Dude....do me a favor.

DO NOT RESPOND in my thread any more about this Blade Runner issue.

NO ONE is going to make you a single layer version. if you want a single layer version, BUY THE ORIGINAL DVD.

Stop wasting page after page of this thread begging for a copy. Stop PMing me. Stop emailing me. Just stop.

At the moment, as far as i know, there are no dvr's that will output an anamorphic signal. The only boxes I know that do it are the Pioneer but I dunno if they have a DVR. The regular one does. Obviously you would't get 5.1 on that either...just 2.0.

So right now, you'll just have a better looking (hopefully) non-anamorphic disc.

MY HD DVR will do it, only to a HD Digital VHS recorder, with exceptions. The content can not be "Flagged" as "Record Once Only". My cable company sets that "Flag" on almost all HD content. Sometimes if I am lucky the flag is not set and I am able to record to my PC running "CapDVHS" a D-VHS emulator. The file can be converted to a DVD complient file that will output anamorphic video. I loose the 5.1 Dolby Digital audio though, as my DVD recording software converts it to 2 channel Dolby Digital and PCM during the transcoding. The process takes a lot of work and a long time so I only do it once and a while. The Last one I did was The Frighteners .

Are you able to capture playing back something from your DVR? Which do you have? I'm assuming you're hooked up through firewire.

Soundtrack is 2 channel. It was on a cable tv channel and I recorded it to my pc from my HD DVR out the S-Vidieo connection. I have no equipment to record digital audio. I have not even seen any sound cards that will allow you to do that.

So if you can just put up the movie that would be great, I don't mind just having one seeder for something like that.

Many thanks

No. Just the movie is still dual-layered. I'm not doing a single-layer version.

If you want a single layered version, you should buy the version that's out there.

Hacker,

Do you have a dual-layer burner? This set is essentially equivalent to 3 single layer discs. Even if I put this other version up, you'd have even LESS seeders (it would be just me). Even if there are a lot of leechers, that's not a problem because you'd be leeching off of them. That's the whole point. You don't have to worry about the one seeder until you get there.

No plans at the moment. I might do it since it's sitting on my PC right now. I'm waiting to hear back from people to see if it's better than the last one I did.

If anyone needs something NTSC copied, i could do that. i also have something that disabled copy-protection.

Yes, guys, I know it is ridiculous. I am a novice with no equipment other than my PC. And since the PC cannot help me to copy tapes at the moment, I tried to do it that way. The friend I mentioned is not any video professional and he uses his DVD recorder just to record PAL TV signal, he never needed to play or copy NTSC tapes.

so are you taking me up on my offer?

By the way, Heroes and Sidekicks dvd was shipped today

Sweet! THank you!

What about the Entertainment Tonight?

I'm still trying to get a copy of the US version of Heroes and Sidekicks. I also might have a lead on some other vintage Indy stuff. Seeing how I could work it out. I have to trade.

VHS.

It was my original VHS recording for the video.

The audio was from someone else's. It was the best audio I could find that had the least amount of hiss and also was high enough as well.

It was seriously a bitch to try and get the best possible version out there. Seems like the quality is pretty average on all of them...and mine was much better than a few that I got. Like I said, I had to piece together the audio for the end credits from about 4 different recordings to not have the announcer talking over it.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the results. No, they don't match up to the laserdisc releases but it would be difficult to when this only aired in 84 when the movie came out. I even got a copy from Babyhum and mine was still better. Back then they actually made quality VHS so maybe that's why it looks pretty good.

Here is an alternate cover for it I am working on. I still need to write the text on the back cover. I made it to match the covers designed by Rikter, if I remember correctly, based on the Laserdisc.

Very nice job! A note, though, both of ours were done from the laserdiscs.

Digitalfreak, I know it must feel really bad for you to get "scooped" on a release, but technically none of this stuff is yours. Know what I mean?

Yeah, you put the effort into collecting things, authoring and releasing, but this ownership shit has to be put in check.

Raul - if you did just copy something, you should give credit where it's due.

1) how am i getting scooped? He's USING mine. That's not a scoop.

2) I never said i owned this. in fact, if you'll check, I said exactly what YOU'RE saying in another thread. However, on this board and the BR newsgroup, I was ripped for not giving credit to some of my extras. So apparently it DOES matter.

Not sure why you're on my back alluvasudden but please get off.

I'd like to get the laserdisc and sync up the audio from that since so many people complained...but I don't feel like re-buying it. If anyone can capture theirs using PCM...i'd be open to doing it.

Other than that, I have some personal projects I'm working on. Not sure which I'm going to tackle next. Maybe one of the Jaws discs since they won't be that difficult.

I'm a little lost. What do you need, The Audio from the Criterion LD ? I can Send it to you.

nope. from the DC laserdisc. people were complaining that they didn't like the mix that was used in the broadcast.

No one wanted a non-dual layer version. That completely defeats the purpose of my release. There is already a non-dual layer version out there with lesser quality and this has been discussed considerably. Please do not release it.

I also already have the criterion laserdisc. There were no video extras on that release. There were only drawings and other notes. What you have listed as "extras" is everything that was on my release.

Dude...you can do what you want but the only thing that you, personally, are contributing here is your own version (if that's true) of the Criterion. You're new here and it's bad form to just go around re-releasing other people's stuff...especially without their permission. Hell, I got shit for doing it on MY release.
