Have you finished downloading the discs yet? I'd love to hear some opinions. Not many have them yet.

Something else I just remembered is that many tv airings of Godfather 3 have a different opening which is a montage of scenes from GF1 and 2 to recap the story, but shown as flashbacks as Michael sits and ponders it all at the Lake Tahoe estate (the same shot we see of him at the end of the theatrical GF2). However it looks like they used extra unused GF2 footage of him from that scene for this alternate opening between the flashback moments.

Yup...i remember that as well. I think that was when they showed all 3 of them...as a trilogy...on some station. The extended G2 has something similar i believe...plus footage that was eventually used in 3 I believe...plus quiet moments of the Corleone estate early in the morning before the party.

There are no scenes on the DVD's that neither version included. The only thing that has scenes not included on the DVD was the Saga airing. It has an alternate intro to part 2. All the DVD's included were the scenes from the VHS/Laserdisc sets. The DVD was pretty slippily put together, IMHO.

They are indeed the Japanese remastered laserdiscs.

Actually...all the transfers I've seen were the ones with the subtitles.

I haven't tried it on my regular player (which has no problem playing burned DL discs). I guess i'd have to watch the whole movie to figure out if it was placed at the right section.
I guess what i'm asking is:
If i go into pre-mastering and set the layer break (with the red O next to it), I'm assuming it's set and all I have to do is burn like usual?

I set it under Pre-Mastering but I don't think that it was set properly when burned. How exactly does this work?

 - Audio IFO Editor on DVDlab??

Quick question:
there is an option on the Audio IFO editor on DVD-lab for Quantization. I'm curious as to what the setting should be for this. I have the option of 16kbps, 20kbps and 24kpbs I believe (I'm not at home looking at it right now). There is also an option for normalization. Which should I choose???

I really can't stand BeSweet. It NEVER works for me. I think i need a step by step tutorial from someone actually here because even the ones online don't even work for me.

HTH or I'm getting mixed up with something else!

Yes, it's the audio IFO editor. I'm not sure which I should set it to. There are 4 options.

They're really cheap. Mine was (I believe) $40. Very cheap.
You can always burn a single layer version.
BTW, the sync is correct by my eyes. All I have to do is add chapter stops and I'm done.
