No, in Jedi the cockpit shots were filmed at closer range so you couldn't see out of the cockpits rear windows most of the time, plus i don't have to add that bloody middle strut to every Falcon cockpit window scene ever again.

LOL

The pain you put yourself through to fix things that should have never been broken or fixed by ILM in the first place...

Well the painting is about 85% complete. problem is now that its so hot here at the moment that i can't work on it during the day because the paint dries way too quick, so that's slowed me down a lot. I'm hoping i can get it finished tonight then i can scan it. I'm not going down the photography route because the results just weren't good enough. Its going to be fun scanning it in on an A4 scanner though. :)

I'm trying to imagine you standing there holding this huge canvas down on this tiny scanner, and tapping your foot while it takes forever to scan. Then you have to stitch it back together on your computer... Sounds like a fun project. :-P

i stand corrected..

what i meant was , it can possibly SHARE files that you don't intend it to..

when you first set it up, it looks for other media to share beyond just the
ones you should be sharing...in p2p torrent applications that can NEVER happen,
as you only can share the files you are getting, unless you set up a torrent to
seed......in limewire, you might have file sharing on, and inadvertently share
out your desktop/private files/etc unwittingly, which is what happened to the
user asking the question...

sorry for the confusion...........yes, limewire is a useful application,
its just not as easy to use sometimes for the beginning user........thats what i meant..

(i had it working once, but now it refuses to run on my computer)..

I'm far from being an accomplished file sharer. I may switch programs based on your recommendation, since I don't want to share My Documents anyway.

...When I keep hearing stories about how even people with widescreen tv's don't care about everything getting stretched out and even get pissed off when someone tries to properly set it, I wonder.

Then again, the difference between anamorphic and non-anamorphic is rather insignificant when compared to the difference between sd and hd.

What upsets me is I just got a lot more HD channels on my cable, and several of them (TNT, HGTV, Food, A&E) pre-stretch out everything that's not 16:9. TNT even labels everything "HD", even when they are 15 year old shows. With networks saying things like this:

TNT.tv said:

Why does the screen look “stretched” when I watch TNT in HD?

In an effort to present a consistent broadcast, we have decided to maintain the same aspect ratio for all HD programming. An unfortunately consequence of this is that the standard TV ratio of 4:3 is presented as 16:9. This is what “stretches” the image. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused.

how can we expect the average viewer to understand that shows shouldn't be watched like this?! I'm always explaining to the ladies at work that things filmed in widescreen should be wide and things in fullscreen should be full, but when the networks don't even understand that, how does my argument hold water? TNT can't do it, but Disney Channel and ABC Family have the right aspect ratios? I'm disappointed.

Kind of off-topic, but strangely relevant.

1)limewire is not a .torrent application, and it CAN possibly share files,
avoid it

Limewire is my first application like this in years, so I may not be up on the definitions of a "torrent application", but my Revisited XVID, Revisited DVD-5, and 40 episodes of the Naruto: Shippuden anime would disagree with you. Why would you have a torrent app that wouldn't share the file? Aren't you supposed to have to pass it on?

As for it being released on standard dvd again, I'm convinced that won't happen unless there's a day and date Blu-ray to go along with it. Ya think maybe people are getting tired of double/triple/quadruple dips?

Have you seen the Indiana Jones Special Edition DVDs with no BluRay in sight? Yeah, I wouldn't put it past Lucas to give us the OOT on DVD again.

Is that for a torrent or something like RapidShare? I avoid torrents because one of the first times I tried it, I later found that while I was downloading what I wanted, the torrent app was UPLOADING RANDOM FILES FROM MY COMPUTER WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE!

I avoid torrents like the plague now.

You know, you can set the settings to not share things from your computer. I only use Torrrents for downloading, and it shares the one file that I'm downing at the time.

I used to share everything, till I decided not to be a dirty pirate. :-P

Adywan (or anyone else) - Has anyone put up any specifically 'PURIST' version cover art, or disc art also, do you know? If so, where please? If not, there's a gap there surely...

By the way, am awaiting my own PIFed copy of the 'PURIST' version soon, and have 'g-rev' on board for one from me then. So the first next two to PM me can also get it from me. I'm in U.K. but will accept from anywhere. :)

No, no one has made any PURIST cover art. I was thinking about it, but without any special features or even menus, I didn't think it was worth it.

