Info: ¤ RETURN OF THE JEDI ¤ Score Restoration - another OPTIMUM SET ?...
Time

Go for it ABC. RotJ's score has been overshadowed by the other two scores and it's nice to see it get some love.

Think about restoring the Reactor Core track from the rejected version on the cd's, to the proper movie version. For some reason this track is always wrong. Just an idea anyway... I'll be happy with any effort made.

Off the subject: To EyeShotFirst,

I really like your gif on bad color grading. Do you have any information on how these scenes were fixed. The new transfer of the Matrix is beyond green.

ABC, would you like to take a crack at Return of the Jedi's score?

First, thanks for the post ;)

To "take a crack"? What does it mean (sorry my English is limited)?

... If it means you want to see me restore Return Of The Jedi score you're not very curious ! Just click on my signature, check post1, grab the whole thing and please shout in the topic what you've heard ! Lol !

I'm amazed such a work still gets ignored when it's under the nose of every body who just keep on dreaming about it... With me keeping on bumping the topic from time to time to keep you aware that it's here! That's why I'm a little pissed off about the (no) feedbacks matter and more widely the share matter. Most people who find it don't let you know, they just keep it for themselves.

Don't know if I guess right your question though but it gives me the occasion to rant once more about it. :) ... To notice that when the current project will be finished, it may be forgotten as well, after it survived for a while because of the topic title perhaps, and mostly thanks to feedbacks.

Sorry about my use of slang, but I see you understand. And Don't worry, your english appears to be quite excelent too me.

Thank you for the reminder about the Jedi score. I had forgoten who did that one, but it's very nice.

Now I just need to convert this music to a more portable format so that I don't have to sit at my computer to listen to it.

Got the 1st half and love what your doing ABC. I always get excited everytime one of these restoration projects is under taken, so keep on going.

ABC, would you like to take a crack at Return of the Jedi's score? This one seems to get ignored mostly, which is a shame as it's the culmination of the whole thing. Though I do still love Empire's score the best.

My final wish would be for John Williams to do a rerecording of the entire trilogy score using modern technology. But then again all the tiny diferences in orchestration would probably bug me.

THE OT SOUNDTRACKS SALVAGE - SWESBROTJ -"remastered"(so far)+ LP's (Released)
Time

Greetings ABC,

I never thanked you for the music you gave to me previously and I'm doing so now. Thank you so much!

It's surprising how good these old records can sound when such love and dedication is applied in re-mastering them. I thought they would be full of crackles and pops just like they sounded back on the old turntable day's, but boy, was I wrong. For instance the clarity of the bells coming through at the very start of the main theme almost make it seem like a different piece of music now.

And double thanks for the new downloads of the ROTJ score. Can't wait to listen to them.

I had always considered Jedi's score to be inferior to the other films scores, but in recent years I have listened to it separate from the film and have begun to appreciate it so much more. I now consider Jedi's score to be the equal to the others and think that it is vastly under rated. Listening to the score separately has actually deepened my appreciation for the movie it's self. Flat acting or bad Ewok costumes magically transform into their true intent and emotion when you 'really' hear the music behind them. John Williams truly seems to understand the deeper, interconnected themes that run throughout the trilogy, even possibly better than George Lucas himself.

One little question? Why do the tracks get chopped up into so many separate parts in these re-masterings? Don't get me wrong. I love the work you've done. It's just that the flow in some of the music is broken and would be better served if joined together. I guess it's just the way the original tracks were recorded during the scoring sessions.

Anyway, great stuff.
