Don't think of it as "donate to watch", instead think of it as "donate and watch." All good charities give a little something to their doner; the doner doesn't give to recieve, but the gifts are a way that the beneficiary shows their appreciation.

Agreed. But as far as seeing it as "donate to watch", I have to. I have made a donation, and I was happy to do so. And I did so for the good of the project. But the fact is that there are those that may have given simply to see the clip, which I see as "donate to watch". And in the most basic sense, regardless of motives, it's a giving and receiving transaction with money involved. And the doner is passing copyrighted material (material owned by someone else) in the same tranaction as money. And I think it's a dangerous notion in this copyright & piracy issue climate we live in.

Debate and opinions aside, I would like to hear Adywan's take on this. I think this is a big deal and it should be clearly addressed.

For the record I have made my donation, and I have done so for the benefit of this project. And I am excited to enjoy some of the fruits of that by watching the new clip (which I have not recieved a link to yet).

So in saying that, I'm not speaking about myself, but I have a question.

To be blunt, when will those of us who are not donating get a chance to see the clip? And also, how far do you intend to go with this "donate to watch" sceme?

I don't mean to be rude, I'm just bieng curious.

I will say that I have my own issues with "how far is too far" when dealing with these kinds of projects, my own included. I of course have only good will towards yours.

Any updates Focuspuller?

If anything... How the devil are you?  :-)

I've been better be honest.

As I've said before I'm expecting a new member of the family to arrive in June (if all goes as it should). But things haven't gone as smoothly as they could have. On top of which I may be facing a legal action and financial crunch. And then there is work.

So over the last two months or so I have barely had any time to work on this project. Does that mean I am stopping: not at all. I would love to have an endless amount of time to work on projects like this without a care in the world. But that is not the world I am living in. In short, I have a lot to deal with right now and frankly a number of those things come before this project. I would assume that this is an easy thing to understand.

Cassius76, ImperialFighter, and everyone else that has been here since the beginning, thank you, for your help and support.

As for a few other posts i have just read and private notes. Y'all need to calm down and chill the *BEEP* out!! And I'm going to say this only once, this project WILL be released, and it will be released when it is finished. If after that time you like it, love it, hate it, want to throw food at me, go for it, but not until I am finished.

It's coming, just be patient. No comment on progress doesn't mean no progress.

I hope to have an update soon.

SAVE LANDO!!!!
Time

So basiclly, Ady wants to kill the only black guy in Star Wars? Think of the aplications of that.

In truth, I'm not the world biggest Lando fan. That bieng said, killing him would be just plain silly. Tweaking effects in one thing but I think a line is crossed if he goes down this road. Plus I don't think it's relevent to the story at that point if any of the side charactors die. The fate of everything, story included, falls on Luke. Does Luke die? Does he kill Vader? Does the Emperor Luke? It's all in Lukes hands. If you were doing to kill someone it would have to be in Empire, Jedi is too late in the game. And anyway, I don't think killing Lando is "bittersweet" enough. Lando flies the Falcon out of the burning Death Star, Nuff said.

What are you going to do next, kill Wedge?

Here's something you may want to include in your edit, Ady, especially when Rogue 2 finds Han and Luke:

Hello focuspuller,

This may be a long shot, but in doing research for my site, I stumbled upon the track listing for a very rare BR bootleg called Cliffhanger and Radio Plays, and apparently one of the tracks ("Stalking Pris") just might contain the music cue in its clean entirety for when Deckard walks up the stairs to J.F. Sebastian's apartment.

Just wanted to give you a heads-up, in case you missed it.

Hmm, as a matter of fact, I would be interested in getting this bootleg too...  ;-)

As many have learned the hard way, looking for hope in some "rare, hard to find bootleg" is a lost cause. It's what bootleggers prey on, with discs selling as much as $500 if not more. In terms of content, "Cliffhanger and Radio Plays" falls under that group and contains nothing new. That being being said, there is good news. While I have not added to the list yet, the track that you are referring to will be included in this collection. At this time there are one or two more tracks that will be added that are yet to be listed.

Hey focuspuller,

Just wanted to point out that the version of "Unveiled Twinkling Space" presented on the BR Trilogy is NOT the version heard in the film (due to a 5% pitch difference), so in case you were using that cue for your Complete Collection, I just wanted to let you know that you will have to lower the pitch by 5% (unless you wanted it in PAL quality).

The music will be presented how it is supposed to be heard. NOT (in most cases) how it is heard in the film. That would contradict one of the basic objectives of this project.

I have been getting a lot of requests for putting up samples. Early on in this project I put up samples to give you an idea of the work I was doing. For those that got to download them and enjoy them I'm glad you did. But for those that haven't, something should be understood. It's not a reflection of the final product. The point is not to release one track at a time but everything at once when it is complete. Once that happens you'll be happy you waited. Meanwhile, if I have cause to release a further sample of something I will.

No, it's Taffy's as in the music played in Taffy Lewis' bar. It comes on after Deckard hangs up the phone.

I see which one you're talking about.

Just for the record, there are two source cues used in Taffy Lewis's bar, one has vocals courtesy of Demis Roussos (heard when Deckard first enters the club), and the other does not (heard when Deckard is hung up on the phone).

I rather like the second one, wish we had a complete clean ending for it.

The second one was part of a mp3 file that has been available on occasion called Blade Runner Suite - Outtakes. It is 30 minutes of source material including the track in question, which is elsewhere called Salome's Dance, at 1:39. In the movie this track starts when the announcer introduces Salome (aka Zhora) and continues through until Zhora's dressing room (after Deckard goes backstage it is easy to miss among the other sounds). It probably is just looped to fit that length. The format of the track makes it easy to loop it endlessly.

No it's not a loop. In the film, the background beat continues, but if you listen carefully you can hear the "instruments" change slightly until the track ends with an applause. This is happening while Deckard is in Zhora's room.

It should also be pointed out that the "horn" like sound comes from the same sample library used in the track "Taffy's".

Really? I failed to notice any similarities. The track you call "Taffy's" is the source cue with Demis Roussos's vocals, right?
