obi-wan got anakins saber

Obi-wan stopping to pick up Anakin's saber had to be filmed in pick-up shots because Lucas forgot all about it and wrote it in at the last minute.  And no attempt to make the scene even match the original trilogy, either.

Only because someone reminded Lucas well after the filming was done.

Actually there is no jump cut when the gun appears. What's happened is that they speeded up the film to make the gun come out faster. I have checked this shot frame by frame and there are no missing frames. What looks unnatural to the eye is that because the shot was originally slower there is no motion blur on the gun when there should be.

Interesting! I always thought maybe it was stop-motion animated, for whatever reason there would be for doing such a thing. Is there a way of making it slower without actually making it slower, if you know what I mean?

As for the explosion immediately after, could some extra little explosion or something help to hide some of the hidden frames?

I also agree about the PT sabers. To me, there's a little too much sharp separation of white and color, and why would they have sharp tips like a real sword? They're just beams of energy. I dunno, I still think the ones in ESB are the best.

that's one part i can't agree with the pt lightsabers are fine the way they are. the only thing that needs to be changed in windu's lightsaber color.

the ot lightsabers had to be re rotocoped because in each film, there was never any cosistency with the blades (anh having thin lightsaber, and rotj having fat sabers)

But lightsabers that are pointy on the end sometimes?  That at least needs to be fixed.

ALSO: Ady put a time limit on adding your real name to the credits.  You have until July 1 to PM me your name or it will default to your screenname only.  I have 321 screennames and 43 of them have real names to go with them.

Well, anyway...nobody gets the bonus points.

This is what I did...and it's gonna stupidly simple.

All I did was Chroma-Key the green of Luke's saber, and has a pure blue 'layer' under the main video. Voila! Instant blue saber...or red...or any other color you want. :)

You green-screened his saber?!  That's awesome!  It worked really well for just doing that!

i was wondering if there should/could be differences in the sabers lazer sizes like broadsword size rapier size and so on

I'm not sure on either should/could.  Really doesn't make much difference, as broadswords are heavier by nature than rapiers, but lightsaber blades are theoretically weightless.  You could try to thicken or thin them all day, but it wouldn't make a difference except to be another thing to worry about keeping consistant.

Where have you been, this house is a mess lol

Just curious, because I forgot, what programs/hardware do you need to burn images onto a disk, I know about the "disk burners" but I'm confused. I really want adys disk art!

For burning images onto a disc, you need a LightScribe drive, or something like it.  Its a special disc burner that burns the data on normal or special discs, then you can flip over the special disc and burn a B&W image on the other side.  Most people around here just print out an image on an Avery label or whatever and stick it on there.  Being paranoid, I heard that the stickers can mess up the data over time, so I didn't even write on my DVD-9s of ANHR!

I always use printable discs and my Epson printer will print directly on the disc in photo quality

I forgot about those.  Never used one.  Sounds awesome though!

It's not bad editing.  It's seeing the same event twice from different viewpoints.  There are some movies completely built around that premise.  How else can you follow both the probe droid and Luke at the same time?  Split-screen?

I gotta disagree with this.  It seems to be two different probes represented by filming one landing at different angles.  This was just a cost-cutting measure by LFL.

Sure, but Ady flipped the reverse shot, so now its even more obvious that they are the same explosion.

So are you saying that Ady making the two shots into one singular event as far as the story goes?

Yes, they are the same event viewed at two different times, just as I've always assumed (and apparently Ady had as well).

What I find hilarious is that anything bad about ESB is Lucas' fault, but anything good is Kershner's.

Now you are catching on! It is too bad Kersh was powerless to stop Lucas from meddling with his movie!! :P

I believe Ady was touching up the scenes to remove the footprints from around where the explosion happened.

You are kiddin, right?

No, Ady really has removed the footpri--- oh, that's not what you're talking about.  Pretty sure the ":P" means he's kidding. ;-)

The first page is completely updated with every change Ady is doing.  It should be the first place anyone goes.  Even those who have been here the whole time.

Although I only registered now, I've been reading this forum for a year.

I read the first page but I didn't notice that change, that's why I posted. Sorry once again. Mistakes happens.

It was more advice for everyone, not just you.  Don't worry about it.  :-)

I worked hard on the first page list, want to make sure its used properly.
