I’ll admit my first couple times through I didn’t understand why they had to blow a hole in the shield gate when Bodhi could get a signal to the Rebel Fleet no problem, but there is an explanation. Admittedly I was projecting so I apologize if my comment upset you in any way. As it pertains to the chain of events during the Battle of Scariff I found the whole thing with the shield to be unnecessary. The pacing of the battle would have been so much smoother had Jyn and Cassian taken the floppy disk we see in STAR WARS to Leia. The best way to do this of course is to have them travel to Coruscant which would kill two Mynocks with one blaster shot. I don’t even want to know the explanation for why Leia was at that battle.

They had to BEAM the transmissions to her ship to line up with ANH.

I wish Lucas had just had everyone disappear, but I’m sure he kept Qui-Gon in one piece because he wanted the funeral scene. Can you imagine how Order 66 would be if everyone disappeared as soon as they died? Just piles of robes everywhere. I’d love it. Instead we get a tacked on scene in RotS where Yoda explains that Qui-Gon figured out how to not become one with the Force after becoming one with the Force.

Thought there were 5 post-credit scenes.

Rey knows all about Han Solo and the Rebellion, but doesn’t know about “Jedi Mind Tricks”? I believe the in-universe is that everyone has seen or heard the equivalent of the OT. Sure, they may be rumors or just fantasy, but its “true, all of it”. Wouldn’t you try to use the mind trick if you found out that Star Wars was real? I still wave my hand whenever I pass through an automatic door.

To be fair, I coined the phrase “What The Special Editions Should Have Been”, these are basically Ady’s personal edits that he happens to share with the rest of the world. I did seriously push for killing Lando, but Ady wouldn’t go for it because he personally didn’t like it, not because of some responsibility to continuity.

That being said, I am glad to have it confirmed that Lando won’t be making a sudden departure in ROTJ:R. As much as I respect that it’s Ady’s edit, that would be one change to far for me. As long as the end celebration music is replaced with the original music (or at least the current SE music replaced with something more respectful to the OT) and Vader / Ananikan’s force ghost restored to the original actor instead of Hayden that GL shoehorned in there to try and forcibly tie the PT into the OT, I’ll be very happy. One of my most hated changes by GL was when he changed that and changed the music with the extended ending celebration.

Personally, I like “Victory Celebration”. Sure I miss “Yub Nub”, but its a good ending to Return of the Jedi, maybe to the trilogy, but certainly not to the whole saga. Personally.

But, this isn’t the thread for any of this anyway.

“Save Lando” is the gift that keeps on giving, going on 8 years now.

I also like that people are STILL not understanding that Ady is making these edits to make the six movies tie better together, and insist on bringing up the EU & possible future movies, as if he could predict what’s going to happen in movies that are going to come out every year until our grandchildren are worried about what order to show the movies to their children.
