Seriously. You did. Do yourself a favor and buy or rent the season sets- start at the start as it were. I think if you can get past the jawlines you'll be excellently surprised. Best non-comic book adaptation of Batman IMHO.

Oh I fully expect that... trust me- I know lots of the people who go there. I actually toyed with the idea of making a line a t-shirts to sell while I'm there with sayings such as... 'Great. Just what the world needs- another f'ing Stormtrooper' or 'Hey fat Jedi- Why don't you use the Force to be able to see your feet?', etc.

Maybe they'll change it before the release.

I'd make a "General Superman Talk" thread but I figure nobody would bother with it at this point.

Well *I* still like Superman, and dissing 'Superman Returns'!

I forgot to say, HSvIJ, that I DID really enjoy Batman: The Animated Series! If the Burton/Schumacher films made *that* possible then their debt to society was paid for in full! I saw 'Mask of the Phantasm' in the theater as well and what a great film that ended up being.

"...its *only* a model!" heh heh.

Actually as we are in confessional mode of sorts let me chime in. NONE of the Burton/Schumacher moved me in any way, shape or form. Now I know that many people have profoundly moving experiences with the first two films and define their Batman experiences by them and I can understand and appreciate that. But for my tastes... meh. Now in '89 I was in about the height of my comic collecting and had been a Batman fan for some time. I even drove a batmobile- a blue '73 Buick Elektra with huge yellow bat-symbols painted on the driver's and passenger's doors. I like many people was stoked about the first film. What I wasn't excited about was the casting. Like many people I was wary about Michael Keaton and I was underimpressed by the idea of Jack Nicholson. After seeing the film I thought that Keaton made a decent Bruce Wayne but I didn't like his Batman. And I frankly hated Nicholson as the Joker.

Yes I know... blasphemy! But there were a couple things going on in my way of thinking:

1) By this time in his career Jack was not *acting*... Jack was being Jack. Nic Cage has the same problem right now. There's no technique involved... they just do their own thing which is what everyone expects from them. I never saw 'The Joker'... I saw Jack Nicholson being himself but with a horrible prosthetic mouth extension
2) The Joker of the comics was a skinny psycho. Jack was a tubby middle actor that everyone recognized. They should have gone with an unknown.

Actually until I sat down to re-edit 'B&R' I had NEVER watched any of the four Batman films more than ONCE completely through. I saw each on opening night in the theater and that was it. Yeah I've seen bits and pieces on the TV showings, but I never had any desire to see them all the way through again. Like I said- though I was a comic geek and all they just didn't do anything for me.

I very much enjoyed 'Batman Begins' though. I won't be like many people and say it was the second coming or anything but it was the first Batman film I've had the desire to re-watch and the first I've bought on DVD.

I'll ramble on more later.

Another child actor heads down the same old road...

****pppuuufffffff***** "Dude... pass it forward!"

Haley Joel Osment charged with drunk driving and marijuana possession

GLENDALE, Calif. - Teen actor Haley Joel Osment, who suffered a broken rib last month when his car struck a mailbox, was charged Thursday with drunken driving and marijuana possession, authorities said.

Osment's blood-alcohol level after the July 20 crash was measured at .16 percent, twice the legal limit, said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.

The 18-year-old actor was charged with misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence, marijuana possession and driving under the influence with the special allegation of having a blood-alcohol content of .15 percent or higher. He also faces a vehicle code infraction of being under the age of 21 and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .05 percent or greater.

Osment, who faces a maximum of six months in jail if convicted, was scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 19 in Glendale Superior Court.

His attorney will work with authorities to arrange a time for the star of such films as "The Sixth Sense" and "Pay it Forward" to surrender, Robison said. The district attorney plans to request that bail be set at $15,000.

DreamWorks spokesman and family friend Marvin Levy said Thursday the family would have "no comment at this time" on the charges. Levy said Wednesday that Osment has recovered from injuries that landed him in the hospital and is preparing to attend college in the fall.

The actor recently finished work on the film "Home of the Giants."

"He's fine. The injuries were slight, not serious," Levy said.

Authorities said Osment was driving home alone about 1 a.m. on July 20 when his 1995 Saturn hit a mailbox in the La Canada Flintridge area and flipped over.

The Things We Hate And Love Thread .

Makes me wonder all things considered- if boon23 wasn't involved in this whole stupid affair... would it ever have gotten this bad? I understand that there is somewhat of a language barrier in his posts but it reads (to me) as if most of the antagonism comes from him.

Jay=Paul?
DAYV=John?
boon23=Yoko?

And DAYV- I know you have other personal beefs with OT.com than just those that came up with boon23's friend's website but I do feel as if you may have been led astray... but you're an awesome guy so as long as you're being true to yourself that's all that matters.

Oh, and to stay on topic... I hate pooping in public places- but we all hate that.
