Hi g00b!

I still havenāt watched this, but Iāve been following along, and I wanted to say Iām so impressed with how much ownership youāve taken of this show. Youāve really mastered it!
Thanks Eddie! That means a lot from you!
By the time you watch it, hopefully itāll be great polished experience for you!
I think you had a slight error in your last post. S01E05 should be S01E01.
Thanks for that! Iāve fixed that now š
You really are doing āyeomanās workā on this edit. Your paying attention to minor details, such ad Vaderās voice, really is excellent to see.
Iāve spent a lot of time with the show now! Iām determined to make it the best it can be! š
As an aside, it certainly does look like the Ahsoka show is another Rebels season. This might belong under this category of edit.
Iām am interested in tackling Ahsoka at some stage. I tried to recolor a few aspects (which taught me some new skills!). Iāll likely move onto it after Iām done with Rebels but weāll see hahaha
New Vaderās voice sounds pretty sick, in the likes of the original trilogy, I loved it! Do you plan to do that for the entire project or just this very first episode?
Iām planning on doing this for all episodes š
While editing Episode 1 again, fixing the audio sync and updating subtitles, I decided I wanted to try make James Earl Jones sound a bit younger so Vader sounds closer to his Episode 4 appearance. I played around with some AI but couldnāt get anything better then the original so decided to experiment with pitch shifting to make him sound younger.
Iāve only changed the pitch EVER SO SLIGHTLY but I think he sounds younger. Iād love to get some feedback and opinions on this!
For recolors only:
I think you should include a second or two of fake Kanan approaching from behind without the dialogue and running in front of Ezra. That way, from Ezraās perspective (and first time viewer) it would not be obvious that we are dealing with a force illusion.
Iāll keep playing with it and see what works best.
I donāt mind Kanan starting in front as it is an illusion. Iām also not too worried about it being obviously a force vision as the original material went this route with all the heightened expressions. The purpose of the recolor is to achieve this without the goofiness hahaha.
But on the other hand him coming from behind was clever and gives a good justification for why Ezra is unsure of what heās seeing. If I go down this route, we end up at the 3 section chamber which kinda kills the cavey vibe of the sequence but it does make more sense.
I think your suggestion might be the best fit. Iāll try minimise the length of Kanan coming from behind and remove the dialogue then make up my mind! š
Thanks for the suggestion and input!
Feedback Request:
Iāve spent a lot of time reworking and rethinking the Lothal Temple scenes. Below is the link to the sequence where Ezra encounters Kanan and the Inquisitor.
Iāve recolored the scene to try invoke the Empire Strikes Back Cave sequence. Once lightsabers and fighting are brought in, Iāve used their red and blue colors to introduce some purple as well. I feel like this brings in a more vision/dream like atmosphere to the scene.
Because of the drastic recolor, Iāve also redone the VFX on the lightsabers to bring them back to the Rebels aesthetic as best as I can. Iād love to get feedback!
Changes So Far:
Iāve been putting off watching Rebels for years in the hopes that someone would eventually make something like this - so stoked I found this! Iād love a link please!

Something a bit more short and sweat like this example for episode one seems more fittingā¦
"In a galaxy dominated by a tyranical Empires rule for 14 years, the Galactic Empires relentless expansion continues, subjecting countless systems to their oppressive rule.
On the distant planet of Lothal, young Ezra Bridger, orphaned after his parents were seized by the Empire struggles to survive through theft and scavenging.
As the weight of Imperial control bears down on him, Ezra yearns for liberation."
Thanks for the suggestion! Iāll keep it under consideration when I go back an adjust the audio š
There are synchronization issues in S4E05 Family Reunion as well.
Quite noticeable around the 0:34 mark.
around 200 ms audio delay
Iāve set all episodes for season 1 (1080p V4 - HDR versions) which Iāve seen so far to -150 ms audio delay which shows better results. Like what Iāve seen so far g00b but crawls definitely need tweaking, Iāll also play around with Chat gpt and see what I can come up and let you know.
Thanks for that Darth Muffy! Iāll be fixing the audio as I go through.
Iām currently working on modifying the lothal temple scenes and further work in S01E05. Iāll have some more to share soon! š
Would it be possible to receive a link to the twilight of the apprentice arc? š

