I'm not hot on the gas mining facility, it doesn't seem to move right.
Is that the doohickey in the lower left during the first shot of the approach to Cloud City?  It didn't look like it was moving to me so much as the camera was moving, making it appear to move (if that made sense).

But I'm not even sure if I'm looking at the right thing.
That's the one. It just looks like a zoom rather than a camera move past it. It'll work.

Also, to be nitpicky, the reflection at the end of the hall before the cut to the elevator shot is still the pre-SE version. Not sure how much Ady could do with it though.

So if you meet Frink in real life, he will buy you stuff to keep quiet about him? That's what I'm getting from this. ;-)

You should see all the things I've bought my wife!
Actual LOL

Hey!  I don't (because I haven't been able to) edge in on your free netbook and hotwings deals... YOU DON'T GET A PIECE OF THIS ONE!  Alright?!?!

STEP OFF, 005!  THIS FREE CRAP IS ALL MINE!
Sorry, I'll back off from your sugar daddy.

Hey guys, should all this recent mockup stuff be in ESB:R or ESB/ROTJ Wishlist, or an entirely new thread, similar to the ANH:Redux thread?

I doubt it's the first one, because we're not Adywan.
It is my belief that mockups for suggestions that Adywan has not vetoed outright are welcome. As I'm not sure that Adywan has realized that this is a possibility, the current mockups are on topic.

Just think, a whole new world of color correction awaits!

And even more work for 005... prequels, even!
Thank god I already established I do not deal in changes to color or brightness. ;-) The Emperor slug fix, sure, but not the even-more-pink lightsabers.

And I realized something watching that RotJ clip in HD: the new Sarlacc beak is now my least favorite SE change. It looks awful. It's low resolution, it's textures are flat, and its completely unnecessary.

What are you reading?

We take turns reading aloud.  Most of the time it's just on long drives (like finishing Mocking Jay) but depending on how well we're enjoying a book, we might actually spend valuable movie/TV time reading it aloud.  That's usually reserved for special books like Harry Potter or the last 20-30 pages of a good one.

It works quite well for us, but most couples respond that they've never tried it and/or that they can't imagine it working.  It's nice, because we're always "at the same spot" in the book and can talk about it while we read it.  Sort of like a book club, but where people actually read the book, we don't get sloshed, and there is very little neighbourhood gossip.
The weekend the last Harry Potter book came out, my wife and I visited another couple, got the book at midnight, and did this all weekend. When we got tired of reading aloud, we read silently (yes, we bought 4 copies) for a few chapters, then met together to talk about it before reading another few chapters aloud. Unfortunately we ran out of time before we had to head home, but I finished reading it to my wife in the car on the way.

They also had another promotion that one of their fan club members could win 1984 wings (they were founded in 1984, I guess). Mrs O'Five got a call that she had won some gift cards, so she went to the post office to pick them up. Inside the envelope were 3 $500 and 1 $484 gift cards.

Mmmmm, dystopian onion rings. Wow, that is amazing! Two grand in gift cards from a place that serves beer.
Just checked my $20 card, its good on all "food, beverages, and gratuity".

So a few weeks ago the new restaurant in town had a contest on Facebook. Buffalo Wings & Rings wanted quotes for their new menu. I submitted one and they picked it! So they sent me a $20 gift card!

You should have seen the manager's face when the newest restaurant in the chain had both the grand prize winner and one of the menu quotes from the same family. Apparently she wants us in the paper.

So when I promised that I would buy beer for anyone who comes to visit me, apparently I wasn't kidding. I'll even buy food. ;-)

^Is it?  I assumed that as long as you owned the original cart that you could emulate it to your hearts content.

Obviously, there are a lot of people emulating ROMs that they don't own in any form...  but I think you can emulate without being a pirate.
Perhaps if you own the original cart, it could be justified. I'm just saying that Nintendo would probably view emulation as piracy if it meant you wouldn't buy this week's re-release of *insert Mario game here*.

It's control layout being a tradition Nintendo setup makes it ideal for emulating old Nintendo systems.

....

With the price drop, I'd consider grabbing one instead of a DSi, but then I've heard a lot of murmurs that Nintendo intends to monitor and ban, or possibly even brick units, that are used to run unauthorized software (i.e. pirated stuff, which I don't care about; and homebrew which is all I care about).
I hate to break it to you, but emulation is piracy, especially games you can buy in the Nintendo eStore. Just saying. :-)

I think Ady already said that he would be using the Blus. I guess he could even re-render stuff for ESB:R by simply using the Blu-Ray footage seeing as it will be the same basic transfer - although as it seems there will be more colour changes (screw-ups) he'd have to redo the colour correction.
I don't think the minor bitrate upgrade after being downgraded to 720p would be worth starting over on the color correction. And have we seen proof that they haven't just done their own color correction on the 2004 base?
