? Then try to drink three large cups of strong black coffee at once... It'll be some 8 to 10 hours of intense fun.

He doesn't need LARGE cups... just three little cups of expresso.

Some of you may have seen over in the off-topic section that I was working on a fan (term used loosely) edit of the film ‘Batman & Robin’, possibly one of the worst films ever made.

What began as a challenge from my friend ‘BatmanMD’ grew into a quite fun project. I have taken ‘Batman & Robin’, tried to strip away as much ‘ass-ish-ness’ as possible and reconfigured it into a still watchable film. And much to my surprise… it worked!

I’ve asked BatmanMD to type me up a list of the major changes I’ve made (as he’s the Batman nitpicky expert) and I’ll post it soon. I’ll be sending copies out to a few key players for review and will try to make it available at MySpleen.

The running time has been reduced from its original 125 minutes to a lean, mean 63 minutes! Now THAT’S a lot of cuts. But oddly it not only works but works better!

BatmanMD has seen the 99.9% done cut and I’ll let him review it here as eventually I’ll encourage others to do.
