STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Jor Tallen, the info on SW.com that I was referring to is not EU stuff....it is a deeper picture from Lucas himself of what the Clone Wars were all about, in preparation for the new Clone Wars CGI movie coming out Aug. 15. OK....no more PT stuff for now, although I must admit it will be interesting to see Ady's edits of these in the future. Now back to Quad Core and Empire, this is going to be good....

Great to hear about the equipment, Ady. Hope it's good to you!

I've started watching MagnoliaFan's TPM edit and...I still don't get it. :p Granted, I've only seen the movie all the way through maybe twice, but I've never fully understood what was going on. Something about a Trade Federation and slavery and some moron with long ears? I dunno. I wish they had just started the movie with the Jedi council learning of a child that could participate in pod races and 'maybe he's force sensitive' and all that jazz, and they're just sending Ginn and Kenobi over there to see, and thus would begin some wacky adventures. Bah, what a mess...

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I don't understand any of the political schemes in the PT. The Trade Federation's motivation was never clear to me, the role of Dooku, any of it. I'm not dumb and am very interested in real life politics, but found the PT's political motivations and actions convoluted and vague. What I liked in magnoliafan's edit is that he tied the Federation's motive to slavery, which the movie otherwise dwelt on for no other reason than to make some kind of vague moral point (with terrible dialogue like "I am a person, and my name is Anakin"). Maybe I just didn't care to figure it out. A major problem with the PT is that it lacked coherent motivations and reasons for many developments. Padme and Anakin fell in love because he leered at her and spouted pickup lines like a desperate stalker? Hold on...I'm gonna stop yet another anti-PT rant and go out and try Anakin's method to pick up women. If it works, I will have more constructive advice for when adywan edits the PT.

I know you don't care Jor Tallen, but if you go to StarWars.com, there is all of this new information explaining what Dooku was doing and why, what the Clone Wars were all about, etc., etc. I generally felt a bit confused about all of the politics and reasons for stuff too, but with all of the new Clone Wars stuff at SW.com, they have added all kinds history and info that I never knew, clearing up a lot of the confusion, really cool, you should check it out. Ya....back to Empire.....peace....

"(God, you're really gonna hate me when i get to the PT. I'm going to be ripping those movies to shreds, beyond all recognition. lol)"

So Ady, I really enjoy the PT movies as they are, but this is your chance to show me what I might be missing and how much better they could have been from your point of view. I couldn't hate the brother that brought us the OT Revisited. In fact the OT movies are the ones that I didn't enjoy watching much anymore, until you came along with these great edits. I'll definintely check out your PT edits, and if the movies are way better than they are now, then even better. If not, guess what, I'll still have the originals that are so great to me in their original state. A win-win for me.

.......and yah to Doubleofive.... I guess that I appreciate the guy....(George), that gave us all of these movies, and I believe it is his story. With that being said, I think he and Lucasfilm really jacked up with the OT releases, and I still can't believe with all of their capability to fix and restore these old films that they gave us those crappy dvd sets? So I'm somewhere in between a "Revisionist" and a "Lucas Apologist", one that really likes the PT, "just so you know who you are dealing with"....peace......

GM....your latest emporer/vader scene is great! I still think the interuption really adds a lot. The Emporer theme is a welcome addition as well. I didn't have any audio on Ady's latest mix thing, but that original emporer was a freaky looking fella. Not at all like palps, just some random sith that was hanging around for the weekend or something, while sidious was out of town? I just want to say that like it or not, the story George wrote, is the story. His story is canon, so although so many feel like the way they imagined it is the way the story should have been, you were wrong, deal with it. Peace.....

I hope Adywan is ok, it"s been awhile since that brother has posted. I like to see his response to the twelve pages about a voice, (already said he was using the original Fett voice), and the spotted eagle that was in the background of scene 323 at take 34, that must be changed to non-spotted, because ILM and Lucasfilm are just stupid. Adywan bring some perspective back to this thread, give us a new trailer or something! Peace...

I can't wait to hear what exactly Adywan plans to do with this edit. I feel that his vision for IV was just about perfectly inline with my tastes, although I would have personally included the extended Alderan scene.

I think he is able to bridge the gap fairly well between the keep it the original way, because that is the way it was people, and those of us that don't want to change something just to change it, but are for updating it a bit such as the Ep. IV additions, enable to make it even better than the original. Basicly what Lucas could have done with the official special additions.

Can nobody else admit, yes Empire is a great movie, but some of the effects, scenes, could certainly be freshened up a tad, to bring the movie into the future a little bit? No plot changes, etc, just a refresh/or some might call it a REVISIT?

Adywan, I appreciate that you want to stay close to the original, but don't be afraid to take a few chances with this edit, like you did with IV, because those chances are what makes that movie so amazing and relevant to a whole new generation.

Just my thoughts, and I'm glad it is in your(Adywan's) hands, because some of these suggestions would just ruin the whole reason for an Ep.V REVISITED. They would make it more like Ep.V, the old, old stuff, with color correction.

And unfortunately that would not blow peoples minds and make it a better movie, like IV is now....

Peace....

Ady...great color correction so far. Can anything be done to make that scene a little less cheesy?

When Luke and the guys are winding that dental floss around the legs of the walker, then the floss causes the walker to fall, come on, that is ridiculous, and looks so fake.

Maybe adding more fighters swarming around, more walkers, and more snow would mask how bad the special effects really were in that shot? Just my opinion....Keep up the great work...peace....

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
In reference to the review above.....I think where this movie really shines, is in watching the entire saga. From my experience, after watching Ep.1-3, (love them or hate them), it is hard to accept the original Ep.4, or the SE, as a continuation of the saga. It is just too different than the newer 3, and for me is kind of a let down.

Insert EpIV "Revisited", and all of a sudden you can almost buy that this is a continuation within the same saga. Better picture quality, larger scale Imperial fleet, aliens that aren't plastic muppets, an almost respectable duel between Obi-wan and Vader, laser blasts that actually hit people and look like laser blasts, much better Death Star and ship graphic readouts, light sabers that aren't toothpick thin, and an epic battle at the end that is Star Wars worthy, not to mention explosions that look realistic, and Chewie getting a medal.

Aside from that the original or SE is a great movie on it's own, and will always have that nostalgic childhood memory thing, but for me Revisited has finally bridged the two trilogies together, and truely helped to create a believable saga.

Peace....
