i don’t get the “obi-wan should never refer to R2 by name”. honestly, it doesn’t change anything, because they’re still in the very same room and Anakin calls him by his name so… it just seems a bit pointless to me.

It’s an effort to reconcile Obi-Wan not “recognizing” R2 in ANH, when his actions in ANH can just as easily be interpreted as either Obi-Wan teasing R2 or just simply not caring about droids all that much.

Would a Netflix capture or the iTunes release be higher quality?

I imagine the 4K Dolby Vision iTunes release is going to beat it out. I don’t think there’s a need to preserve the Netflix version.

Every shifting aspect ratio movie I’ve run across is flat on their digital copies, Nolan, Ghostbusters, etc.

Is the 4K iTunes copy flat? If so, my bad!

Yes, I can’t think of an iTunes copy that shifts aspect ratios for any movie. I can confirm TDK personally though.

This Shot is flipped Horizontally. It makes a lot more sense flopped with the planet on the left and the guy on the right… But It’s your decision what you want to do about that one…

They actually flipped the trees for the SE, I guess for lighting reasons, but it still doesn’t seem to match the lighting on the guy or the ships.

The Silver Screen Edition, the SE is what’s bad.

Chewielewis say: “On the SE and the GOUT it’s a clean cut”. And in his picture example, it’s written: Special Edition Team Blue.

I missed that part. That makes no sense, since I can’t beliece any film damage would have happened between the creation of the SE and the DVD version 7 years later.
