Just saw the Empire one. That's the cover I grew up with, so its really sentimental for me. I can't wait until its done. If I could find the GOUT, That's what I would put it in.

Talk to Ady, I'm sure he'd be willing to accept it as a donation.

Actually the Ronto Ass is the only side-by-side photo I really like.  I think for Empire I'd have chosen a heavily cyanified Hoth shot (I think there's a good one with the probe droid and a walker in your Picasa album), and for Jedi I'd have chosen the Hayden ghost or created one showing Lapti Nek vs. Jedi Rocks, preferably using the ridiculous waggling uvula shot.

The source files, like his editing timeline and all of his elements? I'm sure that's prohibitively huge to be released. I'm not sure if Ady has the hard drives to keep them around though once he's done.

It will be well over 4GB, let me assure you.

Some relatives of some friends of mine are getting their home redone on Extreme Makeover Home Edition this week. Pretty neat to see. They run a home for single mothers in Knoxville, and have three adopted kids. My Alma Mater just gave the kids a free ride, one of my other friends, the sister of the family who is a missionary in Africa got to fly back for the reveal. It's really neat.

The only part I can't get over yet is that the celebrity they picked to host was Jenny McCarthy, the former Playboy model now best known for saying that vaccinations cause autism. Really, to help a Christian family who run a center for single moms, and that's the best they can do?

Birdemic: Shock And Terror

Finally watched this on Netflix. Didn't even make it to the title card without stopping, buying the RiffTrax, then starting over. 5 minutes later my drink was coming out of my nose I was laughing so hard.

Imagine you wanted to make a environmentalist movie, so you got a bunch of your friends to run around making speeches and driving from place to place in your county running from birds. Now imagine that cost a lot more than you planned, so you have no money left over for all of the bird attacks that comprise the last half of the movie so you use animated GIFs of birds to hover around the frame. Then imagine that as you're cutting together the movie, you notice that you should have listened to that one guy and used boom mics while recording, but its too late for that and everyone that was in the movie went back to working at the convenience store, so you just leave the audio completely inaudible and changing every shot. Finally, you only have $2 left to pay the composer, who writes a minute long piece which you loop through the movie.

Like I said on Twitter, this movie makes The Room look like Citizen Kane. Tommy may be a crazy person, but at least he knows the basic structure of shooting scenes and recording audio.

You have to watch it. Now.

The best conventions for what, exactly? I'm guessing the official Star Wars one is best for Star Wars, and so on.

Rise of the Apes

Got it on Blu on a whim. Glad I did. Mrs. O'Five went into it saying how she didn't like monkeys, but she was "aww"-ing towards the end. I'd watch more if they made them.

Let me stress that Episode 1 was mastered at 2k Episodes 2 & 3 were recorded at 1080p. Lucas doesn't want the "second" trilogy outshining the "first", does he now?

As far as we can gather, the 97 SE was scanned at 1080p (the same resolution Episodes 2 & 3 were recorded at) and further modified at that resolution into what was put on DVD and shown on HDTV. That 1080p master was again used for the Blu-ray, uncompressed, but still bearing a lot of the problems the DVD apparently had at its source.

There you go. They're pretty hefty. It's really sad how well one can recreate the official episode titles since they are barely modified Times New Roman. The roman numerals on the disc art are a little more rounded, but close enough for my purposes.

Selecting a picture should bring up an interface that allows you to download the full file. The transition from Picasa to Google Photos isn't working so well. I will get them up elsewhere soon.

The bottom part of the back is a little snarky, but I couldn't help myself. ;-) I'm willing to upload blanks for others to modify if there is demand.

I have Illustrator, so that would work nicely! I need to play with vectors more, my 5 could use some sharpening...
