Beru’s second “Hello” has Baby Luke’s echo on it. I will admit that I kind of teared up at the final final bit.

Minority Report
There’s really no reason why I haven’t seen it until this point, but I figured I would love it as it combines a lot of my favorite things (time paradoxes, Speilberg, Tom Cruise action film). However, I found it uneven tonally, to the point of distraction. I could understand having funny scenes, but there were gags just in the middle of things that threw me right off. I liked it well enough, but had it taken itself a bit more seriously I would have liked it even more.
3/5
Am I alone in this?
I wanted to break down the known Infinity Stones and how most of them have been on Earth forever. Figured I’d just come up with my notes here to share.
Space Stone (Tesseract): Hidden/lost on Earth until Loki steals it from SHIELD. Currently in Asgard.
Mind Stone (Septer): Given by Thanos to Loki who loses it on Earth. Currently in Vision’s forehead, on Earth.
Reality Stone (Aether): Hidden/lost on Earth until Malekith steals it from Jane Foster. Currently in Asgard.
Power Stone (Orb): Hidden/lost on Morag until Star-Lord steals it, & Ronan from him. Currently on Xandar.
Time Stone (Eye of Agamotto): Sitting in a libary on Earth until Doctor Strange steals it. Currently back in the library on Earth.
Soul Stone (???): ???
So 3 of the Stones have been on Earth for hundreds/thousands of years (ignoring the easter eggs in Odin’s Vault). One was in Thanos’ possession until he lost it on Earth. One had been on a dead planet for hundreds/thousands of years.
How long has Thanos been searching for them? The one he started with (Mind Stone) he gave to a trickster god who promptly failed to gain the Space Stone. The Reality Stone was hidden in a pocket dimension, IIRC, and we can assume the Time Stone is hidden through magic (it’s possible that Kamar-Taj is in a pocket dimension itself, though it still has wifi).
Infinity War will be interesting, as Thanos has to go through the Avengers (Mind), Asgardians (Space/Reality/Soul?), Guardians (Power), and Sorcerors (Time) to collect them all, even if he only has to go to three planets to do that.
Is it going to embrace the new timeline that J.J. Abrams put into effect?
Nope, just the Prime universe.

Saw Doctor Strange yesterday. Wasn’t very impressed by it. Seemed like the character arced rather quickly while everything else slowed down long enough to explain everything twice.
Before that I watched Exorcist III for the first time, on Blu-ray thanks to Bingowings. I’m not a horror movie fan, but I liked the original Exorcist and I feel that this had a good amount of balance between creepy stuff and weird shit and genuinely scry bits. I haven’t watched the “Director’s Cut”, which should be an interesting experiment.
I imagine it’s more that they’ll be a Klingon captain adversary. A Federation captain doesn’t fit in with Worf being the first Klingon in Starfleet thing.
Maybe they can bend it because Worf was the first to go to the Academy, but hopefully they don’t do that.
FIRST, propose a site rule to impose term limits on all moderators;
SECOND, continue the new user freeze to reduce membership through attrition;
THIRD, a requirement that for every new forum update, two existing updates must be eliminated;
FOURTH, a 5 year-ban on Fo;
FIFTH, a lifetime ban on Fo;
SIXTH, a complete ban on Fo.
There are definitely some FX shots in TMP especially than need some help/haven’t aged well.
That’s why they released the Director’s Cut back in 2001, but they only rendered the effects in 480p, so they haven’t put it on Blu-ray yet. Wait, you’re not talking about The Motion Picture? 😉
I really want the commentary track, but I don’t want to double dip (especially since I don’t even have a 3D tv).
The commentary is only on the iTunes copy, if that helps.
I think you meant that it’s ALSO on the itunes version 😉
SORRY, I was thinking of Star Trek Beyond. I wonder if my iTunes copy got updated with the commentary like my Fury Road got “Black and Chrome”…
DOUBLEPOST:
I blame myself.
doubleofive is tech being updated in the way the death star plans were in a new hope etc. so maybe it could match the prequels i mean not everything in the prequels were bad just most of it 😦
Adywan will be downgrading the tech in the prequels.
so does that included the death star plans as seen in attack of the clones is not going to be in a new hope revisited hd and is cg and cg yoda staying in the prequels
No, the Death Star plans in the original verison of ANH is inaccurate and creates continuity errors, so that would stay. Knowing Ady, I imagine we won’t see anything about the Death Star at all in the prequels.
Also knowing Ady, he’ll probably insist on building a Yoda puppet to replace the CG, but hopefully we can talk him out of it. 😉

Don’t forget that I will be launching TVS FRINK COMPUTER TV this evening during our victory party.

so from how long i guess the wampa etc. scenes are going to take i guess it’s safe to assume the edit won’t be out this yearThat’s a lot of guessing and assumption. I’m gonna guess and assume that it’s not going to be rushed just to get it out before it’s good and ready.
I going to guess and assume that ImpFight’s guess & assumption is accurate.

No.
Maybe this has been asked before, but I didn’t see it on the last couple pages so I’ll ask. If Rogue One shows any detailed, complete image of the Death Star plans, will ANHR-HD be altered to match it? Or will it stick with the design in the original Revisited?
If Adywan likes it maybe. He’s not beholden to the new canon, but will take something if he likes it.

I skimmed through this, which was probably as much as I could take. I’d say we’re probably keeping a version of most of them.
Am I the peanut gallery?
I’m asking for a friend.
Yes did you finish you homework so now you have time to use the internet.
Please don’t antagonize Frink.
At the risk of delaying the project, a possible solution to the Emperor’s “Luke Skywalker” line may have surfaced.
Well i’m not too bothered about the Emperor calling him Young Skywalker in ESB:R, because this is the way he addresses him in ROTJ, so it fits in with the character. But, if this software ends up working the way they say it will, this could be a godsend for the prequel edits.
Adywan i have an idea if the software the guy linked you to works maybe you could use it to get rid of the fake British accent carrie fisher used in a new hope.
There’s nothing wrong with her using an accent in the two scenes she’s actually trying to be a diplomat.

What are you talking about?
Don’t worry about it.
I don’t recall this 35mm/70mm VFX differences. If anyone could find them, I’d love to add them to the Visual Comparisons.
