The Enderverse (WAS: Finally! Ender's Game emerges from Development Hell!)

And finally, the last part of the trailer: WHY WOULD YOU PUT THAT IN THE TRAILER???
Here's what I said: "Oh nice, they put the ending of the movie right on the trailer. Thanks, guys."

I'll need to watch it again, I tried to watch it with my wife, but she kept insisting that Ender is played by Matthew Lillard's son. "Is that Matthew Lillard's son?" "I don't think so." "Are you sure?" "It just said his last name is Butterfield." "He looks a lot like Matthew Lillard."

Well, to CBS' credit, there were mindful of the fans who wanted the original effects intact on the Blu Rays.

That's what I was sure to thank him for. We're going to try to have him back so I can gush while we're recording.

Cool! Does he have any involvement in the current TNG HD remastering? I saw The Best of Both Worlds on the big screen a couple weeks back, and the efforts to use as much of the original model footage as possible is certainly paying off.
I don't think so.

What is the best fan reconstruction of SW Theatrical in full HD?
Harmy has the best reconstruction, though there are upscales of the Laserdisc that work better than the GOUT DVD.

Also might look into using Puggo's 8mm, as its already crappy looking. (no offense to Puggo)

Anyone have (If it exists) a copy of the Jabba in falcon hanger deleted scene without digi-slug-Jabba?
Such a thing does not exist. Only Jambe Davdar's "Star Wars Begins" has been able to reconstruct it, but it switches between a dozen or so sources, including an Entertainment Tonight credits sequence.

Last night I recorded a podcast with Dave Rossi as a guest. He was involved in most of the modern Trek, but we were talking Enterprise, which he was Associate Producer on. He also produced TOS Remastered, so before we recorded I talked to him a bit about it.

He gave a story I've read elsewhere, that CBS talked to him about having someone redo the effects, and he immediately said that was a terrible idea, look what Lucas did! A few days later they came back and asked if he still thought it was a terrible idea, and he said that he still did, but that if they were to do it, they need to find someone who wouldn't go too far and would keep things balanced. So CBS said, "You want to do it?"

He continued on with stuff I'd never heard before. CBS Digital was very aware of the controversy they might be causing, and they actually had shirts made of Edith Keeler holding a phaser that said "Edith Shot First". I'm going to see if I can get a picture of these shirts.

Thought you all might appreciate that tidbit more than most.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

From the script (emphasis mine):

Darth Vader strides purposefully down a Death Star corridor, flanked by Imperial stormtroopers.

VADER: Several fighters have broken off from the main group. Come with me!

Vader's wingman panics at the sight of the oncoming pirate starship and veers radically to one side, colliding with Vader's TIE fighter in the process. Vader's wingman crashes.

The debate is over. ;-)

My lad was playing LEGO City Undercover solidly when it was first released. From the bits I've seen, it looks like a lot of fun, and the city is a big place to explore. The story has a lot of humour as well, I've spotted the odd parody of Dirty Harry and Shawshank Redemption in there.
I watched the Zero Punctuation on that last night. He thought it was odd that a kids game would include references to movies they haven't/shouldn't have seen at their age. I agree somewhat. I love the LEGO games, it's just hard to tell who they're aimed at. The licensed games are aimed at fans of those movies/comics, but what about this one?

When I was a kid, and only knew of The Menagerie two parter, I really thought they had gone to the trouble of changing the sets and costumes to create the "past" scenes.
That's hilarious. I love how they used it for those episodes, fitting this unseen abandoned episode into continuity. I also like how thrifty it was. For the cost of sitting on one "courtroom" set for a day, they got two episodes out.
