They are old masters but miles better than the blurays and are the theatrical cuts

"They" are referred to HDTV or laserdisc versions?

It would be cool (to me, at least) to do a restoration project of EP1-8 with PAL laserdiscs as source (and EP9 from NTSC LD as no PAL LD was available) - EP1,2,7,8 have italian soundtrack, too...

By the way, EP6 on the PAL UK laserdisc boxset is the extended version, and include a prologue by Leonard Nimoy... IIRC the latter was not available on BD, right?

HDTV, I thought 6 was only the extended version worldwide on LD

I can tell you the NTSC LD that I have of ST: TUC is not extended.

Every version on LDDB is the 113 min version

From Wiki

he Undiscovered Country was released on VHS and in widescreen and pan and scan formats on Laserdisc in June 1992;[116] the release added a few minutes of new footage to the film.[117] Because of a trend in supermarket video sales and rentals, Paramount offered rebates for the home video release of The Undiscovered Country through boxes of Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats.[118] The Laserdisc version of the film was the tenth highest-selling video during 1992.[119] The home video cut was later released for the film's 1999 DVD debut.[117]

Be interesting seeing a preservation of Muse LDs. Anyone on the forum have a player? The Jurassic Park one would probably look like this except with a higher level of detail. It be interesting seeing HD transfers circa the late 90s, with substantially different color timing and contrast sensibilities. Terminator 2, Back to the Future, etc.

I have the Pioneer HLD-X9 and Panasonic LX-HD20 MUSE laserdisc players... If only someone would borrow me a MUSE decoder along with some MUSE discs, I would invest some money for a HD capture card!

Until today Jurassic Park [ruLes] - BD was snatched ten times... please seed it as long as you can, and don't forget to post your feedbacks here!

Oh dear god yes! then we can do Terminator, Dracula and BTTF also!

A professional 1080p scan of Star Wars would only cost $550 (well, if the place I'm talking about would scan copyrighted movies - they did a trailer for me). Much less than the cost of the HLD-X0.

4K would be a lot more: $5000 at the place I just looked at.

SO if we all chip in $5? I would go to $15, we need that guy on here asap

Which Reservoir Dogs BD has the best AV quality? The US release has MPEG-2 encoding unfortunately. I know the French has AVC, the German has VC-1, and the Japanese has AVC. Now, I can't get the JPN, but between the French and the German, which is superior? The French is rumored to have some DNR.

They are absolutely the same frames - they even have the same specks of dirt.

The frames has been replaced. On the original two frames, there were the Doc with the remote control and Marty with the camera (Twin Pine mall scene). Those frames were not exactly the same.

Oh that, I uploaded them by mistake, as your quote included my edit I thought you were talking about the new ones

The WOWOW is indeed less compressed, being the bigger file it should be,

But this results in little difference in most shots

It seems so, they're not the same frames though.

They are on my PC, look at the white dot that is there for only one frame.

Plus the WOWOW is not OAR
