We have text proof that the films are limited to 1080p?! Can you post a picture of this?

I use it like the @ symbol on Twitter, like you're calling them out.timdiggerm said:

Off Topic: When did the bolding usernames start, doubleofive? It's one of my favorite quirks of the board, but I'm always slightly concerned that it's actually very common on other sites and I just never knew.
It's only because they're bold on the subject line on this particular forum.
Ooh. I thought it spread as a way to make fun of some particular user who did it first. I can't remember who, or I'd bold their name.

We all do, TV's, we all do.
I wish you could talk to Dr. Niles Crane about it.
No, no it doesn't.TV's Frink said:

I gotta be honest, this really makes me laugh! I think that should be a new OT.com meme. "Up your!" :D
I'm sure that was cost prohibitive for an in-house effects studio. It was never supposed to be a grand restoration, it was supposed to be something to get TV stations to want to air 40 year old reruns. Maybe someday they'll go back again and recreate the 17 stock shots using new motion control models. Who knows?
You know, I asked Rossi about the background in that episode, forgot about the statue.SilverWook said:

Thanks for the info! Having both versions would be ideal, so that's great! (Take notes, George!) It's also good to know that the versions I'm watching only have updated effects and not added content or altered scenes.
There are maybe two shots of live action that were replaced, new establishing shots, but you are watching the original edits of the episodes. The original plan was to only replace the space shots and fix the mattes, and that's usually all they had time for.
Erasing a statue that was part of the planet set for Wink of an Eye crossed the line a bit, but the original FX are seamlessly branched on the Blu Rays, thankfully.
This thread is getting too dramatic.
We should have Mark Hamill record some dialog so Luke names them as he sees them in the Cantina for ANHRHD.HotRod said:
Hammerhead was never named, and sorry, he's the coolest guy ever..I mean, he has a hammerhead for a.... head!
Same as Walrus man, Squid head, Yak face, Snaggletooth, all cool guys who were never named...Prune face....
The webisodes are all worth watching. There's a Gaeta one that really helps. Caprica is pretty meh for the first 2/3 or so, B&C is neither good or bad.Tobar said:
Just finished NuGalactica.
It got pretty wobbly after season 3 but I think they righted themselves by the end. Still have to watch Caprica and Blood & Chrome. I also just found out there are additional webisodes out there that no one talks about.
I'm not sure some people are aware that it's supposed to be OT.com based, not just Star Wars based.
Please don't make me want to remove Boba Fett from Empire AND Jedi. ;-)

The Blu-ray contains the 2006 "Remastered" version and the original versions. I actually interviewed the producer a couple weeks ago:ray_afraid said:
I grew up hating Star Trek. All I knew of it was The Motion Picture, which is one of the most boring films I've ever seen, and The Next Generation, which is full of pseudo-drama, techno-babble and very dull and dry characters. But, for whatever reason, I've been watching the original series on Netflix... And I love it!
However, I'm guessing someone has pulled a George Lucas on it as many shots of the Enterprise look very CGI. Am I wrong? Some shots really stand out as being 'new'. I like this stuff enough to invest in some DVDs or BDs, but I wanna see it the way it was originally broadcast. Is that available?
As a TNG movie, it's actually really good. We're having the guys from the TNG podcast on our TOS show to talk about how it works as a TOS movie, then my cohost and I are going on their show to talk about how it works as a TNG movie. I'm planning on tearing it apart on my show, and praising it on theirs.
I tried rewatching Generations last night in prep for a podcast crossover I'm doing. As the TOS guy, I was trying to watch it as if I'd never seen TNG. While its OK as a TNG movie, its terrible as a TOS movie.
I understand that TNG had been around for 8 years and who's going to go into Generations with no knowledge of TNG, but it really doesn't serve as an introduction to anything. Who are these people? Who cares?
It's my opinion it was WAY too late in the game for them to have a "passing of the torch" movie. TNG had had it's run, several TOS characters had already passed it, including McCoy in the freaking pilot. It's not like anyone who was still holding out would be convinced by a movie where the TOS characters are treated like second-class citizens, then murdered.

Biff was around longer than VFP, unfortunately. VFP may also have been Cookie Monster too...
I made a thread for our sock revelations.
I figured instead of taking up Moth3r's No More Socks thread with admissions, I'd start this thread where we take our socks off and admit the feet behind them.
I was Dr. Niles Crane, but that only lasted a couple hours.
The Sock List:
doubleofive was Dr. Niles Crane
TV's Frink was Ric Olie and Cookie Monster
AntcuFaalb was pat[space][space]man, TaggartFrenzy and coltonlolz[space]
Akwat Kbrana was Thermostat
Reegar was Go-Mer-Tonic
darth_ender was blowfish
Nanner Split was Biff Tannen
So can the identity of Biff be revealed to the public?
