Other than the bad direction and acting, which I agree, there really are no contradictions.

Yoda trained Obi-Wan in the use of the force first and Qui-Gon trained him in the field afterwards. TPM hints that Yoda had taught Obi-Wan at the very beginning of the film and AOTC shows that Yoda trains Jedi Padawans when they're young. Why is that hard to figure out?

The dark side isn't stronger, because if it was, Anakin would have defeated Obi-Wan, too. Plus, the Prequels never said that it was anyway, so I don't know how you came up with that.

Leia remembers her mother because she, being born after Luke, somehow had some mental connection with her mother while she was dying, hence the images and feelings that she retained in later years. The Force is strong with Anakin's children, right? It isn't real anyway, so why let it bother you.

Besides some of the bad acting and poor direction, there is still a lot of good things in the Prequels. A good edit could salvage these films. But if you're going to butcher the films to make it completely different and hopefully better, then you're looking at the impossible. So why bother? You're better off just cutting out what isn't needed and adjusting around scenes to make it more watchable and entertaining like what some fan editors have managed to do.

I'm just wondering what's the point of Adywan doing Episodes I-III, when the acting in those movies are flat out terrible, and the way those movies are written seem like fan-films/fan-fiction. There's nothing Adywan can do to fix the bad acting, so why even bother?

I disagree. I think Adywan can do this. If you remove the most juvenilistic scenes, change or eliminate bad dialogue and alter the Gungans' and Neimoidian's voices so they sound alien instead, it's possible he can make the Prequels into something more interesting.

There was a video that showed Jar Jar with a New Jersey accent, and believe it or not, he sounded very cool.

I know this is a monumental task, but I think when Adywan gets around to doing them, he will be at this point more proficient in his editing skills to make a difference.

I haven't seen too many Menace edits, but I figure I can bring up this idea, anyway.

Before the actual film's release, I watched the Siskel and Ebert review and one of the things he mentioned about the movie is the reintroduction of the lightsaber, which after seeing the movie I came to agree. I never liked how, in a state of panic, the Jedi jumped up from the table and ignited their lightsabers. It seemed so unlike a Jedi to be scared like that, and it also made the lightsabers first appearance in the Prequels less dramatic as it was in the OT.

Here's what I would do, if I had the skill and wit, that is.

After the Neimoidians contact Sidious about what to do, I would place the protocol droid serving drinks scene at this point, and while the Jedi are just sitting there with their drinks, I would then place the dioxus gas coming through the vent scene, so we know how the Trade Federation plan to kill them. The next time we should see Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, is when the battle droids open the door to the gas filled reception room. This should be, in my opinion, the first time we get to see their ancient weapons come to life in the Prequels. I feel it would be a lot better than what Lucas decided on.

Well, good luck with your edit.

Great! I'm going to try it. Actually I initially tried to keep the scene but rotoscoping out the lightsabers and only show them with the hilts but it didn't work. Anyway, thank you for suggestions.

Dude, keep trying with that "just the hilts" idea. If you can get it to work, it'd be perfect.

GOT A SCREENCAP? NOT AWARE OF THIS ONE.

*hmm. Maybe they already addressed this. It was a scene that was either before or after Han was impersonating as an Imperial. Can't remember, really.*

Screencap?

Is this it? Is the all changed angle or is my idea?

Nah, that wasn't what I was referring to. Were those images created offline? If so, how the hell did you post them here?

I just want this thing to be released, couldn't care less how long it takes..

Most anticipated film in a long time for me.

Yeah, me too. I can't wait.

I wish he started with the Prequels first, though. Can't wait to see what he has planned for them.

I originally posted this on another board, but I'm hoping Adywan considers this himself.

Couldn't disagree more. Thank god he did the OT first. Those are the only ones I really care about.

Plus, adywan will need all the skills he's learning working on OT:Revisited if he has any hope of transforming the prequels into good films.

That's true. He's going to need all the experience he can get. I'm just curious to see how he's going to handle the Prequels, and hope he doesn't lose interest by the time he finishes the OT.

I'm not sure what he plans to edit out, but he did say he will fix many of the things that don't work in the films - one being the Neimoidians' and Gungans' voices. I can't wait to see what he does with the rest. I just hope it doesn't take a long time, but I guess beggars can't be choosey. Lol.

