STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I too agree that different pronunciation of names in the films are OK, due to different tonal emotion. I would not change them.

IMHO I always thought that Tarkin (despicably) pronounced Leia's name "Leeah" due to his "imperial accent", thinking he said it correctly and assuming Leia didn't even know how to pronounce her own 'rebel' name :P

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

I've been watching and rewatching the BR trailer at starwars.com and Yoda is still blueish, Palpatine still has eye slugs, Vader's saber is still bloody pink...

Please tell me that they didn't have enough time to assemble a little trailer with scenes from the BR discs or I'll start thinking those scenes in the trailer ARE indeed the NEW footage in the discs!!! Noooooooooooooooooooo!!

I don't know you, but I always thought that manouvering a ship that huge out of an asteroid field took some time... time enough for Vader to reach his chamber, make his preparations, until communications gave green to talk to the Emperor, then descended from his chamber and kneeled on the holo-pad.

Now, on with the hologram room.

Firs thing I've checked is that the two main shots of that room (Vader kneeling before Palpatine, and the Emperor facing front) show the same portion of the set, "wisely" done to make us think the hologram room is another different room next to the meditation room. But in fact we are only seeing half of the set.

About the "meditation and hologram room" controversy:

First of all, we have to know that "both" rooms were the same studio 5 set at Elstree. It's not hard to realise that half of the room was the meditation chamber and the other half the hologram room, because in both scenes we only see half of the set each time (meditation room has the screen and the door, and hologram room has the pylons and the tubes; of course, they moved in and out Vader's chamber as required).

Another thing is where the officers stand (which is not at 6 from the screen, but about 5) and where they were really shot for close-ups. Below you can see how Veers' close-up shot is in fact taken between the tubes on the right of the screen and the left-hand side door pylon (I'll come to this in my next post).

NOTE: green and red mark coincident areas

RadiOn: precisely, Vader's voice is superbly dubbed in Spanish by a deep-voiced Spanish actor called Constantino Romero (who also regularly dubs Schwarzenneger).

I'm working on an example to let you see how they used the same set to make two rooms (meditation and hologram)... stay tuned! ;)

EDIT: I found a custom diorama here that may help...

What I'm quite sure of is about how they used this set (because the two rooms is only one set).

Imagine that the BTS photo is correct for the hologram room: we have the tubes in the walls, the pylons, the black circle on the floor, the kneeling pad...

OK, now to convert it in the meditation room: move the meditation chamber in the center of the room, cover pairs of pylons with a false wall (only letting the tubes to be visible), add a false off-line screen and voilà! There's your meditation room ready to be shot (for the other shots of the meditation room in which the officers come and go they used a different set).

So, using the same circular room twice for two different contiguous "rooms" that would make an 8-shaped room in "real life", wouldn't it? :)

If you look closely in the 5th photo of ImpFighter's sequence, you'll see the kneeling pad is INSIDE the verge of the black circle which has the med-chamber is in its middle.

So the BTS photo is not correct, as you can see in the hologram room still that the walls are reflecting on a "clear" floor (no trace of a dark circle).

Let's see if you understand my diagram: maybe (just maybe), meditation room and hologram room is not one big round room but a 8-shaped room instead (see top view). Being the meditation room in a lower position (see side vie) and the kneeling pad inside this raised hologram room, the final step of the med-chamber is hiding behind of one of the pillars sorrounding the big hologram room.

Sorry for the lousy sketch! ;)

Yes, RadiOn: even if the chamber was in a ramp, in the shot of the hologram room you would see the end step of the med-chamber... unless it is not a circular room, but an 8-shaped room and that step is hiding behind a pillar...

Give me a couple of minutes to draw a sketch :)

Ghostbusters said:

I never liked Han's "I know" line after Leia says "I love you" either. I think George Lucas was right having Han say "I love you too." "I know" is too cheesy. I heard the line was filmed, do you have access to that line Adywan? Perhaps you could replace it with that?

By the way, if you believed what I just said, you just got punk'd.

"I know" is cheesy and "I love you too" is not???? Coming from a smuggler????

Boy, I recommend you an urgent exorcism... GL, I command you to abandon this guy's body!!!! ;-P
