I’m guessing that Solo died because Harrison Ford had grown to hate the role and wanted him to die. I didn’t get the impression that Carrie wanted the same… rather, it seemed like she was happy to be reprising her character.

Ford wanted Solo dead for a long time, the freezing of Han in carbonite back in ESB was a middle ground that they came to in order to keep the option open to bring Solo back, which they did. Ford wanted Solo dead by the end of ESB.

Again, an offscreen death is probably the best way to address the issue. The best onscreen solution I could imagine would be a memorial ceremony, but nothing more.

I really do hope they don’t try to resurrect her with CGI and perhaps allow her an off screen death in the next installment. Maybe natural causes being unable to live without Han or the thought of her son killing Han literally destroyed her.

I just wouldn’t understand delaying the news, even for a holiday. Nonetheless, it seems to be that she is now in stable condition so all of this discussion is moot.

I really wish people would quit bitching about other people. All this “he’s a troll” & “they’re trolls” crap is getting out of hand. The politics thread was once a pretty fun place, in spite of the fact it would sink into name calling and bitch fests from time to time, it always came back. But these days it’s just bashing and bashing of each other with no real substance to any of it. If it isn’t another (of the thousands) of links posted bitching about Trump then it’s another post of one member accusing another member of trolling or simple name calling. Nobody respects each others opinions at all, which is sad. I may disagree with you, but I respect your opinion. I vehemently disagree with Frink on several issues, but I respect his stances. I just wished he wouldn’t wish that I were raped because I disagree with him. I hate it’s locked, but I don’t disagree with it. As a matter of fact, I’d say that it ought to stay locked for a month or so just to really allow things to settle down and then see if people can act like adults. A 24-48 hour respite has proven to only fix things for a couple or so days until everyone gets at each others throats again.