Was going to mention that....along with the fact that in the OT the loss of a lightsaber is usually accompanied by some big plot point......thus necessitating a change in a character's arc AND the building of a new lightsaber.........in the PT they just lose them every 5 mins and it means nothing.

I'm sure he would have just easily used the Force to float it back to him. It's not like he couldn't, or wouldn't do that, especially in the situation he was in.

4. Luke's lightsaber is nowhere to be found on his belt while he's carrying Vader to a shuttle. Again, cgi quick fix.

AGAIN, NO IDEA OF ADY'S SPECIFIC PLAN HERE....BUT LUKE THROWS IT AWAY TO MAKE A POINT TO THE EMPEROR. IT SEEMS LOGICAL TO ME THAT HE WOULDN'T HAVE RETRIEVED IT IN THE HURRY TO GET HIS FATHER AND HIMSELF OFF THE DSII.

*he has it on him during Ewok celebration, which implies he did.*

Potentially it could be removed from that shot (not saying it WILL be, just saying Ady could go either way on this)

It would make sense that he did retrieve it since he might have to fight his way out of the Death Star.

Hi, guys. New member.

I love what Ady did with Star Wars, and I hope the same care to staying true with the original story is first on his list when he finishes the other OT movies. That being said, ROTJ needs more fixes than the previous films, but nothing more than minor tweaks here and there, mind you.

*RESPONSES IN CAPS*

1. Jabba slapping Threepio just looks too slow. A slight fast forward should fix that.

PERSONALLY ITS NEVER BOTHERED ME...HE HAS BULK BEHIND HIS SWING SO ITS BELIEVEABLE THAT IT WOULD KNOCK 3P0 DOWN...BUT I HAVE NO CLUE IF ADY HAS PLANS HERE...

*It just looked phony to me, that's all.*

2. Tortured droid's feet in one scene don't touch the hot brands. This should have been fixed in the Special Edition with a little cgi.

MY GUESS IS ADY WILL FIX THIS

*hope to god he does*

3. Lando's cross belt is flipped from scene to scene while he talks to Han about loaning the Falcon for the Death Star attack. Maybe the scenes can be flipped back into proper sequence.

ADY HAS A HISTORY OF CORRECTING FLIPPED SHOTS.

*the guy's a pro*

5. Scene where storm troopers are attacked from behind by ewoks should be sped up slightly to make it seem like the little buggers are actually hurting them.

THAT WHOLE BATTLE IS BEING ADDRESSED TO MAKE THE EWOKS MORE BELIEVABLE AS A FIGHTING FORCE.

*that's good.*

6. Imperial scout on speeder bike looks stopped before exploding from Chewie's laser blast. Minor tweak should make the speeder bike look like it wasn't stopped.

AGAIN, ODDS ARE THIS WILL BE ADDRESSED.

*again, good.*

7. Human henchman in Jabba's palace keeps steering up into camera during Rancor scene. Maybe cgi, again, could alter his eyes so he looks like he's staring downward.

NEVER NOTICED THIS. DON'T KNOW IF ITS SOMETHING THATS EVER BOTHERED ADY.

*really? It's during Luke's battle with the Rancor and not Oola's, mind you.*

8. Boba Fett's rockets look a little crooked when he ignites them on the sail barge. Should be fixed so it doesn't look odd.

IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY ADY AGREES THAT MANY OF THE FETT FLYING EFFECTS WERE DONE RATHER DODGILY AND HE PLANS TO ADDRESS THAT.

*good*

9. Make it seem that Jabba is really being choked hard by the chains.

NEVER HAD A PROBLEM BELIEVING THIS MYSELF.

*not sure if this can be fixed, but maybe chain can look more like it's cutting into flesh.*

10. fix the imperial bunker's missing locked door while Han impersonates as an imperial officer to get them to open it.

GOT A SCREENCAP? NOT AWARE OF THIS ONE.

*hmm. Maybe they already addressed this. It was a scene that was either before or after Han was impersonating as an Imperial. Can't remember, really.*

Im sure there's more, but these have always bothered me since I was a kid.
