Criterion Collection of Blade Runner (Released)

I came across this post from a Google search for "On The Edge Of Blade Runner". So I registered to reply, heh.

As it happens, there's a full anamorphic, gorgeous transfer of the Original Version available *as we speak* on TPB. It's a 2-DVD edition, which includes a documentary, soundtrack, and a lot of DVD-ROM content. I've seen LD rips before, but this one looks really good - no artifacting, no distorsion and true 16x9 is a bonus.

now... can someone help me finding a good copy of that elusive "On The Edge Of Blade Runner" documentary?

edit: Rikter, dude, I just realized you did one of the TPM vesrions - and an album, as well... Props, man, good work! You should check out this BR version I posted (from a newsgroup source... they're doing "Hearts of Darkness" next)

Strangelove, I could get you a copy of "on the edge." It's in 16x9 but mastered from VHS I believe.

do you use the LD image or the DVD image for your DVD ?

DVD. I got a copy of the Japanese disc which is the only 16x9 version out there. I'll have the original 5.1 track on there as well since (at the moment) there is no 16x9 version of it around. This will be the definitive version of the movie until they decide to release an official one. It will also be dual-layered (the first disc). Second disc is already done and is single layered. I didn't want to release that first becuase I figured people would want both discs together. I will try to get it done ASAP.

Which is why I'm giving you the chance. I'll do the "making of" specials for Superman. You go download some of mine.

I'm never overloaded!

I just don't like to answer my emails every day - I'd rather play with my kids and hang out with my wife!

So is anyone going to put together a proper dual-layer version? with the trailer from the Memphis Belle DVD? That would be SWEET

I have the Trailer in 16x9 Mode from a Warner DVD. That's a start

Which DVD? The Memphis Belle one has it but not sure if it's 16x9. The audio is REALLY low on it. That's all i remember.

Ash,

I can upload it if you want. I know Rikter has been overloaded as of late and I'd love to get a copy.

I was also going to upload my versions of the making of the first 2 as well in the next week.

I may be wrong but if this was a real HD version don't you think it would be all over the net (like digitalbits and that WB mastered the film in HD and don't you think that TNT (has the BR rights to broadcast), Showtime (I think they have the rights) and the other HD channels would be showing it now also? Again I may be wrong...

You're wrong. This is a completely different master.

I know that the re-entry scene is originally from TPM, and on it's 2-disc set. As well as the scene where anakin marches on the Jedi temple is on the AOTC soundtrack. I'd like to see a 2-disc set for ROTS, or to reconstruct the full version of the films score.

There is one. It also includes cues from the various video games as well. Same thing has been done for Clones.
