Well, we never had commercials like this back in my day!

I love the way the blades pulsate. I hope that’s true for the film as well.

I’m not ashamed to say I got a bit emotional watching that. It reminds me so much of what it was like as a young kid to be Star Wars fan and put your wild imagination into action.
And I noticed to blade pulsating too, I absolutely geeked at how it looks so much more like the OT blades. I really like the look of Kylo Ren’s shuttle too, seeing it in live action form. Also, hilarious how this one commercial had better VFX than the PT, though I guess it has been 10 years since ROTS. Guess ILM is in on the marketing as well.

Hmm, I didn't think about that before. That could be a possibility.

I'm sorry again for delays in clips and preview images, I always seem to get busier with real life the more I want to work on this project. I truly never intended for it to take this long.

In reference to making the CG look like stop-motion, I've considered that as well but I don't see at as a priority. But, I could check to see how it would look with Dex tonight, and post results soon enough.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I know I had mentioned a while back on this thread, and I have since gotten it to work with another non-SW film, you can use a somewhat complicated multistep phase cancellation with two mixes that are absolutely identical except for the language of the dialogue. It has minimal distortions to the process, but you have to have the sync and volumes match perfect in addition to the mix being essentially the same. It works better on a 5.1 mix since you can separate elements of reverb and such as well, but usually working with just the center channel of the mix or two stereo mixes will work fine.

But, if I remember correctly, there weren't any identical different language mixes for the SW movies, though I could be wrong about that.

Not putting pressure or anything but... this will get done until TFA?

I am getting this done at the most efficient pace I can. When I first started this project ages ago, I had did not have much video work outside of hobbying. Now, that's not the case anymore so my schedule can be a bit more busy. I'm trying my best to get the project done pre-TFA, and if not by the theatrical release, at least by the DVD/Bluray release in time for marathon viewing with appropriate fan-edits.

Just a question, would people be open to reviewing workprints of the grades whenever that come to be? They'd probably be 9gb 1080p mkv formats, to save online storage space (and quicker uploads/downloads) since they'd not be final. I really want to make sure any discomforts with certain color aspects are resolved to make sure the final version is truly the final version.

I'm going to release the AOTC diner scene soon, once I can figure out some more tweaks. It's probably one of the worst looking scenes in the PT, so I want to ensure people don't still have complaints about the look of it. It's honestly been a pain working on that one, especially since the Blu-ray tint made it even more annoying.

Do we know when they'll start filming Episode VIII? If they haven't started already?

Well, they're filming Rogue One as of right now. I'm guessing they wouldn't start principal shooting till the beggining of 2016. But they concieveably shoot some second unit starting late fall.

I'm just not sure whether they'd want to start principal filming before TFA's release, given just one little overhead set photo could spell possible spoilers if they aren't careful enough.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**
Time

Honestly, I've had my head full in on rumors/leaks, but I think after watching the next trailer, I'm gonna just check out and wait till the sale starts for reserved seats for a 7:00pm premiere showing. I can't go any later, cause I'll want to make sure I don't run into anything huge.

Hope this thread becomes a bit more active within two to three months from now.

Interesting if you rearrange these shots in order:

Probably Finn in the transport on the way down to Jakku. This one specifically lines up with one rumored shot list posted on MSW back in March.

Something Rey related probably since the shot list above lists the two Rey shots from the first teaser as scenes 33.1 and 35 putting this in between; and also remember that scene 35's shot was reversed in the first teaser, hence the fake continuity error.

Something on the Star Destroyer involving Finn's escape or Captain Phasma?

Rey and Finn are on the Falcon probably with Han and Chewie by this point, maybe on the freighter that involves the pirate fight, which also seems to be possible involving the corridor shot here.

This shot really feels JJ Trek like, with the camera quickly moving down from the ceiling.

In Maz's Castle most likely.

Could be R2 at the Resistance Base on the icy planet.

Other observances:

Note how BB-8 is being puppeteered.

Also, HOLY KALAMARI is Admiral Ackbar's head detailed. It's disturbing how real it looks to me.
