I’m a few hours into Wind Waker HD now. So far, it’s great. I can see why people complained about the slow sailing on the GC version, but the new Swift Sail takes care of that and it’s available pretty early on.

Is it a Wii game? Then it probably sucks.

Skyward Sword is my favorite game of all time!

CLARIFICATION: is a Wii port? Then it probably sucks.

I prefer the Wii version of Twilight Princess to the the GC. Is that considered a port?

This is a good question. I never played the Wii version, but from what I understand, it’s a mirror of the GC version, making Link right handed like most of their players. Since it was developed in parallel, I’m going to say it doesn’t count as a port, and it’s first party anyway.

FURTHER CLARIFICATION: Is it a Wii port of a third party game? Then it probably sucks.

The title font in the crawl isn’t wrong, it’s just not the font used in RotJ and the Prequels.

(I’m limiting myself to one critique, and not going to point out how impossible character replacement is.)

(oops)

Well I ended up learning something in this thread. I didn’t know those fonts differed. Are they close-but-imperfect matches? Do Jedi and the PT match one another? And they switched back to a more accurate typeface for TFA?

As you can see, TFA uses the same title font as A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. Return of the Jedi used a different font that they used throughout the prequels. The R’s are the biggest clues.

Well, I think it’s even more funnier that Krennic traveled to another planet for who knows how many hours to have a one minute discussion with Vader, ha.

Vader doesn’t have a phone in his retreat.

I just meant that there must’ve been an easier way to deliver a one sentence message, even for Vader who has to suit up for this “meeting”. I don’t mind it, I like the scene, I just find it a little funny if you think about it but I try not to.

I, too, was kidding.

Agreed that this would be great, just as the battle droid was great. U-Wings parked in the Yavin hangar (though not flying out to combat, wrong type of mission for that) would be great too.

I like all of this. But, one could theorize that they only had two U-Wings and both went down at Scarif.

One could also theorize that all K2 droids were removed from Imperial Service immediately following review of footage from Jedha and Scarif demonstrating they can easily be reprogrammed and are thus a security risk.

I mean, one could

Or that we don’t see them in the 3 hallways we see in ANH.

Head canon time!

Han could have called ahead to Bespin

Sending a signal might give away their position in the middle of space without a hyperdrive, bringing the Empire on them.

Luke could have called The Falcon from Degobah to see if his vision was true

Maybe you have to know where a ship is to contact them. I remember something in Episode II about Obi-Wan having to relay a message to Coruscant through Anakin, but he had to find out that Anakin was on Tatooine beforehand.

The Rebel fleet could have waited safely until the Endor strike team called to say the shield is down

Probably communications jammers all over Endor. And a delay between bringing down the shield and the fleet attacking means the Empire could call in a fleet to defend them (which they had as part of the trap anyway).

Qui-Gon could have called the council/senate as soon as they had cleared the communications blackout on Naboo.

Prequels were not thought out? Alternatively, could be the same as the Falcon, not wanting to call attention to a ship with high priority targets on it with no hyperdrive.

So my end theory is you have to know exactly where the ships are, unless you broadcast and give away your location.

shrug

I was very surprised at how good the story in X-Wing: Alliance was. Even better, you can buy it from GOG or Steam, and then upgrade the graphics with the shockingly long-lived XWA Upgrade Project.

Whoa, thanks for the point to the upgrade. Definitely how I’ll play it when I get around to it.

Same here!

I remember streaming the teaser trailer on my parent’s computer, taping one of the trailer premieres off of some entertainment news show and rewatching it over and over again, reading a primitive trailer breakdown that figured that Qui-Gon was going to die which I should not have highlighted to read, standing in line in the mall parking garage to end up getting tickets to a showing the day after, my stepdad and I listening to a review on the radio that started with Anakin saying “everything’s overheated”, easily collecting the fast food toys because my dad worked at Pizza Hut and my stepmom at Taco Bell, and having the timecodes memorized on my dad’s training VHS that explained what the hype was about by showing both trailers (which I still have and would be fun to have digitized).

I don’t remember actually seeing the movie, except for being excited to see a new Star Wars movie for the first time in my life and dreading the end knowing that Qui-Gon was going to die. I remember seeing it 4 more times (including once by myself when my grandparents wanted to go to the movies and NOT see that and winning a Jar Jar doll from a crane game) in some kind of misguided attempt to have a Star Wars movie at the top of the All Time Box Office list to beat Titanic.

Are any of the commercials on that tape? There do not seem to be any decent quality versions on youtube. Those ads with Col. Sanders, the Taco Bell dog, and a Pizza Hut delivery gal were a lot of fun.

I don’t think so. I don’t remember any of it being entertaining besides the trailers, but I only watched the rest of it once 18 years ago.

If it’s hilarious and weird, consider contacting the Found Footage Festival!

I lack the technology to watch it!
