Global Warming
Time
Earth has been heating up and cooling down for billions of years now. We may help whichever cycle is occurring along, but there is no way we could ever manipulate it in order to heat up or cool down at our will.

Billions of years have passed before we were finally able to began recording the weather daily and keeping it where we could access and utilize that information.

We are in a WARMING TREAND and we will probably be ride on sleighs in a few years when that COOLING TREAD kicks in.

why does vader say obi wan has trained u well ?
Time
It's pretty obvious to Darth Vader that Luke as been taught by Obi-Wan in the arts of the force and lightsaber dueling. If you'll remember that from Vader's point of view (either pre PT or post PT) Obi had Luke and was training him. Vader was impressed that Obi-Wan could teach Luke all those great Jedi moves, arts, Jedi logic, and Jedi theology. Now it is times for Vader to make a move on Luke.

So when Vader says"Obi-wan has trained you well..." you'd better prepare for "...but I can teach you what he cannot the greatest power known to man lies on the path to dark side. Join me, my son, and together we can rule galaxy as father and son."

It's a sales pitch from Vader.

So when you take your car to a dealership

Salesman: "Toyota has made you a well built car......., but I can sell you a 2007 Chevrolet pickup which will of the ameneties for 75 cents to the dollar. Buy this car and together you will climb a mountain or pull a stump."

best I could do.

Hey, I'm cool with a bad attitude, I've found that a bad attitude is a sign of a realist and cynic, usually those kind of people don't become victims and I like that. Anyways, I was impressed by the trailer and I will give it a chance before I call it out as crap. I was a child in the 80's and had the toys, watched the cartoons, and everything so I do have high expectations. I also went over to the Transformers Movie website where there are some interviews of the writers, it seems they are really wanting to preserve the Transformers "idea" so to speak. So far, I know that they changed "Bumblebee" from a VW bug to a Camaro, but we all know they did not because Chevy paid a hefty sum to have it done. I would link their interviews here, but the whole site is flash based and hard to link. So, I recommend ya'll go check it out, I liked what they had to say. The interviews are under the "Videos" section on the website.

This smells awfully bad like an Obi Jeewhyen thread........?!?!?!?!?

If you will take the few steps to research the history of our world, then you will find that the earth cools down and heats up constantly and has for several million years. It is natural and the "Global Warming issue" is a stupid liberal conspiracy to once again blame Republicans for Mother Earth's actions.

I agree with my quite intelligent peers, Darth Evil and WESHALLPRESERVE, it is B.S.!!!!!

Plus, post in the proper forum, in accordance with the forum rules.

George Lucas gonna go bankrupt?
Time
Well, I think Lucas is currently working on several things. According to IMDB.....

1. "Untitled Star Wars TV Series" (2007) TV Series (in production) (executive producer)
2. Red Tails (2008) (announced) (executive producer) (producer)
3. Indiana Jones 4 (2008) (pre-production) (executive producer)
4. "Untitled Clone Wars TV Series" (2007) TV Series (executive producer)
5. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) (executive producer)
6. "Star Wars: Clone Wars" (2003) TV Series (executive producer) (unknown episodes)
7. Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) (executive producer)

and Yes, I know that IMDB is no trustworthy source, but it seems to be fairly accurate. Even if this stuff is not occuring, Lucas will be making millions a year off of merchandise alone forever. Plus, I'm sure that Star Wars and Indiana Jones are not his only investments, I'm positive he has a slew of stockbrokers investing millions here and there for him. He'll never be bankrupt as far as I can see.

Empire Strikes Back sets are terrible.
Time
As for the "Padawan" thing, almost all of us here only want our Original Trilogy released in it's original, but restored, form. That does not mean that we are going to completely deny that the PT ever existed. Altough most of us really wished they would have done a different job on them, I think a majority of us like a few things in them.

As for the sets, I never really felt like any of the sets were cheap or out of place until this thread, I'll look next time I watch it, but I don't know if I ever paid it that much attention.

