The next time I have a hellish time in an airport I shall have to be careful what I say (especially on Twitter) :

While it's not a good idea to shout "fire" in a public place the guy was clearly joking and venting his anger, to his friends on a public interweb forum.

I wonder what would happen if a comedian on a satirical television or radio show said the exact same words?

"Chamber’s Twitter post was removed, and his laptop, home computer and cell phone were taken away. He was also banned from Robin Hood Airport for life and suspended from his job indefinitely."

Damn, I wonder why they haven't castrated him also, sheesh! Poor guy.

Team Conan or Team Jay?

Conan's humor is a lot more on the silly side, and I understand that that isn't always for everyone.

Yeah, perhaps that is the biggest issue at play here. I think that NBC acted prematurely in rushing Conan to The Tonight Show. I think maybe a few more years would have brought down his "energy" so to speak and allowed him to appeal better to the older demographic that does watch The Tonight Show. As far as Leno, funny or not, he was a ratings powerhouse before the move from TTS, which leads me to an old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Not to say that Leno isn't to blame I reckon, but I think the biggest villain in the whole ordeal is Zucker and the rest of the NBC brainiacs who thought this was a good idea. In the end, I do believe Conan will come out the winner, Leno will have to fight this negative image he's unduly been saddled with (IMHO), and gap tooth over on CBS will keep smiling at his female interns.

I seriously think too many people are demonizing Leno when it's NBC's fault. It was their big idea to do it all and they even forced Leno out. It all backfires on them and they want their ratings powerhouse back (Leno) and Conan plays the whole "poor pitiful me" routine. I know I'm in the minority here, but I cannot stand Conan and I'll be glad to see Leno back, I myself think he is pretty funny. Conan just annoys the hell out of me.

Pat Robertson does it again
Time

I agree with Darth Chaltab, I don't mind slamming him when necessary to prove that not all Christians are that way, but to assume he wouldn't be taken in Rapture is not our place. We truely don't know God's intent or desires. Perhaps Robertson wouldn't be taken, but would we? What do we each deserve? Who's to decide? Only one can.

Well, despite his ridiculous statements, I think some people tend to overlook the good that he actually does.

Operation Blessing

Again, I ain't defending him at all, but to condemn him only for his stupid remarks and assault him with hateful remarks, all while overlooking his positives, is being just as blind and discriminatory as he is.

That said, I could find nothing good about Westboro Baptist Church. Those guys are genuine kooks. I've dealt with them a couple times on Soldiers Funerals and can't stand them at all.

This goofball thinks that because nothing was done at the farce Copenhagen summit, that the mystical global warming gods destroyed Haiti.

“When we see what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens, you know what I’m sayin’?”- Danny Glover

Ferris, you don't by any chance, agree Robertson do you?

Not at all, but his goofiness tends to make many Christian haters come out of the woodwork and start holding him up as some sort of epitomy of a Christian when he is very far from that.

The problem is, the majority of Christians give Christians a bad name. Televangelists make the faith look insane.

80's network shows like this were right in my wheelhouse.  So how is it that I've never seen a full episode?

Man, I dunno, this show was a staple in my house back in the 80's. My brother and I even had A-Team dolls, he had Murdoch and I had Mr.T!!! Yeah!! I had the A-Team van and my brother had the chopper. Groovy.

I'm also not sure how then can find someone to replace Mr. T as BA, and I'm concerned as well about Howling Mad Murdock.   I would think it would be very difficult to fill Dwight Schultz's shoes.

Agree. I always felt that Jim Carrey would be a great Murdoch if he'd relax on the shtick a little. Say a "Jim Carrey Light".

Whoa, whoa, that guy is African American?!?! Then how is he President!?!?!

To be serious, I truly hate that title. It is not correct and misleading. I prefer Black American, if anything other than simply an American.

A few years old but interesting anyway:

I don't discount history at all. History is a favorite subject of mine. Like I said, I don't doubt that a true Conservative could win someday, just not as soon as 2012 and certainly not Palin(too many people have her pegged as a dope and a quitter). In any case, we'll just have to wait and see what happens then .
I'm no Palin defender, but can we really definitely say who couldn't be elected in a few years? Did anyone in 2006 think an African American could be elected in 2008?

To be serious, I truly hate that title. It is not correct and misleading. I prefer Black American, if anything other than simply an American. I work with an African American who is absolutely white!! His daddy grew up in Africa, he was born there and was brought here soon after he was born. He told me that he's often perplexed as to whether he should check the "African-American" box on forms. I mean, let's be real, the last of my people to live in Mexico was 245 years ago, but you don't see me calling myself a "Mexican-American". You're either one or the other, a Mexican, an African, or an American. And yes, I have several black friends who totally agree with me and usually shout when they are called "African-American".

you're not saying there's something wrong with candidate having a College Education are you.  Imo,  there would be something wrong with a candidate not having a college education.

I've done a little work on te sentence to hopefully help you along with that one.

I've seen that word/phrase thrown around a lot, and I have to ask, what on earth does that even mean? What's the difference between a regular college education and an ELITE!!!!11!1!1one!!1! college education? Is that a separate box you have to check on your application?

Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Princeton, and Yale.

It's not that I necessarily have anything against those who go to those schools, but they seem to have an issue with the likes of me. They seem to think that someone who attended a community college is inferior or under their level. Most everyone in Washington graduated from one of the above Colleges. Those folks are also referred to as "Ivy League".

I disagree, I think the Republican Party has rejected its Conservative foundation. The Republicans tried to run a "liberal light" candidate last election and it failed.

if they run what you believe to be a true Conservative, Obama would have won in even more of a landslide.

I disagree, if the past tells us anything, the people of the United States elect true conservatives by landslides.

I don't necessarily dislike Avatar just because of the politics, but they do help me to hate it. I do not like that they portray the "villainous" army to be "Marines" who happen to dress, look, and act like our U.S. Marine Corp. Put on top of it that it is pretty much "Dances in Wolves in Space".

they were supposed to be military force how would how have them look?

also the way you put quotes around the word villainous,  do you mean imply that they weren't the villain?

I did that as to draw attention that they are portrayed as villans. Besides, I'm not the only one who got idea. The Marines seem to feel the same.

Despite the fact that conservatives are the clear majority in the United States

we had the discussion in "another realm" disagreed with this then, and I disagree with it now.   Back then the statistics you quoted said the Conservatives were not in the majority.  They showed there were more non-conservatives than conservatives.

Whatever, but to me when 40% of the United States identify themselves as Conservative and just 36% call themselves Moderate and a scant 21% are liberal, then Conservatives are the plurality. I am using majority loosely since they do outnumber the Moderates alone and Liberals alone. All a decent Conservative would have to do is siphon 11% of the Moderate vote in the next election and Obama will hopefully be sent packing. However, by that time, even a half assed Conservative should get 65% of the vote when the people see what a disaster Obama has been.

I don't have anything against Macs except their outrageous pricing. You can get the equivalent of a Mac Pro for $1200 in a PC while Apple want $3200 for it. That's the only thing I really have against Apple, but I do love their stuff.

I see this argument a lot and have to assume it comes from not actually knowing what hardware is in a Mac Pro and how much it would cost to configure a PC that is truly identical part-for-part. The dual Nehalem quad core processors in the Mac Pro cost at least $800 by themselves. I'm not sure where you get your parts, but if you can build the equivalent of a current Mac Pro for $1200, you're one hell of a bargain hunter.

Okay, perhaps I mean a computer that can run just as well.
