I’m just looking forward to doubleofive’s commentary.

This is hilarious.
I popped in my legit retail BD of Lethal Weapon to see if it had the same problem and it wasn’t as bad but then I also photoshopped Mel Gibson’s eyes so they were looking in different directions and I could start to tell it had the same problem too.
Just a quick heads up, don’t know if this can be taken care of in 3.0 or not.
New Avatar Found.

I remember… I remember so much.
Ooh I like that idea, should be easy to pull off with SE footage and using subs.
And thanks for the twitter mention!
I almost hashtagged you or just referenced a non-existant @tvsfrink account, but I decided against it.
“If Lucas really wanted Greedo to shoot first he should have had him pull the trigger and realise the safety was on”
Wow, am I ever glad I got out of the house this afternoon! 😉
A double dip with new extras timed to the next film in 2017 seems likely. Has JJ done many commentary tracks? (I only have Trek '09 besides TFA.) I would be more interested in a cast commentary at this point though.
Into Darkness’ track was a digital exclusive, so is 10 Cloverfield Lane (which he only produced), but Super 8 has one on disc. It may be just a timing thing.
TFA has two huge ones that cannot be fixed unless you edit the film.
I must be extremely stupid, what huge plot holes are there in TFA that are inconsolable?
So, the Falcon leaves Jakku… How does Han happen to be right there? Where is the First Order. They were in orbit of Jakku and not having patrols out to detect an escaping ship is incredibly stupid, especially when Kylo Ren is so keen to capture them. The leaked spoilers said they jumped to hyperspace and then Han found them. As it sits it is a huge hole. Then there is Starkiller Base firing on the Republic. Nothing about it is explained in the movie. We know there is a Republic, but how big is it? They have a fleet, so was the entire fleet in one place? They destroyed a system and just how did the people on Takodana see it? Is Takodana is the same star system? How is the republic destroyed by destroying one star system? The Old Republic spanned thousands of system so is this a little upstart or will the Republic regroup? How is the fleet destroyed? Any government dealing with an adversary will have multiple fleets. Was a special event going on that brought all the ships of the fleet together? That entire sequence made no sense. It required me googling info on what they had intended (some of the missing deleted scenes) to even get an idea of what had been intended. As it is now, it just doesn’t work. It leaves more questions than it answers. Lucas managed to not have any such glaring absence of data. He always managed to keep the audience informed about what was going on. This just feels like sloppy writing combined with sloppy last minute edits and the result is a section of the movie that really ruins it for me.
Oh, plot holes on the level of “How does Luke just fly away from Hoth during a blockade?” and politics stuff that most people don’t care to follow anyway. There’s a Resistance because the Republic refused to have a fleet. The little fleet they did have exploded when the senate blew up. These aren’t plot holes, these are inconveniences for people who don’t want to like a movie.
So it’s NOT a cheap cliffhanger like others claim. It’s an actual end to the plot of that movie. GOOD. Now the next movie doesn’t have to begin with the exact same crawl as TFA.

I think when a new user comes in and asks about a side project of a fan edit that became “official”, that person has some idea he’s going to present to the fan editor. Therefore, it should probably be discussed at large to make sure it hasn’t been suggested before or isn’t already in the works.
JEDIT: He answers! No harm done then. Still odd he wanted to know the timeframe of the officiality of a fan edit.
That’s an order a user named Cap suggested years ago here. At least I think that’s who first suggested it.
Yeah, and I wrote about it two years before Machete Order was proposed.
I’m not bitter that the Cap/005 Order never took off. Nope. Not at all.
I would create a flattened version of a crawl, load up the right font, then type over the crawl, messing with spacing in whatever program until you match. I’ll see if Adywan has any insight.
I love how the more open movie productions become, the less people understand about how movie production actually works.
My projectionist friend says that Drafthouse insists it’s a DCP, which means it’s still more than likely the 2004 SE and they just aren’t aware there’s a difference.
Unless someone has the digital files used in theaters, we can’t really preserve it, but I can’t imagine that someone hasn’t tried to recreate it. Perhaps someone else will know more.
Personally, I think I’ll stick with the MKV and mount the DVD ISO for the special features. Having broke the external Blu-ray burner I bought for ESBR before burning anything has limited my disc options. I’ll probably buy a replacement before too long. Discs allow for easier sharing with less-technologically-capable friends.
Last I heard:
There will be several official versions released:
Blu-Ray 720p BD-25
DL DVD PAL
DL DVD NTSC
720p mkv
Special features DVD-5 (only needed for mkv & DVD version as all these will feature on the Blu-Ray)
I’m not worried about Cap. I know the writers swear he’s not a clone or Skrull or something, but they’ll find a way out of it before Civil War 2 this summer.
original
special editionSo which one is it then
The Original Special Edition. They’re being accurate.
TV’S FRINK NO YOU MAKE PEOPLE HATE YOU YOUR A BULLY END OF STORY.
I’m sorry, what?
On second thought, please don’t answer that.
Digging the retro TMP style poster. The new trailer has me more optimistic now. And do my eyes deceive me, or was that an NX class starship making an appearance?
Your eyes kind of deceive you? It’s a ship whose design leaked earlier, kind of mid-point between NX (which is seen as a model in Robocop’s office) and JJprise.
AT DISNEYLAND RIGHT NOW

That sounds like an incredible experience, Mr. Frink Computer. I’m sure they’re having the time of their lives.
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) - 10/10
What else would I give it?
HOW ABOUT 7 OUT OF 10
I stand with Frink Computer on many issues. This is one of them.
