*SPOILERS*
So... why do you think Desmond ran Locke down? My first guess was that he wanted to give him a life/death experience that, like Charlie, would cause him to see/remember the other timeline. Me? I'd rather make-out with Libby at the beach... but whatever.
My workmate thinks that Desmond, somehow, is bringing them all to the Hospital. Jack is there, Jin/Sun are on their way there, maybe Charlie is still there, Claire, perhaps Sawyer is taking Kate there. It sort of makes sense.
Getting them all the to hospital? I don't think so. Its definitely the near death experience, though I'm not sure Locke will like what he sees. The rest of the people had true love on the Island. Unless Locke's true love is the Island. He's in a unique position because he's dead in the normal universe. Wait, Charlie is dead, and he doesn't seem to mind the glimpses into the normal universe.
My question(s) upon thinking is this: Was Charlie a candidate? Do only candidates get glimpses into their other life, or if we hit Ben in the head hard enough will he see Alex as his daughter?

I love the work Angel, but if I could nitpick, the Star Destroyer should be a great deal larger than the current ships. Like 50% larger, as seen in the upper right hand corner of this sci-fi size comparison image.

Why not have V'ger launch a log probe while de-rezzing and as the coda see it whiz through space and fall into "what they used to call a Black Hole".
Then have a caption saying "In the 13th Century... Delta Quadrant " and show the probe exit a White Hole and enter the orbit of the Machine Planet (or you could even adapt the temporal distortion effect seen in First Contact.
The location and the time would be enough to link the data to the formation of the Borg and that the probe has fallen backwards in time.
You could add a Borg cube for added fan service if you want.
That would seem more like V'ger was creating itself. The transmission can't go too far back in time, as then the machine planet would have the message BEFORE it got Voyager 6, which means they would already know how to try to achiever perfection and wouldn't have sent it on its way to

I've wondered about projects like this, as there are several movies in my mind that could use some bluescreen cleanup. No hard edits, just some tweaks here and there.

If we're worried about a confusing ending, how much more confusing will adding the Borg make it? How can we make it clear that V'ger helped create the Borg? I like the idea for maybe a post-credits sequence (looks like we're going to have a lot of pre/post credits stuff in this edit!).
Idea: add some kind of morse-code-like sound to the "V'ger Disappears" sequence, fading out as the E appears. Then, after the credits, have that sound fade in as the music fades, then show a cube under construction or alone in space. Signal stops suddenly, maybe have the picture cut at the same time.
If the sound is subtle enough in the main film, it might work!

Not sure on the ending. I think the vague 2001-esque ending works well enough. They join, they evolve to a higher plane of existence. I'm not sure we need teasers or anything attached it it.
I found some incredible work I had to share with you guys. I've been lurking on scifi-meshes.com, seeing what people can do with enough CG, and then I found this:
This guy recreated the E leaving drydock scene and it is incredible. Jump directly to the video.
I looked for other stuff he's done, and he's made a 3D model of the flightdeck! It's even to scale to the interior of the E. With some further detailing so it better matches the live action plate, we might be able to use it.
I can't do anything with it, but others might. It's available for download (along with other models, including the TMP Rec Deck, Engineering, and Bridge) here. They are 3D Studio Max files, I believe.
I messaged him about his models, and he told me of a fan edit he is currently working on, a Star Trek V edit replacing every visual effect in the movie. Some of this is incredible. YouTube Channel
I'm not saying we should try replacing all of the effects, but someone theoretically could.

"The Thaw" is right up there with "Threshhold" as my least favorite episode of Voyager. Ugh, it freaked me out.

I wouldn't blame the phones, I'd blame your friends. What I mean is--
ack!
What's happening?!
Dr Niles Crane says:
Mr. ThreePeeEcks, I have to say that it sounds like your friends suffer from what we in the business call "Fear of Missing Out". Even though they are physically with you, the need to know what they might be missing overwhelms them so that they can't focus on where they are. These people can never truly be happy. "The grass is always greener" indeed!
Now I apologize, but I must head to Café Nervosa to meet with my brother. Though I do wonder what this "Starbucks" is like...

What makes you so sure it was me? Why would Fink know? I find these accusations of lying to be quite offensive!!
I know that Total Frink corrupts totally. Whose idea was the Crane Brothers? Frink. He talked VFP and I separately into getting those socks. Who love chaos and random posting more than any other? Frink. His word is law here in Off Topic. Things are not "LOL" unless he posts that they are.
If TV's Frink says you were DGT, you were, even if you weren't. He retroactively makes it so.

Wait, I thought Fink said it was not me? I am so confused now! Was it me or wasn't it?! My head hurts! Where is my precious Gaffer Tape? I need to lay my head on his breast and take a nap to clear my mind.
It was truly a sarcastic guess. I assumed since TVF was making so sure that we knew it wasn't his deliberate misspelling that it must be the actual person. Apparently I ruined some big joke he was setting up.
