Is the Hobbit prequel trilogy suffering the same problems as the Star Wars prequel Trilogy?
Time

BTW Is Cameron ever going to make those Avatar sequels? It's been nearly five years since the the movie came out, and that is not a good sign for a possible franchise.

I'm kind of afraid Battle Of Five Armies is going to ruin the whole Jackson LOTR franchise for good:

Fortunately I have never seen the last two Hobbit movies, but I think the main problem is that you can't make three movies out of one book. LOTR at least made sense: it was split into three books in 1954, and thus Jackson made three movies. I guess as long as Jackson doesn't alter the actual Tolkein books, we shouldn't get too mad about his film adaptations.

Peter Jackson really can't hold a candle to George Lucas' incompetence. All Jackson did with making three Hobbit movies is trying to relive his glory days a decade earlier. You could say that George was doing the same thing with the PT, but I wanna say he is worse than Jackson because the LOTR is not being reedited   to fit in with the Hobbit trilogy. Plus, the PT was to George's mind bigger in scale than the OT, and he wasn't directing overlong movies in between sequels.

C'mon, the prequels were just avant-garde toy commercials.

Associating the word "avant-garde" with the prequels is placing them on a pedestal they aren't worthy to rest upon.

Even calling them "toy commercials" is a flattering stretch.

Just because I use the word avant-garde doesn't mean it is automatically good; what it really means is that it is always nonsense. No sane person could understand or even like the PT, with or without the Star Wars name attached. Even george probably can't watch any of the prequels in one sitting.

C'mon, the prequels were just avant-garde toy commercials. They can't be fully understood because they are supposed to an ambiguous counter-narrative to the original trilogy. They are the evil twins of their corresponding installments: TPM with ANH, AOTC with ESB, and ROTS with ROTJ. They were the experimental films George Lucas always wanted to make, and just slapped on the star wars brand on them to cover the costs of CGI.

Star admits to child molestation

Stephen Collins, who played the father and pastor on the family-friendly series, has reportedly been caught on tape admitting he molested three young girls, according to TMZ.

Sick and disturbing if these allegations are true. I'll never be able to look at "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" the same way again.  YUCK!

Too bad it was Illia and not Decker who held the moral code not to take advantage of a sexually immature species.

Yeah, Decker probably touched those kids :(

Does anyone here visit Agonybooth.com? They recently wrote an article debating wether Picard should have died in "The Best Of Both Worlds" two parter. (Spoiler: yes, and it would have made the franchise better)

Side note: I don't think they like any movies or TV shows on that site; and IMO it started going downhill when they started focusing on video series instead of text recaps.
