3D STAR WARS for the masses...has ARRIVED!

First up, George is writing and producing “Red Tails,” about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squadron during World War II.

Hmm, I wonder if ol' George realized that the Tuskegee Airmen story has already been told in film, and pretty well I must add with Laurence Fishburne. i just hope he doesn't pollute that great story with his idiotic ideas.

The most telling thing to me when watching the review is when, after seeing a bunch of TPM footage, OT scenes are interspersed in...the difference is jarring and it really makes TPM look vapid and generic.

Can't wait for the ATOC review!

Agreed, his humor aside, this guy is an absolute genius and has an ability to take what I want to say and vocalizes it in a way that is totally great that I just can't. I applaud him and hope that he makes this his primary job in life. I can see him becoming a favorite of mine for years to come in his reviews.

I disagree with the idea that romantic attachment is dangerous, even though my luck with women has been the platonic ideal of horrible.

I'll say this, my spouse of 9 years as been a blessing for me. She actually contributed a lot to settling me down from my wild ways. Bringing our baby girl into this world pretty much sealed the deal on making me wiser and act in a more mature fashion with regards to daily life. I live less recklessly, seek out battles less often, and only challenge authority when absolutely necessary. I find that I think diplomatically more and of using force a lot less. I would imagine that in real life, having love would be a benefit to a Jedi. It would serve to make him wiser quicker, I think. Although I understand the dangers this could cause, I think the rewards would be far greater.

Were Conan's rating really bad enough that NBC would have gotten rid of him by now if it weren't for what happened with Leno's show at 10?

I don't think his numbers were that bad, I think they would have stayed with him longer and given him the necessary time to build an audience. However, the big wrench in the whole deal was Leno's prime time slot, his numbers were far below what the affiliates needed to lead in their newscasts. The affiliates started shouting at NBC Corporate and they had to listen. The only fix they could muster was trying to put things back the way they were.

You finished ME and your son had to buy his own copy???  He's 9, right?

yes he did,he did NOT want to use my copy,he wants his OWN hard copy of the games he likes,I think he also gets that from me,I will NOT borrow anything from any friend or family,I want my own copy no matter how much or rare it is.

so we have 2 versions of Dragon Age Origins also,1 Collector's Edition and 1 Standard Edition, along with Wolverine and a couple others.

and now I am on the hunt for another copy of Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion GOTY for him, this I will buy for him since he is taking such a HUGE liking to RPG's,plus he wants to start saving for Dragon Age Awakenings,Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, and of course Mass Effect 2.

He spends his allowance money which he gets from me and he really has no chores to do anyways so I am really buying them anyway LOL.

I'll tell you, pawn shops are a great source for that stuff, especially is the games are slightly older like ME. Most will hold stuff for you if you find what you want. Just tell them to hold it for you so your son can buy it himself. I know you'll save some money and make him happy at the same time.

I don't understand some people's problems with his reviews. I personally thought he was hilarious, and all of his points are right on the money. He's adopted this style of reviewing for a while now, and whilst it's clearly not to everyone's tastes, you can't deny he makes plenty of valid points. He's clearly gained quite a following already before he even tackled Star Wars, but suddenly, just because it's Star Wars, people object to the style as if Phantom Menace is deserving of a more serious approach.

It's not.

I find it funny that people are considering redubbing the review to remove the humour. I know this is a Fan Edit community but come on! Editing a comedy review of a film posted on youtube? :p

No need to be so serious, guys :)

I'd never heard of his reviews until the Star Wars one and I loved it myself. I had to watch all of his other reviews as well and enjoyed them just as much. I can't wait for the next installment.

But, yeah, if you don't like the humor, change the channel.

I have to say, I'm getting a little worn out on Conan's grandstanding & complaining. It's back to my earlier statement & long-time feeling that Conan is just too narcissistic.

I might be a little more sympathetic to his childish complaining were he just a victim of NBC's poor planning, but he doesn't have the ratings to back all of this up. He had his own devoted fans for 16 years (or were they?), but they didn't follow him to 11:30 - blame them, not Leno. Leno's show did poorly in prime time, but it was the only real gamble.

Conan, on the other hand, stepped into a 56-year-old proven time slot - on a 56-year-old late night dynasty - THE standard for all who followed & copied. A show that until the day he took over was #1 in the ratings. When he took over, the ratings sunk to the lowest in the show's history.

Conan - shut it.

What I don't get is that everyone is pretending that Conan was the victim when, in fact, it was all his scheme! He was the one that demanded TTS in 2009 with his 2004 contract. He, along with the all too willing folks at NBC, pushed out Leno. Now he and his fans are making out like Leno is the bad guy, and the worst part is that people are buying into it!

If Conan had truly in respectful, he would have waited until Jay was ready to retire and them graciously took the helm, not force him out.

I do, reference one of my previous posts. In reply to your post, I stated:

Yeah, I feel sorry for them too.

I am sincere in that. I don't lack empathy, I was just explaining that they had to be fully aware they were taking a risk that eventually didn't pay out.

yeah,  but do you really think they sat around and asked "what if Jay doesn't make it at 10 and NBC wants to give him the Tonight Show back?" ?    It was a risk, but do could you expect them to think that they'd only the several months they got?

Perhaps not, but even still, that is a gamble they must make when they work for network television.

The people I feel sorry for are those that work with Conan behind the scenes.  Some of these aren't  people who are making millions of $$,   They relocated across the country from coast to coast.  Some probably sold their houses on the east coast and bought news ones on the  West coast.   Some of them probably had to take their kids out of school.  There lives were uprooted and and for what?  Just to be fired several months later.  That just doesn't seem right.

Yeah, I feel sorry for them too. However, they had to be aware of the risks involved. Surely, someone sat around and said, "What if Conan doesn't make it?" I have to think that perhaps it is a risk they all considered and made on their own free will. It was a gamble that didn't pay off.

I work with a 24 year-old who is firmly in the Conan camp. Says it's one of his favorite shows - he makes a point of watching online segments every few days. Says also sometimes watches an entire show if he remembers to record it. He also watches Conan less now that he's on just after the news. He's not often settled in for the night that early.

Why are these 20-somethings so upset? Seems to me that they'd be happy for Conan if he will be cashing a $40 million dollar check AND most likely getting a show directly opposite from Leno on Fox. That way we'd have three to choose from Leno, Letterman, and Conan.

Also Conan really does not wear his Politics on his sleeve the way Leno does, i hate that and i am not even a republican conservative.

I never even saw either of them "wearing their politics on their sleeves". I can't really pin down Leno at all, I think he is one of the smart ones and portrays a neutral stance.

I watched this last night.  It was interesting to hear Leno explain it all.

http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/01/18/leno-deconstructs-his-own-predicament/?hp

It also makes it clear, again, that Conan's jabs at Leno - "you can do anything in America, as long as Jay doesn't want to do it also" - really appear self-serving, as well as incorrect. Jay didn't want any of this - he didn't want to be forced off the Tonight Show, didn't really want a prime time gig, and he's not telling NBC to move Conan out of the 11:30 slot. Conan has been less than truthful and unnecessarily snarky through all of this.

I'm not sure whether to believe Leno or not.   He may just be  saying all this to make himself not look like the bad guy.   I find it difficult to believe that Conan went to NBC and said "either give me the Tonight Show or I'll leave" and the NBC chose him over Leno, six years ago.   Doesn't make much sense.  Then again, not much the network has been doing recently does make sense.

I find it very believable. Besides this article from 2004 supports Leno's story.
