I kind of just hope they bought ANOVOS costumes, making the ones purchased already 100% screen accurate to the movie, but in reverse.
I hate that they simply use the nostalgic factor instead of doing something new. Hey look - the Death Star. AGAIN. Oh look - Star destroyers. I remember those from my childhood. Oh look - the boring woman from Episode 6 - I sort of remember her. I remember all those things, so I guess I have a reason to go see the movie it and buy some toys, sorry, I meant “action figures”, right?

I wonder if the rumors about them filming with the Ultra Panavision lenses were true. This teaser is in 2.39:1, not the 2.76:1 Hateful Eight was. Will there be two different theatrical releases, one wide, one super-wide?

Anchorhead is what we call a super-purist (no one has ever called him that before). He is a fan of the film “Star Wars” that was released in 1977 and the Radio Drama from 1981. He’s heard they made sequels and even PREquels (whatever those are), but he doesn’t care to watch them. I think we got him into a couple books at one point.

I get it: the network is sending out a 16:9 image, even to standard def TV’s, so when a show is actually 4:3 and would be pillarboxed, you get it really small with black bars all the way around (windowboxed?)

Anyone else like how in the latest Axanar motion that they walk back their grand descriptions of their projects to “short mockumentary” and “potential fan film”? I mean, I was excited for the project, but I feel like their making Paramount/CBS narrow down their copyright is only going to hurt the whole fan film concept. And I don’t think they’re going to convince a judge that the Klingon language is an “idea” and can’t be copyrighted and that they can use these minor Star Trek characters because they’re not famous enough to automatically have copyright (even though if a writer in the new official series wanted to use an older character they would have to pay the creator of that character, IIRC).

It’s very disappointing that Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood have left “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”, as their characters were the main reason I enjoyed the show.
But they’re getting their own show, which is even better?

My, and I think Frink’s, point is that this entire thread is predicated on the fact that a pirated copy of the movie MAY or MAY NOT have one less beep than the theatrical version. This entire thread is premature.
I can’t hear any beep noises from BB-8 in the scene you describe mate - on the cam version or the bluray (31m, 48s). That’s not to say they are not there - but just I can’t hear any…

As the resident “Changes” guy, even I have to say that this may be a bit much.
Are we 1000000% sure that he gave a “bleep bloop” in every version of the 2D, 3D, 3D IMAX, 15/70 IMAX out there? That doesn’t even count the different sound mixes. Or that perhaps the promo copy doesn’t have the ATMOS sound folded down correctly? Or if it’s just the person’s sound system on which it was viewed?

oh yes…zion has a plug for rifftrax in the presentation. I myself buy certain shows from them…even bought the rifftrax for STHS when they originally released it…I just HAD to (I’m a big MST3k/Rifftrax fan)

Netflix has had the HD stream for a while, this seems to just be a matter of burning the discs!
Meanwhile, I’m hearing that CBS All Access only has the SD versions of TOS & TNG, which is hilarious to me.
As for discs, nothing beats the DVD bonus disc for Star Trek VI having the Enterprise-B from the following movie but upside down.
Prequels, Jedi, and ARSE are going to be switched between.
