Video Games - a general discussion thread

GTA 5 is incredible. It fixes every problem I've had with the series.

Loading Times: Except for when you switch characters, gone.

World Unlock: Drive anywhere, right from the beginning.

Side Quests: Optional. You want to hang out with another character, YOU call THEM! They've also integrated the RDR-type random missions, where you can stop a purse snatcher or so on.

Getting Lost: No longer a problem. Drive as far as you want, then switch characters, the one you got lost will find his way back. Really keeps the game moving.

Car Damage: It's really really hard to damage your car as to be undrivable. Vehicles are far less likely to explode. Also, each character has a vehicle or set of vehicles that is owned by them, so when you switch characters or finish a mission, most of the time one of your cars will be waiting there, saving some time as usually you'd have to stand in the middle of the road and threaten someone to get out of their car.

Cops: There are fewer cops on the street for you to accidentally tap and start some kind of shootout on accident. They're still pains when you do instigate them, but they have view things on the radar so where you can see where they're looking for you, which gives car chases an almost Assassin's Creed feel. Sometimes I find myself looking for hay bales.

Story: Rockstar has learned from RDR and realized that we do actually care about the story. I don't see this getting as emotional as RDR did, but I do care about what happens to the characters. I honestly don't remember what Nico's deal was.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

What number of changes we on now doubleofive (without joking please) or rough guestimation on your last count?
Impossible to say. Thankfully I think Adywan will be doing the official Visual Comparison again, which is great as I won't have to try to figure out what changed frame-by-frame (which we had to do with the Special Edition VCs since ILM never replied to my emails). Scanning the list I'm sure there are a few things that aren't on there, but I can say that most of it is covered by the list.

If I had to guess a number, it might be this.

He was, and got a nice severance package so Two-Face could go from black to purple/white, IIRC.
Yeah, it was something about BDW taking the role for 89 specifically to eventually play Two-Face in a sequel. He had a "pay or play" written into his contract so that they would have to pay him even if he wasn't in the movie.

Yes, they paid for BDW to NOT be in Batman Forever while also paying TLJ to be in it.

I absolutely LOVE the remastered BDs of TNG. I just love them. The documentaries are just excellent, the deleted scenes are an amazing addition, and the HD scan and colour correction is simply mind-blowing.

There are however things I don't like :

- extreme, extreme DVNR on Season 2,

- very bad compositing of some of the SFX scenes. mainly on season 2, but also on a few scenes in season 4

- some of the colour correction - well, I prefer the DVD colours, and also I don't understand why they made some scenes darker, but this is again mainly visible in seasons 2 and 4

- I don't like the fact that they're CG-ing some of the SFX scenes, to be honest I would prefer the elements to be upscaled from the SD tapes

- Dan Curry's team was shooting models in 30fps, their movement looks weird in 24fps

Even with these problems I don't regret buying the blus and I definitely WILL buy the whole show, and of course any other shows they release in HD
They apologized for Season 2 and won't be using that company again. It's a shame CBS-D can't do them all for consistancy's sake.

I have Seasons 1 & 2, mostly to support the idea of rebuilding the entire show from scratch using the original elements, but also because I'd actually not seen most of the episodes. They look incredible, like they were made yesterday (which I guess they were now). And the bonus features are outstanding, mostly because they've had 25 years to look back on it, unlike features on shows still on, where its all EPK fluff.

I need to continue buying them, but we've been spending our fun money on other things.

EDIT:

I'd be more interested in the more impossible B5 and Farscape HD sets.
I want Stargate SG-1 in HD, which they at least filmed on film.
