I pretended to dislike it at first, and I don't even think you acknowledged it...which is probably the ultimate ignore.

ferris, it just sounds to me like you need to watch it again.  You said it was confusing and illogical, but it's actually very well constructed logically.

My wife said that to, I watched it again. Hated it more the second time. It just tried too hard on every aspect to me, and I really hate dubious endings.

I miss John Wayne.

Random Thoughts
Time

Although I am quite obviously a country music and bluegrass fanatic, there was a brief period in the 80's, while still in the throws of my youth, that I come to very much enjoy Run D.M.C. and Sir Mix-A-Lot. I still enjoy listening to their old jams to this day, but that is about the extent of my rap exposure.

Songs That Tell a Story

Shadows Where the Magic Was

by: James Hand

I drove to the town and I found the street

and the block where we once lived.

I had to make my misery complete

and see if I could take what life couldn't give.

I walked to the gate now rusted and old

and just about to fall,

The wind grew still and my blood ran cold

and the hair on my neck began to crawl.

Chorus:

There's shadows where the magic was

and there's darkness all around.

Now who can tell what the Devil does

when he walks on haunted ground.

Around the old place where my children had played

there were factories, stores, and schools.

There were shopping malls, but behind these walls

were the memories of this fool.

I recalled every lie you told me when

you said "I'm forever true"

I heard my name whispered on the wind

and my heart just broke in two.

Chorus:

There's shadows where the magic was

and there's darkness all around.

Now who can tell what the Devil does

when he walks on haunted ground.

I walked up to the door like a million times before

and I knew then I should leave.

For it seemed to me I heard a demon roar

and something started to tug at my sleeve.

When I saw someone staring at me,

but I could not see a face,

I knew then what it had to be,

I could never leave this place.

Chorus:

There's shadows where the magic was

and there's darkness all around.

Now who can tell what the Devil does

when he walks on haunted ground.

I went on through that door and right across the kitchen floor

where I knew I would find a drink.

I'd hidden it there twenty long years before

right up under the old kitchen sink.

When I found that bottle I gave the cap a toss

and as I drank all that hot whiskey down;

I knew right then I would sure pay the cost,

I would burn this damn place down.

Lord, there's shadows where the magic was

as the flames reach out for me,

I don't give a damn what the Devil does

'cause at last now I am free.

BEAUTIFUL WOMEN NEW RULES IN FIRST POST (NSFW) UPDATED RULES

Truthfully,  being able to see a woman's skin texture, coloring, blemishes, unevenness, her realness - there aren't words for how that moves me.  *swoon*

So very agreed.

That is one reason why the vast majority of women posted in this thread really don't do anything for me. Smooth textureless skin seems to be a big appeal to people. It feels so unauthentic and plastic.

Me three, and I especially agree with CP3S in that most the women in this thread don't move me much either.

I also do not like those boney women, I like just a little plumpness in my women. Not too fat though, just about a size 10-12 is perfect in my eyes.

R.I.P. Peter Falk (September 16, 1927 – June 23, 2011)
Time

I really, really hated to hear this news. It was expected, but still devastating.

I am probably the biggest Peter Falk fan on these boards.

I LOVE Columbo, so much so that he was my avatar before the Lego me. I have every season available on DVD of Columbo. I even have a 12" pose-able figure of him I made with the help of a sculpture from Mexico.

Here it is!

Lego'd OTers
Time

Just so you guys know, I do actually own a rhinestone suit with colored music notes all over it I had made back in '03 my Manuel of Nashville. That guitar is actually a 1979 Yamaha FG-350W I bought from a pawnshop that a good friend of mine owned (who was killed last year in a robbery), I bought that in 1996. I had that black pick-guard put across the top and my name emblazoned on it. Not like one of my Martin's, but it is a damn good guitar, with lots of sentimental value.

I know, I love it! I've had beards in the past, but I always end up shaving them after a few months. Somehow they've always seemed to escape photographic evidence though (hence why there are no pictures of me with them on my facebook).

Beard makes my Lego guy look older than everyone elses too.

Yeah, I went to your FB and found nada, [sarcasm] becuase you're normally the very best at updating your FB profile [/sarcasm]. ;)

You might know which picture Ripplin is using to Legotize me, you remember the picture of me I used FOREVER on my profile, the one with the bluebonnets. Yeah, that's the one. I made sure Ripplin scrubbed my name from the obvious parts. Maybe you can be my backup when he presents the Lego me and everyone doesn't believe it. I am a unique person, yes, I am.