As for the second half of the fifth episode (Princess on Lothal), I felt like it cut WAY too much and made things move WAY too fast. IMO Leiaās little introduction aboard the ship (0:46-2:00 of the original episode) was much needed, otherwise we just have a legacy character randomly popping out at the scenery; also, itās important in-universe 'cause it shows the Empire is very tired of Alderaan meddling in their affairs, which makes them going after it on EP IV a little more believable. Also Kanan and Ezra talking to Leia before facing off against the stormtroopers (6:05-6:50 of the original) was also quite important, not only to keep the pace a little slower but to give some more background as to how Alderaan and the Senate can keep supporting anti-Empire stuff. And for last, the cut pep talk between Leia and Ezra (10:54-12:19 of the original) was a pretty sweet moment of character development for both of them, I donāt see why leaving it out.
Honestly my original intention would have been to cut this episode entirely. Thatās probably why the episode moves pretty fast, hahaha. Iāll rewatch the original episode and keep an eye out for what youāve mentioned and may include those scenes back in for V4. Thanks for the feedback Psy! š
Hi G00b,
Based on the episode quality I would have removed it as well. However, itās quite important imo to show some important cameos in this series -especially Leia given her role in the original trilogy- Your whole series gets stronger by adding this kind of episodes as connective tissue. Because of that, keeping all interactions between Leia and the Ghostās crew seems crucial to me.
I agree, as Iām working through that episode I will be trying to restore more of the Leia scenes back into it! š
There are synchronization issues in S4E05 Family Reunion as well.
Quite noticeable around the 0:34 mark.
around 200 ms audio delay
Thanks for letting me know! Iāll make sure thatās fixed in V4 š
For recolors only:
Iād try to generally aim for fewer, longer sentences instead of a of shorter ones.
Iāll keep that in mind for the crawls as Iām putting them together with the AI. The shortest sentence for episode 1 is It is a time of oppression. Which I quite like hahaha.
Not sure how I feel about the capitalization. I know Eddie did that, but only for the first time a new place or major character is introduced.
Honestly, I wasnāt too fond of it either⦠but the original crawls use it so if Iām going for immersion I think itās needed.
I donāt want to copy Eddies formatting⦠so maybe Iāll limit myself to one capitalisation per screen of text limited to important people/faction/location.
For example:

On another note, I love your custom helmet intro.
Thanks! It took a bit of blender work!
Toastb, Iād love to hear what you think about this potential rework of the text in the first episode.
Not sure how the quality of v4 compares to v3, since I have no comparison at hand.
Thatās alright! š
Most of the time the issues are repeated words, at the beginning of sentences/paragraphs, which should be avoided at all cost.
Thatās a lot of what Iām trying to fix in the text for the V4s currently.
I would also completely remove any mentions of what characters are thinking. Intentions are debateable, since it is, as you said, on a smaller scale than clone wars, but thoughts of a character should be omitted.
This is a very good pointā¦
Overall I do like them and I think they are needed for additional information or to explain things that might have been cut, although the writing style does not remind me of Star Wars and immediately brings me out of the immersion.
I agree here. Iād considered cutting them out but realised they could be very helpful. I think youāre correct about the writing style⦠my main focus is to get across the information with the size that my text is⦠hahaha.
Out of interest, I put your first opening into ChatGPT and told it to rephrase it in a style similar to the star wars opening crawls:
The 2nd version reads a lot more āStar Warsā-y. It does embellish quite a lot, is rather long (and should be shortened) but in my mind it sounds more like something the Clone Wars narrator would say.
This is a very interesting point that I hadnāt consideredā¦
I think Iām going to play around with this idea. If it improves the overall immersion and feel of the edit Iām down for it! š
Hello, I am currently beginning to watch Rebels in a bit of a rush because I didnāt watch it and I feel like I should complete it before moving to Ahsoka. The problem is I donāt have enough time to watch all the episodes, so I think this project could be my lifeboat before Ahsoka ends! (Iām scared becasue spoilersā¦).
Can I have a link? Thanks for your work!

Episode 3 of season 1 āOld Mastersā: The audio is not in sync with the video, not sure by how much but it was a few ms behind. Had to correct it manually.
I had some time to check the audio and it seems fine to me. Are there any points in the episode where it stands out? And like I mentioned above, do you know what version and which release? š
Couldnāt agree more Eddie! Iāve loved the whole series so far š
Thanks for the feedback Toastb! I really appreciate you taking the time!
Writing the opening crawls is the element Iāve found the most challenging and every new revision Iāve tended to change or tweak them.
What have you thought about the quality of them in the V4?
Iāve tried to avoid a more grand view of whatās going on. Rebels is a much quieter and smaller scale affair then Clone Wars so Iām not sure that suggestion would suit it. But Iām always open to reworking them š.
When you describe the font, Iām not sure what feedback youāre giving. Were you saying you prefer Eddieās font and setup over mine? (Thatās how Iām reading it but Iām not 100% sure).
Is the audio out of sync for V4? And what are you watching 4K, 1080p recolor or 1080p? š
I do agree about the subtitles and that is something I will address but for now itāll stay as thatās what my AI does. Once the whole edit is subbed Iāll think about fixing it š.
Episode is essential. It sets up the main antagonists of the season.