That wasn't a trampoline, and you can't hear the bounce, no noise is recorded on the set like that, everything is done later in editing. You do hear Luke land, and his head pop back up from his crouched stance when he landed.

Even so, Vader gets knocked down and disappears, Luke jumps after him and stands up where we can see him. Where did a 6-foot man in a breathing apparatus disappear to if its a 4-foot trench?

And thanks to seven for the thread condensation. I've been meaning to do that.

hello guys and adywan i just saw your star wars revisited and i was blown away so much. when i heard you made the dvd 5 i have been trying to find it. i found it once on a torrnet website but it seemed that i had to burn it. i have been trying to find it on any website but only found the original one. i even tried usenet but i have no credit card and i don't want to risk it. so plz could anyone here be a pal and direc me to a site i could download it so i could watch it on my computer or could you send it to me by mail

thanks if anyone listens

You can find the downloads on fanedit.org. If you want to just watch it on your computer, you can download the XVID version, but its more of a rough draft. You'll have to burn a copy of the DVD-5 if that's what you want, or someone will contact you willing to send you a copy with your promise that you'll pass it on.

I like it, but I would get rid of that big word "SAMPLE" on it. Just doesn't look right.

ROFL... yeah a big "c" in a circle would be more Star Wars-y

so no Vader image, eh? (just asking folks, no need for anyone to call down fire from the sky)

Sneak peek. I expect to see Vader shortly (because I decided to be demanding and dickish like that).

Ok...So I'm at that point in my life where I go "Do I give my 3 year old son access to all my old vintage Star Wars toys?"
I had a lot as a kid growing up...was an only adopted child..guess my parents tried to please me...and still have all my figures and vehicles all in pretty mint condition in my parents loft. Do I give them to my son and let him totally ruin them....or just leave them there?
It's a tough one....He's just starting to like the films and loves the lightsaber he has, and I know I had the best childhood with my toys, I want him to be feel the same way...but that was a whole different time...things have changed just a bit too much for him to really appreciate all those wonderful toys!

Dunno?!?! I've always said I wouldn't let my kids play with my old SW toys..but it seems a waste to just leave them there.

I wouldn't overwhelm him with all of them. A lot of my figures are already beat up because I played with them my entire life, so I'll probably let my future kids tear them up even more. I would just let your kid play with a few of main figures, if they're not in really good condition. Or you could just buy some beat up ones at a flea market.

Well things are going pretty smoothly at the moment. Not far to go with the painting now and the actual DVd structure is complete, so that is just waiting for the finished cover and it'll done. Hopefully the PAL will be available from May 4th (just had to pick that day) and the NTSC will be available straight after.

Here's another sneak peak at the painting:

Still not sure what route i'm going down to digitize the picture yet though.

Wow. I cannot wait to see the finished product. I'm more excited about the cover than I am the DVD-9! (Just a little more excited)

So I'm the only one who quite likes Alien Resurrection?

Okay, so it sucks as a follow-up to the previous three, but if you see it more as another OTT, blackly comic Jean Pierre Jeunet film in the style of Delicatessen and City Of Lost Children, it's a lot of fun. I've learned to enjoy it a lot more than I did when I first saw it. It's also interesting to see how Joss Whedon (who hated Jeunet's approach to the material as well) later adapted some of the character types of the crew into the crew from Firefly/Serenity.

After watching Firefly/Serenity, I did like the movie more, seeing what the crew of Serenity evolved from. I still don't think its very good, but I liked it better than I did.

So, Ron Perlman or Adam Baldwin: which one is a better badass?

I just heard this 'rule of two' thing on MADtv on Saturday. I still don't know what it means, really. Can anyone supply a good link to explain it? (or just do it themselves if they have a minute)

Yoda in TPM says "Always two there are, no more, no less. A master, and an apprentice." The EU story goes that there were once thousands of Sith until they all tried to kill each other, nearly driving them to extinction. The only Sith left (I'm trying to do this without looking up anything, so I don't know his name) took one apprentice, and it pretty much became a rule from then on that there would only be two so they wouldn't be too tempted to just wipe each other out. It's assumed that if the apprentice was taking an apprentice, then the master was on his way out. The problem is that according to the EU, Vader had at least two apprentices and was actively searching for Luke to be his next and Palpatine had at least two others also. Maybe they were going to repopulate the Sith after 2000 years.

Or the EU isn't worth it anymore.
