EDIT: I wouldn’t look too hard into the disclaimer. From what I heard it’s because it was aired on Disney XD, which has a younger target audience than most channels.

What are you talking about?

oojason was talking about the first TV Spot having a disclaimer about the film not being suitable for minors, whereas I heard (rumours, mind you) That it’s because of the channel it was aired on, not an indication of the film itself.

What was your signature pic before photobucket turned to the dark side and started blocking 3rd party image sharing mate?

(Or is that pic your chosen sig?)

It was a reenactment of the “I am your father” scene done by emoticons. I’ve been thinking for some time I need a replacement, but never got around to it.

Makes sense. Not everyone is an Anakin Skywalker (Oh, is that my severed-but-otherwise-undamaged-and-perfectly-reattachable hand lying on the ground? Forget it. Just forget it. I’ve got a Terminator 2 fetish, anyway.).

But how could they make it Rhyme without giving a bullshit excuse as to why Anakin is like Luke and has a robot hand too?

So, in that last scene, Kylo Ren’s scar is practically healed. It is the only shot with him looking like that. I am assuming that this shot comes from the end of the movie, but i guess there could be a lot of other explanations.

Well, in the other shots with him, we see a band-aid of some kind over the scar. Maybe it’s a fast heal synthskin thingy?

The Soap Opera effect Strikes Back!

I had noticed they had frame interpolation months before, but I don’t want to say that was it, as it seemed like the SSD (for example) actually felt like I was looking at a model, and I don’t know if interpolation alone can do that.

EDIT: Though that source does make me curious as to if TVs also have methods of reducing Judder without reducing the motion blur, as the motion blur is I think what really made it stand out in my head.

EDIT 2: Though what I may be calling blurring may not be what TV hardware calls blurring.

TNT has been running the OT and PT all week long. Late at night too. Are they burning them off before they lose the broadcast rights or something?

I don’t know. I just know I watched Empire while my family visited some friends of ours. I’m not sure if it was their TV or the Broadcast, but they somehow made it look like a Soap Opera, and the Star Destroyers and Yoda seemed a little too blatantly like props, rather than people and ships.

I’ll admit, coming from Canada, it’s hard for me to appreciate some of the minutiae of American gun culture. Part of it is from living in rural communities, but there’s not even the same feeling of being threatened that I hear Americans have, regardless of where they live. Hell, my family rarely locks the doors. While we have a rifle, we’d probably miss it more for the sentimental value my dad carries with it than because of feeling threatened. My dad prefers hunting via falconry nowadays.

Oh yeah, I was reading up on the Specs of Snoke’s personal ship. I began to question why it needed to be so large (aside from the fact that the First Order’s MO being “Empire but bigger!”) And I started to wonder. What if the Order’s not actually in control of any real planets after SKB was destroyed, and this ship is effectively what they’re using instead of a homeworld?

Yeah, this protest has done nothing. It hasn’t gotten anyone talking about police brutality at all.

That’s completely false.

Not any more than they were before. I’m a firm believer in protesting out in the streets. Picket a police station or something along with taking a knee at the game. Doing just the latter and nothing else is bland and uninteresting in my book.

Except the former was already done, and it got told that the protesters were too disruptive and needed to stop.

Lock him up?

Also, it might just be where I’m from, but I don’t really see why the anthem is placed on such a high pedestal in the USA. In Canada, while I don’t know of protests during the anthem, there is discourse and criticism of the anthem itself, specifically the line “Our home and Native Land.” Our flag was also redrawn entirely to appease French protesters (though it didn’t really work).
