I bet on his death; but when can any person predict the death of any human being? And will the need for another 100 million dollars give us the impossible hope of a good-looking OOT? As it had been said 500 million times, the release on the OOT in non-anamorphic is the least expected caveat for our demand for the OOT on DVD, and Lucas only did it to 1)get rid of SE DVD's at the warehouse, and 2)justify the de facto destruction of the OOT by saying there is no demand and that the best we will ever get is letterbox. Lucas has proven to me that a person can genuinely, with enough money, destroy every shred of a groundbreaking and enormously popular film trilogy. It is equivalent to burning every copy of the Godfather that you can afford. So, we might as well go into a life of piracy, become a Lucas propaganda slave, or go into some sort of rehab to wean you of the OOT like they do for drugs. I sincerely hoped that the OOT would be released on DVD, but that hope is essentially dead. Game over. You can forget seeing Han shoot first and Sebastian Shaw on your 50' HDTV.

So adding hayden Christensen as Anakin at the end of ROTJ in 2004 is fixing the SE, the first version of which was reedited four years before he cast Hayden to be Anakin? That shows about as much logic as adding Justin Timberlake to replace Michael Jackson in Thriller; and yet, we still have no clear, logical explanation of why Lucas added Hayden other than this left-handed expanation of "force ghosts" that was never explained in episode III as promised.

As I said time and time again, there will never be a release of the OOT in up-to-date quality, and the release of deleted scences and all that good features will never be released for eons to come. Our only choice is to get used to four bars or suffer with bootlegs. This whole non-anamorphic "curse" has even made me bitter about HD TV's that are becoming commonplace nowadays. Time and time again, it only proves to me that Lucas wants every shred of the OOT destroyed for over 15 years. The 30th anniversary has now become a time of despair and bitterness. The bottom line is SW is dead.

But look, the boxset would have been a MAJOR dissapointment; and the fact that the OT was released tree times in three years, there should be at least some spacing between DVD releases! Sorry folks, but we have no choice but to suffer letterbox versions of the OOT unaltered. Let me ask you this question: do we want the SW boxset because of some hope to get a proper transfer of the OOT, or is this something we really want?
