The pilot Enterprise had a larger bridge module, larger deflector dish, solid red spiked nacelle caps, and holes in back of the nacelles. When they got picked up, they upgraded the model to have lighting, so they ended up changing all that. So there are really only two versions, they just used the pilot version in the series if they had a stock shot of it doing what they needed it to do that week.

They also used a few AMT model kits, but that's beside the point.

The new Star Wars comics - a general discussion thread

"Darth Vader" #1 takes place after the arc we're halfway through in "Star Wars". I mean, I assumed the Rebels accomplish their mission and escape, I just figured I'd find out how by reading that series.

Anyway, "Darth Vader" is pretty good. The art is a little "traced over screengrabs from the movie" which makes them look more realistic than the current "Star Wars" run, but is distracting to me personally when I can identify what frame most of the art was based on, except for the two-page spreads, which look incredible. As for the plot, I'm really liking the animosity between Vader and the Emperor. The Emperor just treats Vader like garbage, and some of the dialog are now my favorite things.

Original Trilogy: Luke's lightsaber color

Yes, originally it was going to be restoration of the original film. But while they were in there, they decided to add the Jabba scene and maybe redo a couple of the Battle of Yavin shots. Then it went on, and on. They started Star Wars in 1993/4, then decided they should do the other two in 96 I believe.

Eventually I'll write an article on the history of the SE, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

The whales are definitely the best part of that cover.

I'm sure that the book is all about someone finding his discarded original gloves and using the DNA on them to clone the Imperial slaves who hand-stitched his gloves.
I think I remember that book being about some kind of prophecy that whoever had the glove could rule the Empire. Holy shit, they were some terrible books.

In nine other movies, and hundreds of episodes of TV, the merged VGer/Dekker entity never came back? What a waste!
They evolved beyond us, why would they ever want to come back to visit? ;-)

If you're going to complain about that, how about any of the other omnipotent/super-advanced races any of the crews ran into (First Federation, Organians, etc.)
