Last Minute trip to london...advice?

The Hard Rock Cafe in London may have some SW mementos as the cast hung out there during filming (I stupidly walked past the place but forgot to go eat there when I was in London...DOH!)

Go to Abbey Road and get someone to take a picture of you crossing the street Beatles-style. :-P I managed to do that while I was there, but I missed the studio tour. :-( The London Symphony Orchestra recorded some of the the SW soundtracks there I think.

The place I stayed was a nice Bed & Breakfast but I can't recall the name. I'll post the name if I can find it.

Definitely let me know where you stayed.  I'm still looking for a place.

Which Star Wars cast hung out there?  Where did you get that story from?

Blade Runner: The Complete Music Collection (work-in-progress)

I feel like I've just walked into the twilight zone. Here we are on a forum discussing what is in reality a bootleg collection and we critizice the previous bootlegs and say we want to do away with them. That is a bit hipocritical, don't ya think. Unless you are Vangelis himself, this is a bootleg project, the same (in all legal ways) as any other bootleg of the Blade Runner soundtrack. Don't play all high and mighty because you claim to be doing a restoration. All you are doing is taking bootlegs to another level by claiming it is a restoration. Some of your editing choices indicate a personal preference on your part that, unless you are in posession of the original master tapes (or copies thereof), you cannot justify some of you editing choices.

There are many bootlegs out there of blade runner, but some recent ones have been quiet stellar. I would much prefer the recent bootlegs by Sebastian, Vincente or GreyFedora than music that suffers from merging of tracks that shouldn't be. I don't know what sources these guys use, but they have tracks that are quiet clean and nice, particularly the music from Taffy's bar.

I'd recommend going to Yahoo and finding the Blade Runner Sondtrack group and request admission. They share some interesting music in flac and mp3 and they have better versions of the music from Taffy's bar than I have heard elsewhere.

You need to take this nonsense elsewhere. This thread (within the greater forum of discussing fan edits and restorations) is about this project, and this project in particular. You can think and feel what you like, discuss what you like, but if it doesn't relate to this project then take it elsewhere. I don't get what is so hard to understand. Any forum or fan related to Vangelis or Blade Runner is great, I've said that many times before. But you need to show an amount of respect to the purpose of this specific thread. If you can't do that, and what you want isn't here then look for it elsewhere. As to what I'm doing, I've explained it within reason. I don't "claim" anything beyond what I have already stated. As for my "editing choices", since I haven't released this yet you'll to wait before you can tell me you hate it, but don't worry, you'll get your chance.

You clearly have your opinions about what you like. That bieng the case, I don't understand your need for posting beyond bashing this project, which is all you seem to want to do given the tone of your other posts. If you want to stay and are interested in what I am trying to offer with this project then great. The fact that you are here, and are posting at all (dispite the nature) tells me that you are. Otherwise, I don't know what else to say beyond what I have already said.

*applause*

Focuspuller, I'm still waiting with bated breath for your collection.  I ain't joinin' no newsgroup.  ;) I have faith you'll do right by us.

Help looking for... Scarface / Sea of Love - deleted scenes?
Time

Does anyone have the original airings of either Scarface or Sea of Love (both Al Pacino films)?

They included deleted scenes never before released on VHS or DVD.  I used to have both on tape but they were recorded over long ago, unfortunately. 😦

I remember Scarface was broadcast over 2 nights and was extended to pad out the 4 hour running time.  A lot of the deleted scenes are different to what was officially released.

Sea of Love had a lot of different scenes…including Lorraine Bracco’s character that was completely cut out.

That is ashame. I had these images in my head of you guys getting to sit down to a pristine screening of the HS. Guess I didn't miss out on too much. Kind of cool though, I imagine because of this many HS virgins have now taken a step into a larger world... and learned what an awful world it is.

Yeah...i had high hopes as well.  What can you do?

Possible Star Wars Holiday Special screening in NYC!
Time

Sat through it with a friend today.  People came in and out but no one else stayed for the whole thing besides us.

It was definitely from VHS because I saw the white line running across the bottom of the screen, going from left to right horizonatally throughout.  It was in pretty bad shape and definitely not what you'd expect from the museum at all.  It was MUCH worse than what we have on bootleg, with smearing all over the place.

For those interested, it was recorded from a Los Angeles TV station.

If you want any more info, I'd be glad to answer.

Info: The Godfather Trilogy 1901 - 1980

I have these on VHS:

The Godfather - The Epic : 1901-1959 (3 tapes)

The Godfather Trilogy : 1901-1980 (4 tapes)

I bought them from eBay sometime ago, I've watched them and I highly recommend them. There's footage on them that hasn't been made available on any of the DVD releases.

That's not true. All of the deleted scenes have been made available.
