The suffix 'ling' means young or small so a Youngling is a "young young" or a "little little".

It's a daft as calling a woman a Femaletrix.

Hehe it's up there with He-Man. I never did quite get that name.

"I simply explained that this was a powerful figure that could be taken anywhere and dropped into any context because he had a generic name: He-Man!"

Just saw Ady's message on 005's blog.

Ady, I don't think you should bother with release dates. It just puts undue amount of pressure on you. Might be better to say it's done when it's done.

Do what you need to do. Everyone can wait a bit longer - it's not like we're going to stop loving Star Wars.

"The more you tighten your grip" and all that.

I can understand Ady being pissed off - it is his thread and it is april fools day.
He could have put it milder. But we all know Ady is going thru a tough time so can't really blame him for letting of some steam. Some leniency and perhaps a pm would have sufficed. It's been very poorly handled imo.

Love the look of the new bacta tank. I was never fussed about the idea that it should be a different colour, but it looks very cool.

Out of interest, how much more effort would it be to render the special features as a PAL disc as well? I just find NTSC jitter extremely distracting, even when the focus isn't on the picture quality, and it would "feel wrong" having a two-disc set in different formats. If it's a lot of extra effort on your part, then don't sweat it;but if it's mainly out of concern for viewer confusion, I think having the film available in both formats and the special features only in one would be at least as confusing.

won't the extras be on PAL dvd-9 as well?

I'm very happy with the format choice. I'm sure the community will help put out other formats to keep everyone happy.

Is this a real discussion or did I suddenly go into some strange bizzaro world for this edit where folks are talking about teeth? :p

Anal retentive or what!? I'm amazed some peeps on here made it more than 10 mins into any of the Star Wars Special Editions with all the gaffes/ CG atrocities and continuity errors - must make their heads explode!

I'm all for attention to detail but there has to be a limit. When peeps are asking for things like potato asteroid being removed, highlighting something that appears on a single frame and now this - then you've gone too far. Give adywan some credit. His work is amazing and his decision-making is spot-on. I hate for him to get bogged down on a single scene which is already awesome - when there is a WHOLE FILM to edit.

You know what I would add to the emperor that I think would distract from the lack of facial movement?  I a quick eye blink, a la the amazing eye work you already did on Yoda.

But know you, Ady, you probably already tried that...

I like his cold, deathly stare. makes him more evil.

You will see it has had a few tweaks since the last video. But this is the final version. I will not be doing any more work on it.

Looks awesome, although I noticed that you shifted his gaze and now the Emperor looks slightly crosseyed. Or is that just me?

Please stop nit-picking! He just said there would be no more changes to that scene. It looks flipping awesome compared to the DVD release. or are u pushing for a 2012 release?

I don't have anything left from ANH:R so Everything will have to be done from scratch. I'm hoping i can find the original death star mesh animations but i know i deleted all the project files and everything else

I remember cringing about that at the time. Pls don't delete anything else like that - I'd rather send u spare h/ds than see your hard work be deleted.

This is great news. Ady's commitment to this project is incredible.

How much work will be involved. Have you got elements backed up from the original that can be re-used? I think I remember reading that you deleted a load because you needed the space..
All of the elements he would have had would have been at 480, so they'd have to be recreated anyway.

My hope is that the OOT footage is on the Blu in some form so Ady can just pull from there for scenes like the Trooper Roadblock so Ady doesn't have to recreate that whole scene like he did for AOUR.

I don't dabble in video editing but are there things like element tracking / colour levels and settings that can be scaled up or applied to 720P video?

And the audio won't change.

If he's got the new CG elements that can just be re-rendered right?

Adywan said he needs financial support to finish ESB:R. Approximately, how much is needed? Maybe we could all donate a buck or two, make it like a small group donation perhaps and boost the budget a little bit. I've been living with a nude ass for the past couple of months, but I could try to donate at least something.

Yes, I as well am living on the very edge of poverty myself, but I'd like to offer my financial support in my own small way. What about a facebook financial drive of sorts? Anyone think that would help in a noticeable way? I'd be willing to spam all of my fellow, or ex star wars fans with lengthy emails on why this is a good investment, including links to Adywans ANH on youtube to give people an idea of what they'd be spending money on......

Edit: Perhaps Adywan fundraiser screenings in our living rooms......give away DVD copies of the film for anyone who makes a donation to the cause

Great ideas. Is it just $ required, or could peeps donate hardware/ kit? Maybe some peeps might know how to get some stuff cheaper.

I'm still in desperate need of donations to get this thing finished. It's going to cost me even more for materials after Xmas when this bloody government introduce the VAT rise in January. Delivery charges and everything will rise. So if i can the remaining materials before Jan then it would be great.

Hey Ady,

Have you worked out how much you need to get everything?

I find it hard to find the right words to express sympathy without it sounding like a cliche.

From my own experience I would suggest you spend as much time as you can together as it may be time you will never get back. I figure you will do that anyway as you seem like a thoroughly decent bloke.
