Everybody's Top Ten Favorite Movies
Time

 1. Pulp Fiction
 2. Star Wars
 3. The Empire Strikes Back
 4. Back to the Future
 5. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
 6. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
 7. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
 8. Raiders of the Lost Ark
 9. 12 Monkeys
10. Dazed and Confused

That was hard. The last five would probably change weekly or even daily. Occasionally Groundhog Day or Hudson Hawk rockets to number one until Andy McDowell shits me to tears.

Dark Knight Rises - Now that we know the cast
Time

WTF? Where are Catwoman's ears? Sheesh.

Finally, other people who don't think The Dark Knight is the best movie ever. I don't have high hopes for this one either. RE: The Keaton - I think he is the best movie Batman but the worst Bruce Wayne. He is just too damn short! The curly hair doesn't help matters either. Batman Begins is my favourite of the movies despite Bale's woeful Clint Eastwood impersonation. TAS Bats is the real Batman for me.

The Pets Thread
Time

I figured that to presume it was a friendly greeting and respond "in kind" would briefly "stroke" my EGO and "flush" out the TRUE MEANING. Plus reference! That's more interesting than saying ""WHUT?"" LOL, NO? Now if only I could have "said" the SAME THING but made it SEVEN times "longer" I could NEVER be WONG!

And then there's skyjedi, who just tends to be repetitive about his distaste for Lucas and the prequels, but is pretty much an okay fellow.

Holy shit, I agree with twooffour about something.

I can say Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time, but until I provide scores and statistic encompassing the entire history of basketball and show indisputable evidence that he is was, indeed, the greatest of all time, that will just have to remain my opinion. Evidence exists to prove that Michael Jordan was, in fact, a really fantastic player, so my opinion is based on plenty of factual data, but just not enough data to prove he was the best who ever played.

I can probably get you enough data to prove this ;)

Alien Resurrection was a let down but it does have some good scenes, a couple of good performances, some great production values and a rather nice soundtrack.

Whedon says they filmed his script but got every aspect of it wrong (as in not as he imagined and described it).

Last year I read the novel based on Whedon's screenplay. All scenes and dialogue are the same as in the movie, but it has a totally different tone. It could have been a really good movie if Whedon directed it. Same with his first Buffy screenplay.

I liked Indy 4 except the ending. The flying saucer was way too much.
And Pirates of the Caribbean 4 was really good. Better than parts 2 and 3.

Oh, and BSG Season 4: BEST. SCIFI. ON. TV. EVER.

I disagree. It's a very good season, but I think Lost Season 5 is the best sci-fi on TV ever.

Movies that actually scare/scared you!
Time

Raiders face-melting was scary at 7 or 8, Jaws was fucking scary at about 8 or 9, I hid behind the couch for most of it and had shark nightmares. Several horror movie previews I can't remember on our home videos scared me...

Just seeing the covers in the horror section of the video library scared the crap out of me til I was almost Zig's age. The only actual horror movie that scared me for days was Amityville Horror 3, which was the first one I ever saw at about 13.

Nothing was quite as scary after that first one, but others that left a lasting impression were The Omen trilogy and The Exorcist. The end of The Ring freaked me out and I'd be lying if I said Blair Witch didn't make a bit of an impression as well. I'm sure there are a few others that escape me.