OOT has 1 day left

Agreed, we'll probably see them in the discount bin at Wal-Mart. I just don't see any business recalling milions of dollars of their product and then trashing them, I think they'd rather just sell it at a discounted price and be done with it.

Will you buy the OOT again ?

I don't think anybody here exactly wants Lucas dead, I think what is implied is that it seems Lucas will have to pass away before we, the fans, get what we want because he stonewalling the whole issue. It is a natural part of life to die.

So long as Lucas isn't taken out by some crazy Star Wars geek with a sniper rifle, I consider it no big deal. If Lucas passes away in his million dollar mansion, on his thousand dollar bed, with a personal doctor seeing to him, and it's simply old age at 93 years, then why should I feel bad if I only want to be able to watch the OOT in HD completely restored a couple years later.

Darth, every console in history has had problems of some sort. Some were minor, some were major, most of them the owners never know about, but they were all worked out within a few months. 360 had the overheating issue. Wii had the strap issue. When I say "kinks" I am refering to the backwards compatability, the firmware updates, the lack of consoles to meet demand, very few game selections. Although I love my 360, I am not absolutely stuck on it to the point that I think no other console can beat. All I am saying is that IMO I think it is too early to get a PS3 for me. Here's some of the things I have read.

PS3 Has Issues

PS3 programming problems a sure early roadblock

In Brief: PS3 Scaling Problems on Old HDTVs

PS2, PS1 480i games hampered by crazy jaggies on the PS3

PS3 to get upscaled DVDs, 1080p/24

Nixon said "Pardon me" to which Ford replied "OK" and thus, Nixon never had to stand trial.

Hey, I'm not knocking the thing hardware wise, I agree with Chaltab that the thing does not have but one interesting game right now. I CAN afford it and if it seemed like I would use it, I would buy it right now, but I just don't have any need right now. Just remember that there are a ton of people out there who just cannot sling down $700+ for a game system. Will I eventually buy one? I'm pretty sure I will. I think the market for PS3 will be much better in a year or so whenever there are more games for it and they have all of the kinks worked out, hardware and software wise. I didn't even buy my 360 until March of 06. As far as HDMI, that would be nice to have on the 360 since I am running it on a 60 inch HDTV, but it's not a deal breaker. I love my 360 online play, I REALLY love the way the controls feel in my hand, I LOVE the rumble of my controls, and I like the assortment of games available for it right now. Plus, it works real nicely with my desktop on the network.

As far as the Wii, the Wiimote seems kind of neat, but other than that it just is not appealing to me.

Yeah, it is to me also, but I am no big fan of the "Infinities" series of books, although I am open to an alternate timeline, I just did not like where they took the story at all, way less enjoyable. The thing in my mind about Vader was that if he was redeemed and turned back into Anakin, I think he would have opted for a totally different look, different mask and all, one less threatening looking and which did not remind everyone he met that he was Darth Vader. Plus I think he would have went back to his Jedi Robe and all. That's just me thinkin' though.

Well, I don't have exact numbers, but I'm running my basis that the PS3 is bombing on these headlines....

Scalpers returning PS3s to stores

Wii slaughters PS3 in holiday sales

PS3 owners try to upgrade to a Wii

PS3 No More A Hot Commodity

I don't think the PS3 will "bomb" exactly, but for some reason people just ain't running to get them anymore. Even my brother had one that he just could not sell, even at the price he paid, $700. So he carried it back to Gamestop. I think the price is it's main problem. I will admit that it is a reasonable price if you ONLY use the Blu-ray player function on it since Blu-ray players are still $1000 and up.

Which might bring some aprehension to mr. Jimmy Carter, being 82 years old, odds are he'll live 10 more years tops (unless he breaks the record himself).

Lovely. Ten more years of that man spewing his hatred for America? Maybe he and Ford could trade places.

I feel the same way, stupid Carter!

R.I.P. President Ford. He seemed pretty good to me, I read his wiki page since I had no idea how his Presidency went (I was also born in 1979) seems like he did a great job.
