yeah i just emailed him. i might just do a preliminary version with the program "as is" now. Seems like everyone has the same issue. They want to be able to have control over bitrate and size.

JPG's or BMP's are cool.

I'm having problems converting the TS to MPG. I was using HDTV2DVD and the resulting file just isn't big enough and the bitrate isn't high enough for my liking. I need to try and fix that. Is there another way to convert it to MPEG?

I'm adding both the original trailer (pretty beat up from VHS) and the DC trailer as well to the first disc. There will be a 2nd disc of extras. I'm not sure if I'll be releasing both at the same time or what.

The menus will be pretty lame but I want to get this done and out. What's on it is what matters.

The only version broadcast was the directors cut.

Personally, i'd rather never see the "happy" version with voiceover again.

It was a condensed version of the actual documentary with only the behind the scenes footage that wasn't seen in any other documentary. You should be using the actual dvd transfer of the documentary. digitalfreak's is the best one.

And as someone who has used DL discs for a year or two now, I've never had the massive problems noted above.

Compatibility, yes. That's a problem. But they've played in every drive I've used them in. They work in 1 of my 2 players.

And I've only had one complaint from the people I've sent them to.

So YMMV. But like i said...send me 2 discs and I'll put them together and seed it.

I can get whatever you want on Myspleen. I'd prefer a dual layer copy, honestly. Let people shrink it if they like but at least give them the option of something bigger. Just send me the stuff on two discs and i'll combine into one file.
I can also get Return Of The Ewok up there.

Quick question: is there a program that will allow you to edit a video source with 5.1 audio and will keep it in 5.1 when you're done? Most will change it to 2.0 in the final mpg.

Good point. Have you gone through both versions to find the differences? As in, is the new stuff just additions, or it is also alterations of things in the theatrical cut? I have a pretty good-quality telecine bootleg of the theatrical release in, I believe, the proper aspect ratio. It would need some color-correction to match, but it could be a usable source.

I haven't. I just got it yesterday...and goddamn, 17 minutes of additions is a lot. I thought the original movie was overly long as well.

anyone wanna take a stab at this? The only way to get the theatrical cut is to buy the pan-scan version.
