Star Trek movie
Time
Hmm, I don't know, I have to admit I am also a Star Trek fan (yes, I love Star Wars AND Star Trek, I am an enigma) I am knid of scared what may happen to the franchise with this thing. However, if it gets the blessing of Shatner, Nimoy, and Majel Barrett-Roddenberry (Gene's wife and a big player in the series, she ISTHE voice of the computer and Counselor Troi's mother), then maybe I'll bite.

Do you believe in aliens?
Time
I guess the argument has already been called out, but I also believe in Aliens primarily because I think it is highly conceited to think we are all that live in breath in this universe. I look at the stars at night (there's even millions we can't see with the naked eye BTW) and I think that each one could contain a lifeform on it doing the same thing I am.

Or they could be plotting our worldly destruction in order to construct a hyperspace route.

One thing PC Users Can Do But Mac Users Can't
Time
I don't understand why so many poeple take such trivial things and get so attached to it. Who cares if the Mac guy thinks he has less problems, or the Ford guy can outrun a Chevy guy, or that Pepsi is the greatest thing since ever. Fact is, I like windows (oh my God I said that!!!), I like Chevy's, and I think Pepsi sucks. But I will never see myself getting into any kind of heated argument or getting all pissed off over it. Who cares, what works for me, just works for me, and that is all I care about.

One of the few things I am picky about is my gun. I prefer my Heckler & Koch USP Compact .40 as opposed to the stinking S&W 1911 knock-off I HAVE to carry.

If you do happen to have a 62-foot HDTV, then I apologize, dark_jedi. And even if you don't, don't take this message the wrong way. I'm not trying to call you out or anything. I just had to say something after having seen this several times on these boards by various members over the past few days.

dark_jedi that was pretty damn funny, I had to hold my side cause I was hurting form laughing so hard.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed?

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

The Star Wars saga continues this November in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a videogame developed by LucasArts, which casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

As its name implies, The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force by taking full advantage of newly developed technologies that will be seen and experienced for the first time: Digital Molecular Matter (DMM), by Pixelux Entertainment, and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. Paired with the powerful Havok Physics™ system, these new technologies create gameplay only possible on the new generation of consoles. DMM incorporates the physical properties of anything in the environment so that everything reacts exactly like it should - wood breaks like wood, glass shatters like glass, plants on the planet Felucia bend like plants on the planet Felucia would, and more. Meanwhile, as a revolutionary behavioral-simulation engine, euphoria enables interactive characters to move, act and even think like actual human beings, adapting their behavior on the fly and resulting in a different payoff every single time.
Features

* During the period between Episodes III and IV, players hunt Jedi in the role of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice.
* Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos.
* Examples of unleashing the Force in ways never thought possible:
o The Secret Apprentice won't just Force push enemies into walls - he'll Force push enemies through walls.
o The Secret Apprentice won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb.
* In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players will also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader.

Sounds an awfully lot like there will be some more re-writing of the entire Star Wars universe to me. Anytime one paragraph has the phrases "completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force", "created under direction from George Lucas", and "to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy" it just cannot be good for us diehard OT folks here.

We should start bitching about the companies that don't provide anything so awesome, like Bugle Boy or Applebees.

Rob is absolutely correct to me. Irregardless of how they did it, MS is now the worlds leading company and Bill Gates the richest man. They did good for themselves.

Celebrity's fucking deserve this they do stupid things and then get people to feel sorry for them when the paparazzi bug the hell of them.

Everyone deserves a modicum of privacy. Just because people like you put them on a pedestal doesn't give you a right to try and knock them down. Have a fucking heart.

I was mostly joking but. I do believe the paparazzi are villainized way too much. So have a fucking sense of humor cassidy.

The biggest problem I have with these type of stars is that they complain that the media follows them everywhere, but #1, all these same movie stars ALWAYS hang out on the main strip in Hollywood and #2, they always give the media a show. So if they really want their privacy don't be a spectacle and go somewhere else other than where the paparazzi are.

That's quite enough for now

Goodbye Ric, although I don't understand why you desire to proclaim it as a permanent disassociation from the OT.com and even if the great posters are no longer posting, I'm sorry that I never knew them, but who is to say that we will never once again achieve that status. Although, I understand what you are doing, I still think it is pessimistic to give up totally on the forum just because you feel that there has been no good posters. One thing I have learned in life is that everything is like a pendulum, everything goes back and forth to one extreme or the other and hardly stays in the middle. Right now this forum may not be that great whereas it once was, I think it will come back around to your standards. All I urge is that you don't give up and just give it a few months and check back. That is all I'm sayin'.

Oops, I didn't even think about that. For those who don't know, I am a police officer here in Texas, in fact, I work only about 30 miles from Murphy, Texas. I think that one of the pervs they caught in this last airing was from my city.
Reiterating, I'd love to be in on one of these investigations, I'd have a lot of fun and at the end of the day, I defininately have that "I just really did something to help society" feeling I used to get when I first started.

Getting too old for this sort of thing?
Time
27 here, My mom has told me that she took me to the ESB screening when it first came out, but I was just about to be one years old. I distinctly remember my brother and I playing with our Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker action figures when I was about 3 or 4. He also had an x-wing that he played with all the time. We used to go over to a freinds house to even be able to touch an AT-AT walker. My actual first memories of the real movies was in about '84-'85 when my Dad got a hold of it somehow, I think it was on laserdisc, and we viewed the entire OOT as a family over the course of a week. Then in 1997, we did that again when he bought the 1997 SE.
