HOW is that possible?
HOW is that possible?
My friends saw Top Gun at a theater yesterday, all I could think about was if I was there I’d be laughing at the high fives.
Does anyone know if the new TOS boxset coming out includes the original effects versions?
I imagine it’ll be the same series discs as before, so yeah.
Did the blu-ray actually try to fix the colors from 2004? Besides the minor lightsaber fixes, did they try to make Hoth less blue or colors not quite as oversaturated?
Yes. Only the Hoth blue, though.
I wasn’t aware that they’d changed that between 04 and 11. But yeah, the films in general have the exact same color timing as in 2004.
I haven’t actually bothered to check, this is just what I’ve heard.
They didn’t change any colors in Hoth.
I have mine in a box far from my regular movies. It’s not hard. And hyperbole isn’t going to get around the rules about owning the media people are making fan edits/restorations with.
I don’t have the other restorations. I have the GOUT. I saw Harmy’s demo reel/mini documentary on youtube.
As long as you’re satisfied then.
Right at 5:00, I don’t understand what Vader is supposed to be saying “Good. I am…”
“GOOD. I am ready to jam.”
I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask but why was there all this talk of Lowry restoring the films in 2004? It’s like people forgot there was a restoration done in 1997, why did the films need to be restored again 7 years later?
It may have been that 2004 was a digitization/restoration project more than a flat restoration project.
It’s Edgar Winters’ Frankenstein then (which makes way more sense)! They have insanely similar riffs.
I would have went with “Cheap Sunglasses” too. That’s terrifyingly close. An alternate joke could be Alice Cooper’s “Feed My Frankenstein”, which would also make it a Wayne’s World reference. shrug
I think the editing is fantastic. Love the “Angel” bits.
None of the guys look anything like I pictured.
I’m not sure what you imagined from their self-descriptions. 😉 (Clockwise from the left: Chris, Eric, Steve, Andrew)
Anyway, it’s a “lightly informed” We Love Movies treatment of an episode each of TOS & TNG. It’s amazing.
One of the Patreon perks for We Hate Movies is a Trek podcast. I’m so excited.
“The Rebellion will continue to gain support in the Imperial Senate if-”
“The Imperial Senate will no longer be of any concern to us. I’ve just received word that the Emperor has dissolved permanently. The last remnants of the Emperor have been swept away”
“That’s impossible! How will the Senate maintain control without the Emperor?”
Fantastic.
A+, would watch again.

We also had the BLU RAY of the Fellowship of the Ring. Seems odd to have a brand New blu ray of a big name movie that cheap.
FotR is 15 years old and the theatrical single movie Blu-ray is 5 years old.
I find that the cheap bin at Walmart is full of brand new Blu-rays for big name movies, or they wouldn’t be sold at Walmart.
It includes the team of my United State, Arizona!
SPORTS!
You should stick with GoG.
…
Did I do it right?
Citizen Kane Clapping GIF
Yeah, I’ll take another look. “Alter the deal” is tough because we all know he says “altering the deal” and that was the best I could do without including the “ing.” Bit of a bummer because it’s such a great directive.
Anyone else having trouble with that line?
Nope, plain as day for me.
No.
I have realized, CatBus is CatBus from My Neighbourhood Friend Totoro. What a great movie.
You catch on really slow.
I had the same thing but in reverse. I was watching the movie with a friend and shouted “I GET THAT USER NOW!”
Maybe it was Harmful’s Ordinary Rendering.
Someone should start a project to take the Blu-ray and, like, “unspecialize” the footage, using the GOUT and maybe even film scans. It would take a lot of work, first finding someone stupid enough to go through and screencapture every single visual change, then someone else to preserve all the different sound mixes, then find a crazy person who would actually attempt to edit and release them in HD both compressed and uncompressed, preferably multiple times in different stages so we all can contribute suggestions and recommendations.
Isn’t that Harmy’s despecialized edition you’re describing?
I think it’s Harmony’s Unspecialized Version. I read about it on theforce.net.

Can I be offended by the use of “butthurt”? Because I think I am.
Hello.
No.
Do we really need another thread about this exact subject?
